I took my watch in today to get the battery changed. I always take my watch here and only here to get the battery changed because it's right around the corner from my job. Today they told me they couldn't get the back off. Now how is that possible when I only bring the watch here. When they are the only ones who have removed the back of the watch. So that means last time I got a battery they messed it up. So that's it, that's all they said is we can't take it off. And scratched up the back and states sometimes it rare but we can't remove it. read more

We have passed by this shop a bunch of times while shopping @ Albertsons. So when we needed our solar watches sized and one watch needed a battery. We decided to give this place a try. Door is locked and you need to ring door bell to get buzzed in. Older lady working wasn't very friendly @ the beginning. She just gave us the ugly stink eye @ first, but then I saw she gives it to everyone. I have to remind myself all the time some people just have the resting B face. (Dosen't necessarily mean they are one). After explaining to her what we needed. She said to remove links it would be 11 or 12 bucks and new battery was 13 or 14. Reasonable prices so we agreed to have them done. She said it would be about 15 minutes and to come back. We went grocery shopping and exactly 15 minutes later they were done. She was so much nicer when we returned. Even told my husband about getting my knifes sharpened here and that they do custom jewelry. Overall I would come back as they did a good job it was fast and @ a reasonable price. read more

I sent my costume jewelry in right before Christmas and still have yet to receive it. I was told 3 different times that it would be shipped out on 3 different dates. I needed my jewelry by Valentine's Day, which came and went. Owner claims there is a family emergency, but I have not been updated and again keep being told it will be shipped out by a certain date, but it never happens. I will remove this rating when/if I receive my jewelry because I am thinking i got scammed. read more

I was SO excited to find a long standing, local shop to support but unfortunately, I won't be returning. I went in, had a necklace repaired with a little delay but no big deal. So I placed an order for a ring and was told it would be ready within a couple wks, I never received a call so 3 wks later I call and was told by Elise that she left me a voicemail with questions. I am constantly checking my messages and never received one. She asked to confirm the information we discussed when I placed the order which I thought was odd because she had written it all down but I confirmed and she said the ring would be ready within a wk and I would receive a call. Again, wks pass, no call, no messages. I call after 3 wks and Elise says they have had phone line problems and so she has been unable to call me. I asked if the ring was ready and she said it was not but she would have it ready, again, within a wk. I went in to store FOUR wks later after not receiving a call again, assuming I would just be able to pick up the ring, it was NOT ready. She went on and on again about phone issues, which does not answer the issue of the ring not being ready for months, and explained it was a gift and I absolutly needed it within 5 days, she promised it would be ready and encouraged me to just head in to pick it up by the weeks end. I showed up as planned, NO RING. MORE EXCUSES! About the phone lines and she just tried making many unrelated excuses and simply said it hadnt been made she "was sorry". I do not understand the point of leading me on for so long. Why could she not simply be honest from the beginning and tell me either that it wouldnt be ready, or that there would be a long wait, or that they simply did not want my business? I cant understand the point of all the hassle? Everytime I went in there, there were papers all over the desk and she couldnt find my order form she wrote. They either need to find another receptionist/customer service rep or close down because she is FULL OF IT. read more

From beginning to end, Elise was a dream come true in my search for an engagement ring! I'm so grateful for Highland Jewelry Mart. I've gone to them a few times over the years to have watch batteries replaced. Around October of 2023 I went in to get a battery replaced. While waiting, I asked Elise if she could answer a couple of questions I had regarding engagement rings, and that's where her excellent service began over the course of about the next two months. She was extremely informative and detailed with her explanation in the multitude of options to consider when selecting that-perfect-ring. She never made me feel as if I was a bother, or asking too many questions. I could have very easily gotten lost and/or overwhelmed in my selection process, and ended up at the mall, but Elise actually made the entire experience an exciting journey. Every question, concern, and opinion I had was answered with patience and preciseness. I felt like she was just as engaged and excited in my ring search as I was. I have taken everything from a high-end vintage watch, a St. Christopher's medal that I wanted securely attached to a stainless steel necklace, to the removal of a single link from a new watch (the watch was new and those link cotter pins were in there very tight) to Highland Jewelry Mart. The outcome has always been perfect, in better condition than when I left the piece and just as I expected it to be based on my interactions with the owner. The service, the friendly conversation with the owner, her honest and transparent insight on every jewelry-related question is top-notch and none of the jewelry shops I have dealt with in my over 40 years of purchasing jewelry have surpassed her in these qualities. I can imagine that if you go into this shop looking to fast-talk and hustle the woman behind the counter (she is the owner, btw) or come at her with some attitude you might find that she will not take your disrespect. But, I have never witnessed this and she has been more than understanding when I have had my son who is on the spectrum and can sometimes get a little rambunctious. So, I think the naysayers complaining about her attitude or lack of professionalism could be mistaking this shop for another or are total anomalies. 10-stars, if there was an option; or simply 100% satisfaction for everything I have needed from the local jewelry shop that can make sure my items are repaired or serviced properly when needed. read more

I took two watches and for batteries, waited in line maybe 90 seconds and was waited on by the owner who was so very very nice very polite and knowledgeable. I can't tell you how nice it is to find somebody that is very professional in their work. She had me wait 10 minutes while they replace the batteries in both watches and within that 10 minutes we had a wonderful conversation. Love this store- have been dealing with them for years. Their customer service is wonderful. I worked with a animal rescues thrift store and would bring jewelry in all the time to get ideas of what the items were worth- the owner was always happy to help and spend time with me going over the different pieces. I took a ring that I needed resized that I bought for my wife for our anniversary from a size 7 to a size 6. The lady there told me that they could do the job and that it would take a couple of day. she called me a couple of days later and told me the ring was ready. When I got there I told her that I was there to pick up my ring and she very rudely told me that she did not call me. I showed her my phone with her phone # calling me. she then told me to take a "chill pill" and that she did have my ring ready. I was puzzled by her reaction. I asked to see if my ring was sized to a size 6, and she told me it was, I asked again, can I see to make sure. She said "no I already told you that is a size 6". I asked again, but she would not do it. The ring I had resized was white gold and it was discolored on the area where it had been resized. I asked about that and she told me "that's what you get when you buy white gold" I asked if it could be fixed and she said "no you can't fixed that". This is my local jewelry store and I'm very disappointed with their customer service. I will take my jewelry else where and will never come back here. I think she needs to take a chill pill and treat all her customers the same way and with courtesy. read more

Review is for a watch repair. If I could give no stars, I would. I brought a watch here with broken hands and glass at 1500HRS on a Saturday. I advised that I live 2 hours away, and so I would appreciate an accurate ETA. We agreed that if it the hands were fixable that the glass would be repaired, also. I was told Tuesday or Wednesday it should be ready. Near close of business Wednesday I called to check on the watch, and was advised that it's still being worked on, and I will get a call on Thursday or Friday when it's ready. I called near 1530HRS on Friday, and the watch was still not ready. Above that, I was advised the glass would need to be ordered and so the best ETA she could give me was next Friday, A WEEK LATER. I told her just fix the hands, and I'll have someone pick it up. They did the following day, and it was not fixed. I had literally 11 complete days to get this watch fixed in time to surprise its owner, and 8 of those days were WASTED. Now I don't have time to have another shop do it. Fast Fix in the Inland Mall advised 2 days for sure after taking it apart, and now I don't have 2 days. Thanks a lot, lady. Your inability to do a small, inexpensive job and my desire to want to put faith in the mom and pop brick/mortar store ruined what would have been a nice surprise for a friend. And to add to that, there should be NO REASON for me to be calling to check on the work. A professional would advise the customer, no matter how small the transaction, if there is a delay. I usually don't sweat the small things, but this disgusts me. read more

So uppity. I went in with my fiancé to ask if they can measure our ring size. The lady there said unless we buy them there then she would do it. I then asked her if I can see some wedding bands and she said,"oh but our bands are pretty thick and heavy so they can be too expensive." Who is she to say what's expensive to us? She didn't even know we had no budget for our rings. We could have been a great sale but with that attitude, hell no! Can't believe there are people like that still in this world. So quick to judge. I went to Highland Jewelry Mart with my great grandmother's watch that needed a lot of work. I wasn't sure if it could even be restored to working condition it was so mangled. I talked with Elise and she was great!!! I was so happy when she assured me that of course they could fix it! She explained what needed to be done and said she'd give me a call when it was ready. I'm a very fair person, and I would never rate a business this low unless I had good reason. Today I went to this business because I plan on surprising my daughter with a ring for her birthday but I don't know her ring size. My daughter was with me so I shared with the lady there (who is a blonde) that the ring is for my wife and my daughter's ring size is the same. I just don't know it. I only asked if she could tell me what size my daughter's ring was. She informed me they didn't offer that service. If I were buying something, she could let me know. I said, "so you won't even size her ring for me?" She said, "no, because people come in here asking for services and then take their business somewhere else." I then said, "that's the cost of doing business. Some will buy and some won't, but if you don't assist potential clients who do ask for something, you can be sure they won't do business with you." Thing is, I have done business there in the past, she just didn't remember me. I told her bad news travels faster than good news and to not do something as simple as size my daughter's ring size was a terrible way to do business. I shared if I were buying a car, I have to test drive it first, and if a company wouldn't allow me to test drive, no way would I do business. And what she did was terrible, especially with my 12 year old daughter standing there. read more

I can't remember ever doing business with a company that provided me such poor service. My wife took my wedding ring to them for cleaning & repairs in January of this year. I went in to check on the ring about a month latter when I hadn't received a call on it's status. I was told at this time that the ring was lost. They wouldn't provide me with any details about how it was lost due to a pending insurance investigation. They did tell me they would replace it. I made three or four trips to the store to pick it up on dates that I was told the replacement ring would be ready. It was finally ready & I picked It up in mid April. I again asked how my original ring was lost & was told it was stolen by an employee. A few days latter I went back in to ask for some certification on the quality of the replacement ring for insurance purposes. At that time I was told, they couldn't do that but they would provide me with an appraisal. I've made no less than five trips back to the store to pick up the appraisal. Three times I was told they would mail it to my house & was offered numerous excuses as to why it hadn't been done yet. After another trip to the store inquiring on the status of the appraisal & being assured they would mail it to my house, they called me on the phone an hour latter stating they couldn't provide me with an appraisal because that isn't a service they provide. The Highland Jewelry Marts lack of candor concerning the original loss, failurre to provide prompt replacement of my original ring & the refusal to provide any certification as to the value of the replacement ring after assuring me they would provide an appraisal on numerous occasions during the last two months leaves me extremely disappointed & suspicious. I personally couldn't recommend The Jewelry Mart on any level. read more
