Would absolutely give zero stars. This place is the absolute worst. The first mishap was months ago, when I made an appointment for my sister and I before a wedding. We showed up at the nail salon, it was closed (during hours it was supposed to have been open) without any notice. We didn't receive a phone call to cancel. We tried calling and no one answered. I gave it a pass this time, thinking maybe someone had a family emergency. Today, I had an appointment for a pedicure, showed up 5 minutes before my appointment and then proceeded to wait 30 minutes without any attention. Meanwhile, a woman with no appointment, but getting a more expensive service comes in, gets seated right away and someone starts working on her gel removal. I was told someone would be with me in "one minute," but of course no one bothered. What was the point of making an appointment? One additional note on waxes. They double dip. So gross. They also only take cash or Venmo. If you Venmo, they'll hover over you to ensure you put no description for the reason behind the payment (i.e., no reference to nails, waxing or any services). One star is to generous to be honest. I was looking for a place to fill in my acrylics and do my toes and I find this one with pretty good reviews. I'm not sure why this place has good reviews. The both ladies who attend to me were extremely rude. My nails were messy and overfilled, I asked her for a coffin shape and she made them look big and chunky. On my toes you can see my previous green nail polish. She asked me to pay her $65 for my toes and $52 for my nails and I was like WHAT !! $65 for a gel pedi ?!? ( the pedi didn't ever involve a saying my feet and she massage me for 5 minutes). Horrible !! read more

Horrible. I came in for a pedicure. She rushed through it put my feet in cold water then when I told her I already had gel and needed to get it taken off she started peeling it off rather then soaking like your suppose to. WTH. She then Proceeded to cut my toe nails, So short my toes are throbbing from it. I told her to stop half way because it was completely BS and not worth the money they charge. Go somewhere else. For Burlingame i expected them to be good but NO. You're better off going to somewhere where they will actually give you a real pedicure. read more

I had three in a row very long waited. I normally am seen within 5-15 minutes with my nails and I always post pictures here as well. But the last three times I have had to wait over 1 hour to even be seen but my very last time I waited 2 hours and 15 minutes to be seen and I had to ask to please start and to skip my pedicure and just do a polish change because the salon closes at 7:00 and it was 6:30pm I had dinner reservations at 8:00pm and I had plans. Long story short I had to come in on Monday to have them done. The new shop is CRAZY busy and usually people walk in with high expectations to be seated ASAP. But appointments should come first. I've seen reviews saying prices have been raised. I haven't noticed that personally but I have noticed a longer wait time. Even with my experience I still give 4 out of 5 stars but I do hope the ladies realize walk-ins can't always be seated if everyone is busy. No one likes to feel rushed. But this new location is bigger and nicer and a lot more space for clients. The ladies always sweet. read more

"Nothing makes you feel like a man more than getting a manicure or pedicure. No wait, that didn't sound right did it? No? Oh well. Seriously, this place is awesome. When ever I am in need of getting my claws clipped or my feet overhauled this is where I go (generally after having a few "adult beverages" next door at the Vinyl Room). The staff are extreamly friendly, and total experts at their craft. Its a small place, with 4 manicure tables and 3 pedicure stations. The pedicure stations are extreamly comfortable massage chairs with enough buttons and settings to keep even my ADD addled brain occupied while the foot artist works her magic. They are very clean, which is really important when it comes to these kind of places, and the prices are not bad at all. Everyone in my family goes here even, thats what kind of loyalty they inspire in their clientelle. As a straight guy getting a manicure I am comfortable in this place (a dude can get wierded out in these places if he is not used to it), but it appears that their clientelle is 95% women as I am always the only hombre there. So ladies hit this place up, and guys give it a try (its out of the way enough your friends probably wont see you...lol). Well, my daughter can do a better job than the technician who did my nails. The job was horrible and I had to pay $60 to get my nails to look so ugly! The problem is, they kept accepting every client who walked in the door; as a result, the technician was in a hurry and did not wait between coats to dry. I understand the need to have more revenue but repeat customers are more important as far as I am concerned. (Just a side note; I'm embarrassed to take a picture of my nails it's really bad) it looked worse the day after. read more

If you enjoy a 15 minute, overpriced and skimpy pedicure then stop by! I was charged $30 for a pedicure that lasted 15 minutes MAX (that includes nail polish dry time). The spa chair was not adequately cleaned prior to me sitting in it- the lady gave it a quick wipe down between customers and that was it. I would never return or recommend to a friend. I stood for several minutes and waited to be led where to sit. Finally a lady yells from the rear of the store what it is I'm there for. I tell her and she continues to yell at me to head that way. By this time, all the women in the shop turn to stare at me. Hmm. I don't mean to sound snooty but maybe a better way to greet customers might be nice. My mom and I have been going to Emily's nail salon for about 5 years now and we would not go anywhere else. Everyone is so friendly and they do amazing work. The pedicures are wonderful and I always splurge on the extra 10 or 15 minute massage because it is sooooo worth it. This is a great place to become a "regular". Once you go there a few times, they go above and beyond to get to know you, remember your name, remember exactly how you like your nails done, etc. which always makes the experience that much more enjoyable. read more

Update: Gotta give the love! For 5+ years, I've gone to Emily's Nails. They are regularly busy unless you go between 5 and 6pm on a Tuesday or Wed. They are very, very good, have upgraded to the most wonderful massage chair pedibaths, and are open Mon-Saturday (very busy day, don't go Sats.) I always go to Kim, she's funny, takes her time and leaves you alone if you wanna chill out and catch up on your Brangela moment of the week. No matter where I go, 3 day weekend or not, I always come home for the "good pedicure" because I don't trust many other places. They may be considered a little higher cost at $25 but they really give a good, long massage, not just a quick once over. read more

Great location and very competitive prices. I followed Ali's advice and scheduled an appointment with Kim for a pedi. She was in fact very thorough and gave me a great foot massage. Her actual paint job was a bit iffy - a bit uneven at my nail bed and parts of my skin were painted, but overall I was a satisfied customer. Their pedi chairs are a bit old and the massage was very faint (I knew it was on cause I could hear it but it felt like someone gently padding my back rather than massaging it). However, that is not a big deal. The place was very clean indeed but I couldn't tell how many of the tools were being cleaned and how thoroughly between customers. I am leery of catching things as I have in the past gotten myself minor foot fungus from going to chop shops. I'll be sure to update if I encounter any issues in the next week or so. Overall, the whole team was very nice and super cheery, eager to make my experience a pleasant one. Assuming nothing goes wrong in the next few days, I'll definitely be going back again. read more

Called 10 minutes ahead for a pedicure just now (Wednesday evening at 5pm) and was seated immediately. This review wouldn't have even happened had the lady who did my pedicure not given me the best foot and calf massage I've ever had in my life. I don't even know where to start with this review, but if I can give them a zero stars I would. Sadly this salon like most salons in this area are filled with very poor knowledge nail technicians. I hope that the owners will listen to these reviews and take note. Not only did my technician not have a clue of how to start my manicure (by soaking my nails in cold water that barely covered my cuticles then filling them crooked) then she started with my other dry hand by pushing my cuticles and started removing the cuticles right away. At that point I had to stop her and tell her to please remove my cuticles from the other hand that was soaking in cold water. It was a pure mess, after that horrific procedure she stated to paint them, well what can I say the nail polish was all dried up and stood up and said "I get new one" she returned with the same old bottle but put some acetone in it to dilute it. Ladies be mindful of your customers by providing a quality service that we pay our hard earned money for. Provide your technicians with knowledge and constant review on their work. read more

This is officially my first review ever. I have been using YELP for years, and while I have had some good and bad experiences at the places I've yelped, I have never felt inclined to leave a review. Well, today's experience broke that silence. I found Emily's on Yelp and thought that it would be decent from the reviews. It was not good, not decent, not even just okay. The lady who did my nails did a HORRIBLE job. I chose Essie's Wicked, and you can see that the polish was not applied evenly. She clipped my nails and filed it straight across. No cuticle removal on my feet and no shaping of my fingers. My fingernails officially look like a square box. I could have done a better job myself. There were 2 other ladies who were getting pedicures when I got there. I sat down for my pedicure last and I somehow finished first. Now there was a lady there who everyone seemed to like, but alas, I did not get her. So for all of you who are interested in trying this place out, keep this in mind, avoid the lady with sun damage on her face. Sorry, sounds awful, but I didn't catch her name. read more

I love this place. It is no frills but the seats are comfy and the staff is warm. They try to learn your name and are very accommodating. It's also nice that they chat and joke with you if you seem open to it or just let you relax. Most importantly the mani and pedi lasts longer than anywhere I have ever been. The classic french is my favorite as they use a sticker guide and the sprayer to make it look perfect. I always leave with classy nails and a smile on my face. Ling is my absolute favorite for french manicure but everyone does a great job. read more
