I recently had very bad experiences with other HVAC installation and repair companies. Between…read moregetting charged $3,000 every few months for, "topping off freon" (note: my system was installed new in 2018, so I'm not even sure if freon was the refrigerant the system needed), to proposing a $20k install of a new unit while mind was under warranty (twice), to claiming that my warranty was invalid until I set up an email thread with my HVAC company and my repair team to prove that my system was under warranty, to finally claiming that the local supply shop was "out of parts" for 6 months straight (I eventually called the shop, and they confirmed that they haven't been able to get a response from the repair team.). LONG STORY SHORT, I've been through HVAC hell, and finally decided to go with a new, local company with stellar reviews that recognized my system's warranty. Mario came to inspect the system, identified the repairs that needed to be made, was in and out within 2 hours only a day after I requested service, and not even $500 later I'm enjoying a cool, air-conditioned home. Extra points for not trying to upsell me on an entirely new system (lol - happened to me twice since buying my home, neighbors actually warned me about non-local HVAC companies), AND I can safely say that when I DO eventually need a new HVAC system, I'll be going with Manny's. Professional Contractor here:…read more There are two types of contractors out there, service/handyman contractors and new construction contractors. I want to believe these guys are good at new installs, but they were horrible at diagnosing a problem. I have a problem with my fan coil unit leaking water and shutting off. Leaving me with zero air. I told him what I believe is wrong with the Fan coil unit and other items such as possibly low 410A freon. He quickly jump on that and said " you must have low Freon and that is your problem" without addressing anything else. He then begins to tell me it's $195 per pound for Freon and $2500 to replace all my line sets. I requested he show me the readings and without surprise everything was at normal operating levels and no leak. He then said he had to call a different company to come out and diagnose the problem and they would come back another time. The line set and Freon was not the problem and they were trying to make a quick $800 and overload my system. This would result in an overloaded system and freeze up my unit. Moral of the story, I would not trust the integrity of this company. If you don't know what you are doing just be honest and say " I don't know what's wrong, I can't help you."

I was long overdue for my HVAC revamp. I quoted 3 other companies and Rafik came up with the best quote. That is just half of the deal. The quality, time, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere of their work is worth much more than you get charged. It has been over a month and the installation is impeccable: works like a charm. Personally, Rafik is a great guy that came for a free estimate the evening of the day i called, literally. Just talking to him you already know that all other lined up quotes to compare are just not going to make sense - financial and otherwise. You can sense everything that will happen before even Rafik's work is complete - you can feel it. Other companies tell you to wait for x number of weeks before the parts are ordered, etc. Not the case with these guys: Rafik and the team were ready to drive a distance the day i asked, get everything and start the morning after. Well, I understand this was not the heavy season but still the expectations were different and have been exceeded by leaps and bounds. It took them 2.5 days for a job that required going into holes that no one would dare or would charge exorbitant money to attempt. I can't recommend a better experience for AC emergency repair. When the heat was hitting us at 110 degrees, I was hanging out with a friend who's formerly reliable central air just shut off- while we were out to lunch. And had been blowing the HOT HOT air into the apartment for at least 3 hours. When we walked in it was unbearable- I mean sweltering inside, we immediately had to take the animals over to a neighbor and recool the fish tank. To the point, while she was taking care of them, I called up the first ones to come up on my search for AC Repair Glendale to offer same day service and provided a quote over the phone. Like Rafik promised over the phone they were super quick to come over and get the AC back up. The service ended up being under the quoted price as apparently, two girls aren't great at diagnosing Central Air issues. Can definitely say if my AC goes down they'll be my first choice just from a very efficient past experience, although very personable the technician was very focused and clearly knew what he was doing (this without a doubt brought us peace of mind that an experienced contractor was handling the issue). We were back to a sweet 75 degrees in about 3 hours. read more

We called American Clean Air after receiving a recommendation from a contractor friend. We wanted them to review of our house to have a full HVAC system installed for the first time. We have an old house and there was concern about how a traditional system would fit. They arrived on time the next day and we decided to use them based on their knowledge of the systems they install, and quoted costs. they started the next day, and had the whole system up and running in less than 3 days. They worked efficiently, quietly and cleaned up completely after themselves. Rafi, his father, and his coworker came to my house to install a new air conditioning/heating unit. All of them were very courteous and made sure to cover all the floors and clean up after themselves. By the time they were done, there was no trace of them except for the great work they did on the new unit. Rafi was very kind to explain how the new unit worked and even gave me advice on what set temperatures to use to keep the unit working well. This company is very family oriented and does more than just fix your air and/or heat. Rafi even helped my daughter change a few light bulbs that were out in the house. American Clean Air is awesome! My AC was out and I called on a Friday evening. They came to my house at 7AM on a Saturday right on time and fixed everything in less than an hour. The best part was having Rafik walk me through everything he was doing, explain what to look for and do myself and discuss upgrading my system in the future without being salesy or pushing me to do anything now. When I first moved to Los Angeles, no one ever told me that it gets really really really hot and really really really cold. Well, it does that. So I lived in a bunch of terrible apartments before actually getting a real one. The real one came with am AC unit. It broke a lot. When my AC unit broke for the 4th time. These guys came by and 1) were surprisingly prompt, 2) actually came on time, 3) weren't creepy, and 4) when we had to reschedule, they didn't make me feel like it was my fault. Rafik and his men do outstanding work - we not only got a new unit that is higher grade, custom work to fit and a new electrical box but they also replaced ducting, vents, digital thermostat, and all openings for better flow and a quieter system. I am a recent millennial aged koreatown tenant and the mistake of moving into a shitty koreatown apartment with an AC unit built in. Rafik and his team are excellent. he responded to my call in 5 mins. He came to look at my central heater and did his assessment. It was broken BTW. He gave his honest opinion. He said it is repairable but not recommended as the unit is super old. He suggested to replace it. He came on Saturday and removed old unit and installed new furnace on Saturday to get our heater going for the cold weekend. His service is fast. I would recommend him. read more

From the beginning, I was required to pay the full amount upfront before any work started, which I later found concerning. One major issue was related to asbestos. Every other contractor I received quotes from had already included asbestos removal costs in their total estimate, which is common for older homes in the Burbank area. Although this company had already visited the property and inspected it beforehand to provide an estimate--just like other contractors--they suddenly raised asbestos concerns in the middle of the project and stopped the work. The project was then delayed for over a week, and despite multiple attempts to contact them, I received little to no response. Later, they even requested additional charges. The scheduling and communication were extremely frustrating throughout the entire process. I repeatedly adjusted my personal schedule to accommodate their work. In particular, on Friday, the project manager directly told me that they would come on Saturday to complete the remaining work. Based on that, I stayed home and waited. However, no one showed up, no one contacted me, and later I was simply told that they do not work on Saturdays and that I should call the office myself to reschedule. There was not even a proper apology. It is also unreasonable to expect the customer to coordinate scheduling, as it is the contractor's responsibility to manage the schedule and complete the project once the work has started. From my experience, it felt like the company schedules work based on their own convenience and profit, rather than respecting the customer's time and commitments. While the technicians on site were polite and hardworking, the overall project management, scheduling, and communication were very disappointing. I also wonder whether requiring full payment upfront before the work even began aligns with standard practices or regulations in California. I chose this company specifically because of Costco, and I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability.

Long over due review…read more Grateful to have worked with Sasoun on the install for a heat pump and ducting for a new construction ADU in summer 2025. We received multiple estimates and Sasoun stood out from the pack. He is on time, honest, provided fair pricing on quality equipment (carrier) and was just wonderful from estimate to install completion. We have since used CalStar to do repairs on our main home AC. He was quick to get parts and repair before an upcoming heatwave. We always appreciate how prompt and honest he his with any questions or issues we have with our systems. We also used him to install mini split in our garage. Every job we have done with Sasoun we have been very happy with. He is truly a professional who is skilled in his trade, honest, fair and just an awesome human being all around.
