We woke up this morning to find our thermostat/AC had seemingly died. After troubleshooting on our own to no avail, we were referred to Emin. Emin arrived within two hours - and on a Saturday. He was warm and friendly and quickly diagnosed our problem which had more to do with a plumbing issue than the AC itself. Not only did he repair our bathroom sink and have the AC running in no time, he was also extremely kind toward and patient with our 3 year old who wanted to watch the whole operation up close. You won't find a more honest, caring and comprehensive company for your HVAC needs!! Back story: We tried turning on our heater a few weeks ago and it shorted immediately. The air conditioner worked fine a few months back. We called our home warranty company (American Home Shield). They sent a technician out who quickly looked at the control panel and found that it had been corroded from some water leakage. (AHS) denied the claim, so I asked for a second opinion through AHS. They sent another technician out from a different company who saw the corroded control panel but did a bit more evaluation to look for the source of the leak. He thought it may be due to a drip tray that was cracked or similar. He stated we would need to replace the coils and control panel at minimum. He submitted the claim to AHS who once again denied the claim due to "secondary damage". I asked the second company for a quote to repair the parts, with them saying we can repair your parts but it would be better long term to upgrade your system through AHS special upgrade program. I said OK give me a quote for both the repair and upgrade, but they kept pushing for the upgrade...for $10K. I decided to get a quote from a company outside of AHS and the technician took a quick look at the machine and said I would need to replace the whole furnace and condenser, quoting at minimum around $16K. I went with my instinct and got one more evaluation with Emins Air Conditioning and Heating...and they sent Angel. Angel was amazing!! He is a former Navy technician and his attention to detail and comprehensive work ethic shows. He took his time looking at the machine and actually tested everything out to see where the actual problem was with the control board. He also searched out a leak, using his detective skills to work backwards and find where it originated from (a hose that was previously cut and had been leaking likely for years). [[HIGHLIGHT]]He talked me through everything he was doing so I could understand as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He found out that I would just need to replace the hose, the control board, and a capacitor for a reasonable $1K. He didn't have the parts with him so he drove to get them and came back that day to fix the problem. He also consulted with his boss when needed to make sure the job got done correctly. And once he got the heater working, he went through several safety checks to make sure everything turned on/off properly. Angel (and Emins) were fantastic. They did not come in trying to make a quick buck. They were comprehensive, efficient, honest, and caring. Emins should be the first (and ONLY) place you should look for your HVAC needs. read more

We just had Emins replace our 20-year-old AC unit with a heat pump. As always they were prompt, fairly priced, and attentive to detail, even checking to make sure that we were okay with the exact placement of the new unit on the pad. They updated all the connections into the house. Our attic has always been tricky to get equipment into and they had the idea to simplify the access by switching to a larger ceiling air return which they did at no extra charge. I never felt like they were trying to upsell, they gave us options, then put in the new heat pump, tested it, and were on their way. I've been a repeat customer of Emins for the past few years. Each time, Angel has come onsite at my rental as well as our own home. He is thorough, transparent, and clearly communicates the findings and issues every step of the way. I needed them to check on the AC unit as my tenants said it wasn't cooling. Pros: very nice. Responsive. Came on time. Brought necessary tools. The technician's boss was involved via phone and providing support to trouble shoot the problem the technician accidentally created (not related to my original AC issue at all). Cons: my capacitor was out, which I knew and told the technician within 5 minutes of him being there. I thought my $150 service charge would include getting that $39 part replaced (which literally requires changing out pins by hand). No more than 5 minutes required. They wanted to charge me $400 for this. I know inflation is high but this felt like price gouging to me. Only reason I hired them was because I didn't want to wait 2 days for Amazon to deliver the capacitor to get my AC fixed. Joke is on me since I lost $150 and had to wait. We got 3 estimates, before my husband decided to hire local 5 star company Emins Air conditioning and heating. The team came at 7:30am sharp just like the appointment time, they worked non stop until everything was done! After diagnosing my ac unit for 5 minutes, Emins was able to pinpoint the problem. He stated that the control board needs to be replaced and he quoted me $1200 to replace the board. I asked him if he was absolutely positive he had pinpointed the problem. He assured me he was 100% positive. After replacing the control board, which took him less than 15 minutes, the ac was working again. Yeahhhhh!!! After he left, the ac would not turn off after reaching the set temperature. I called him back to fix the problem. When he returned, he found that the thermostat wire had been punctured by a screw which caused the problem. But I thought he was absolutely positive that the problem was the control board. He went ahead and replaced a 2 inch segment of thermostat wire and the system was working once again. When he returned for the second time, he wanted to charge me another $150 for the thermostat wire repair. I argued with him that he did not fix the problem the first time and he had no reason to charge me a second time. He relented. Had he diagnosed the problem properly the first time, the repair bill would have been a lot less. I felt like I had been mislead and overcharged. I would not recommend him to anyone. Oh, by the way, if you live in an affluent neighborhood, be prepared to be scammed! read more
