My husband and I went to Ozel's in 2001 looking but not ready to purchase an engagement ring. They had the exact ring that i wanted and it was their design, an antique style yellow gold ring with diamonds on the sides. They were very nice and gave us the mold number for when we were ready to make our purchase. Never forgetting that they had my perfect ring we returned a year later and showed Abraham the number that he had given us and he had no clue what we were talking about. We found a ring that was similar to the style i liked but we wanted the setting to be changed. He had every thing written down that we wanted. Then we picked out a diamond in his office. We asked about certified diamonds and he said that there was no way to certify a diamond. We picked a 1.1 carat lightly tinted diamond with no obvious inclusions. We put a down payment and arranged to make payments directly to them. They said as long as we paid them once a month until we paid it off we would be fine. We got the call that it was done. It was poor quality and the setting was not what we had agreed to change. He said he would redo it. We went back for a second time and it was just hideous. They redid it once again. Finally, for the third time we returned. The ring had the right setting, but the quality of the ring itself was crap. The engraving was uneven, the prongs were uneven, and one of the side diamonds was crooked. To top it off, the center diamond had a major inclusion, one that was not there before. We brought all of this up to them and asked for our money back. He put us off until closing and once the gate of the store was down he proceeded to yell at us and berate us. Once he finally calmed down and we realized that we were screwed, we agreed to change the center diamond. Our options went from a 1.1 carat that we were happy with the day we picked it out to a 3/4 carat cloudy diamond. We chose to keep the original diamond. While keeping up with the unwritten payment agreement, we would make a payment every two to three weeks. 4 days after making a payment we recieved a call from Ozel's harassing about paying off our "loan." At this point we only owed 1/4 of the price of the ring and it had been about 2 months since we made a down payment so we didnt understand why they were calling us. We got a personal loan from our bank that day and ended our debt with them. So we paid them off and got our ring and cut our losses, always remaining kinda bitter about the situation. A few years later we decided to go into the Redlands store. We had them look at my ring and told them the whole situation but never named the jeweler. They said we were ripped off. The ring was of poor quality and we paid way too much. The guy couldn't believe how we were treated. As soon as we mentioned that we bought the ring from ozels in Victorville the story changed. "Uncle Abe" would never treat customers like that. And we didn't pay way too much because the diamond market in Victorville is different then the diamond market 50 miles away in Redlands. That turned into a yelling match which hopefully kept at least a few people from getting scammed. I definitely would never go back there and have told everyone i know not to go there. read more

We have been searching for a place / someone to pierce our baby girls ear for the past few months. My sister in law referred me over to Ozel. Prior to coming in, I did my research and seen soo many good reviews about Ozel and Esther. We finally made the move and took our baby girl in and let me tell you! 1. When you walk in to the store, it's soo beautiful! 2. The atmosphere, very friendly and FAMILY ORIENTED! A couple of years ago i had a diamond put into a necklace. Wasn't satisfied with the job, went in and told jeweler on premise that I wasn't quite satisfied with the job. He reset the stone and a couple of hours later gave it back to me. I was so happy!! The owner was standing there and said "No." I more money after the jeweler reset it said if your not satisfied bring it back. I told the owner I paid for the work and demanded money and he grabbed my purse to get out money with the necklace in his hand and pushed me to the floor. When police was called the owner told police he did not know how to work a video tape. Had bruises on me and was so horrified with that kind of abuse. read more

The lady Esther walked me through the process, made me feel very comfortable, and never dumb (bc I knew nothing about this process). This family-owned business is the friendliest and kindest. I drove there during the hours they gave me, only to find that they were closed. Overall, I was disappointed with both the quality of the bracelet and the miscommunication regarding their hours.
