Pretty sure the kid didn't torque to spec but who knows. Owner, James, doesn't do the work on cars so it's really up to whatever tech is assigned (high turnover role). Robbie, the secretary/coordinator at the front desk bounces between that role and touching cars and told me he apparently personally cranked the drain plug ‍ sure ig Tried to show grace by explaining that though I understand it's "not their fault", I can't be expected to tow, wait 3 hours, and still pay, when they're operating on a margin and only supplying oil/labor for such a routine operation. Owner took it as a sound bite to alleviate the shop of "legal responsibility". Offered me one (1) complementary oil change which... who could use it after this experience. Thought multiple times about disputing through CC but holidays coming up and knowing how badly the shop fought for my payment made me not want to worry about additional petty recourse. Honestly regret that. ** Just tryna help folks be careful especially on minor operations like oil. Hindsight is that a dealership probably wouldn't need the $65 for oil that badly, and could make you whole after such a poor experience. Obviously there are many good reviews which is why I tried here to begin with but as with any job, it's the way problems/unexpected outcomes are handled that truly show the quality of people. As a business owner, BBB member, pre-law, and new client never had such an awful experience from the moment of arrival until the "owner"/"manager" (he stated he was) replaced my appointment when I went to my car parked right out front to retrieve further payment. I run a caregiving company for families with Dementia and Alzheimer's since 2020 in the valley and can't even fathom treating people the way he did as soon as I presented the Groupon upon arrival. Over the course of a decade alone, I probably have used hundreds of Groupons (for my own work as well to provide great first experiences while they get their feet in the door). He was very young, cocky, short and told me that Groupon wouldn't work for the type of oil my car needed. I expressed that they should be more explicit on the Groupon with specifics, as unless you are familiar with cars insides and outs, would be wasting money as well as time. He began complaining about the Groupons, "The hundreds of times" he has issues with them and "If people keep trying, eventually they will receive a refund with Groupon in the app" (as there is no customer service phone number). I attempted for nearly 20 minutes before going next door to Pep Boys who far exceeded expectations. Natalie was an absolute breath of fresh air who took the time to not only listen to my concerns but even changed the oil for me to help speed things up while taking a big load off her fellow team member. I asked at Eminent Total Care why then do they utilize Groupons if it only causes issues for clients much of the time while the business loses a few dollars, and his response (which from a business perspective would thought to have been to bring in new clients/good relations within the community) yet instead, was "Because we don't need the money!" Little did he know I had $1,000 cash in my brief case as he turned me away, immediately stating "He doesn't have time," and turns out, now it went from Pep Boys gaining my business from a mere oil change to $800 worth of work I found out was needed with plenty more to come on a Toyota RAV that will last me another 200,000 miles. I would like everyone to please take note when selecting one of the hundreds of auto shops that apparently Eminent Total Car Care does not need any money ... I first heard of Eminent when I purchased a Groupon for an oil change 3 years ago. Since then, I have visited Eminent four or five times for oil changes, a radiator flush, and general maintenance checks. Overall, I have been satisfied with the quality of work performed by their mechanics and find their customer service helpful and efficient. The one thing that gives me pause is that when Eminent informed me of a leak in my power steering fluid, they quoted me over $2000 for the repair. To ensure I was getting the best rate, I visited two other shops and was quoted well under $1000 from both shops for the same repair. For that reason, I would recommend getting a second opinion/quote before doing a large repair with Eminent. read more

First off, I feel bad for the mechanics I reached out to when trying to make sure my fiancée was getting a fair deal on her car repair. Unfortunately, this profession doesn't have the best record when dealing with females who aren't familiar with repairs. The owner went above and beyond what he had promised to do and got it done in half the time. And I was able to use that information to call the other repair shop and get them to agree to fix their mistakes. This place is a joke. I pre-paid for an AC recharge on groupon a week ago and was told I needed to call to make an appointment with them. I called last week, told whomever I was speaking with that I purchased an AC service on Groupon and needed to make an appointment to bring my car in for the service. That person told me that they did not take appointments for AC service and that as long as I brought the car in before 3 p.m. anyday I would be fine. Today, I took my car in for the AC service at 10:30 a.m. When I got there, the person behind the desk, who from the onset had an attitude, told me that they did not take walk ins and that that I would have to make an appointment and come back even though I was willing to leave the car with them until the service was done. When I told him that I was told I didn't need to make an appointment, he stated that he was on vacation last week and had it been him talking with me, he would have told me I needed to make an appointment. When I told him it wasnt my fault that I was provided with wrong information he went on to tell me that, as a courtesy, I should have called to let him know I was coming despite having been told I do not need to make an appointment. I was clearly annoyed and frustrated not only with the fact that this person was willing to say "I am sorry," but also because I had PREPAID for the service. When I expressed my frustration in a non-emotional and professional way, this guy ordered me to leave. My girlfriend called later to make and appointment and he told her that the business does not deal with Groupon and would not make an appointment. Horrible. Unprofessional. Rude. And now I am out of $120 because Groupon will not give me a refund. read more

I stopped by this car care shop for a much needed oil change. BIG MISTAKE!!! I work long hours during the week and it is a challenge to accomodate oil changes and car repairs during weekdays. I used Groupon to find the nearest oil change and stumbled upon an oil change coupon from Eminent Total Care expecting a quick, same day service. The hours on the site read Saturday 9:00 am to 4 pm. Based on the proximity of this place to my work location and Saturday hours, I bought the Groupon Coupon...BIG MISTAKE. I called the shop to confirm the appointment the day I bought the coupon only to learn that they are NOT open on Saturdays and that I had to pick an appointment for next week. Newsflash: YOU should have called me to set those details up not the other way round. Disappointment Number 1 On Monday, I took an extended lunch to have the oil changed in my vehicle. Mondays are crazy for work but since I had bought the coupon, I had to stop by. The front desk person was cold in his greeting and looked frustrated with a begallion things he was doing at the time. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 2. He insisted on adding my name to the Groupon App emphasizing it should have been taken care of when I had called to confirm the appointment. His reasoning was he was at a dentist appointment. How is this pertinent to me? Not sure. Well, I tried it didnt work. He said he was making "an exception" for me by accepting my Groupon coupon without my last name. Really?! DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 3 I waited in the waiting area for an hour and 20 minutes for a simple oil change. Guess what? Never once did the guy offered me water or coffee. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 4 Simple oil change should have taken no more than 30 minutes. I am unsure if the tech even knew what he was doing. I will have to ask my vehicle if she is happy with the oil change. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 5 After 1 hour and 20 minutes, I inquired how long will it be since the process was not communicated. The guy responded it is done. Well wouldnt it be nice to do a check in esp since I am sitting in the same room as you. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 6 Finally, my dilemma was over. The guy at the front desk pitched in his diagnostics/oil change sales. I iterated that I am looking for Saturday hours. His response, I cant work 6 days a week and that we have staffing issues due to medical reasons. How is that relevant to me, I am still unsure. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 7. LUCKY 7 OR TERRIBLE 7 on 1/23/23. Horrible! No sense of urgency or customer needs . Cold, scripted, pushy sales and lack of ownership. TOTAL waste of my lunch break. TERRIBLE Experience. Veteran owned business. I randomly chose eminent through a Google search to service my car when my alternator went. After picking my car up, the following the day I had warning signs flashing on my dash again, and James allowed me to bring it back in at no charge. It ended up having to stay there over the weekend and he didn't charge me any storage fees after leaving my car there for 4 days. I'm a woman that doesn't know that much about cars so I often worry about getting mechanics that will just try to get all the money they can out of me and sell me unnecessary parts or repairs. I feel 100% confident that James will not do this to me after my dealings with him this past week and I recommend this repair shop to anybody who wants prompt, reliable service. I have had two of our vehicles serviced with Eminent and hands down the best place in town. They are HONEST, quick, cost effective, and guarantee their work! The service is wonderful and they take care of you from beginning to end. Most recently, my son's a/c stopped working on his car. Eminent was closed when he finally went to get it checked out, so he went to Firestone and the quoted him over $2,500!!! I took him to Eminent this afternoon in about 3 hours, they diagnosed and fixed his issue for less than $150. If you need a dependable and quality repair facility, Eminent is the place to go. I was a customer of the previous owner who was phenomenal, and stayed after it was sold to Eminent. The owner is a veteran who may know something about cars, but nothing about running a business or about keeping customers. He can't keep employees very long and is always short staffed. Excuses, excuses. His mechanic has done a lot of work on my car this year, a couple thousand dollars worth at least, between a fuel pump, a clutch, and I can't remember what else. I took the car back because the clutch is still not working right and is now to the floor. I waited 1 1/2 hours with an appt and still they hadn't seen my car. He called me outside and told me he didn't want me as a customer because I was talking to another customer about the amount of time I had waited with an appt. and he hadn't even put my car up on the rack. He didn't like the "drama"! More like he didn't want to warranty his work and fix his mechanic's mistakes! The phone lines are always busy and the wait on the phone is ridiculous. His attitude always is ridiculous, negative, and very tiring to listen to him whine. He has no skills with the phone or with his customers, let alone with his staff. This is a huge NO. There are plenty of good mechanics and car care places in Tempe. Pass this one by. read more

I must say, I was quite impressed with the communication and customer service -- and felt they went above and beyond. They even helped with advice on other transmission matters, but not in a "sales" type of way. Genuine advice as to what to look for an even called around other shops & dealers to get quotes for me as I sat in the waiting room! They finished working on my car in a timely manner, as they promised -- as I was on a tight schedule. I went in for a standard oil change set up an appointment on the same day. The service was fast and courteous. Was told window regulator broke, could no longer close my car window. No problem before I brought it in. After driving off, thought, hey wait a minute, I had a fine working window going in and not coming out. I called back to discuss the issue. They quickly arranged for same-day replacement of the window regulator without a charge. The service, speed of work and follow up to repair window is the best auto service I have had in Phoenix. I wish I could give more then 5 stars. I originally just went to purchase a battery for my 96 olds 88. That turned into a hole nother thing, an unfortunate loss of an entire engine. That was the horrible outcome but in that I gained a mechanic for life. James the owner took great care of me. He went above and beyond his duties like making sure I received a fair price on the sale my car. He is definitely not only a great mechanic but he's a great business man and runs an honest business, and that is probably the most important thing in a day where that is not very common. Under new ownership; James really takes pride in making sure his team is happy and it shows. In the past week, he's built a break room for his staff (who did not have one before?!) and stocked it up with snacks. He's added power outlets to the waiting room so customer's can charge their phones if they're waiting for their car, and even added a new tv. Just some simple touches that show this guy really cares about the comfort of his staff, and his customers. That being said, the work done on my car was fantastic. They are transparent, quick, and do quality work. They are really great about providing a heads up on what needs to be done next (if anything) and about how long you can wait before tackling it. Honestly, I just had a really great experience from the time I called in to make an appointment until the time I drove off the lot. After using a Groupon to replace the Freon I was informed that anytime my AC has issues inspection would be under warranty. After less than a Month my AC completely stopped working and without agreement to pay anything was told the diagnostic would cost $150.00 after checking it and not signing paperwork without any repairs made.
