I can see why Robert hall and sons has a perfect score on Yelp. We moved into our flipped home two years ago and noticed we were consistently getting more air on one side of the house and almost no air on the other. The lack of even flow of air became even a bigger issue during the winter with the heat in the already dry California weather. Our kids were always getting dry skin and nose bleeds from the ov while the other layered on for warmth. We knew this fix was not going to be cheap bc we had homeowners warranty and insurance who sent our and ac guy. Basically our ac unit wasn't big enough for our house along with other minor issues. We could get a second unit or replace our unit. I researched on Angie's list, home advisor and yelp. I had 4 different people come out. One company that was referred from Angie's list would not give me a break down of the estimate and what it all included. Terrible manners. Another company I found from yelp who had high reviews and over 109 reviews, came out, checked out the ac and the attic but simply said this is a winter job and passed up the job. Another company was from a contractor and it was going to cost a lot AND I wasn't confident that they were going to be hands on and on the job site. So I contacted Robert hall & sons and mike came out to give the estimate. He went to the attic and assessed the situation, was professional and followed up. After a week of back and forth and more questions/ answers, we decided to go with Robert Hall & sons. They (his team of three trucks) showed up two days ago at 7am ready to work. You can sense unison in the way his team worked. No loud music or unnecessary convos...just focused work and communication from his team, In and out in two days. The job was suppose to take 3 days. I also made one change (the location of the second ac unit and talked to mike mid way through the process and he was accommodating about the change. They also cleaned up appropriately inside (no trash outside). I can appreciate who will treat my home with respect and not leave their lunch or drinks behind. During a heat wave I called them at 7:45 am they returned my called within 15 minutes. Told me they would be out between 9 am and 1:00pm. Showed up around 10:15. I honestly thought my compressor went and I was gonna pay atleast 1,000. The tech went up came down and told me it was the capacitor and would cost 375.00 to replace. I was so impressed. They gave us a 4-hour window on a Sunday, and then came within the first hour. Thank goodness. We weee melting! The courteous gentleman who came assessed the situation and quickly found the issue and corrected it. I was in the market for a new A/C coil and condenser. I got professional estimates from 3 other HVAC companies, but ultimately chose Robert Hall & Sons because of their fair prices, great reviews on Yelp, Angie's List, and also directly recommended from the manufacturer! How about that!!?? We wanted to relocate the existing 2yr old furnace and the A/C coil from a closet inside the house to the attic. And the condenser was on the rooftop, and needed a change out. This is not an easy job and you need to hire someone that has years of experience and knows what the heck they are doing!! Installation is the most critical component of your new HVAC system and if you hire the wrong company, you will be upset and disappointed with your new system and also wasting money!! Mike Hall came to my property to see the scope of work. He was professional and straight forward. He provided a verbal quote as we discussed options on site, and followed up 2days later with an detailed quote. When we moved forward with the job, Mike said that his crew could bang out this job in one day and that he does this type of job all the time (other HVAC companies were going to take 2-3 days). On installation day, 5 guys and Mike showed up at 7am on the dot, wearing company sweatshirts and t-shirts, were a synchronized team, and Mike even pitched in. That's 6 guys attacking this project. By 8am, the old condenser was out, and new one in. No crane needed. ($500 saved right there!!). By lunch time, the units inside the attic were all in place. Installation was completed, tested, and running perfectly by 3:30pm!! A short time later, I had a few issues with the dampers and vibrating noises from the condenser. Mike came to the house within a few days and made the adjustments at no charge. I am writing this review 7 months after the attic relocation/installation and the furnace worked great in the winter time and the new A/C works wonderfully in this hot summer !! I cannot recommend this company enough! It's summer and our AC just wasn't working. I did a Google search and tried my own troubleshooting. I noticed ice on our refrigerant line and Google said we should change the filter. It helped, but still wasn't cooling down our house. So we called Robert Hall & Sons and they came out the next day to take a look. I thought we needed more refrigerant. But after the technician looked at our system, he noticed the fan wasn't blowing as much as it should. So after a few minutes of investigating, he noticed that unit was WIRED INCORRECTLY. He opened up the unit and after a couple of minutes or rewiring, our AC has never worked better. These guys are fast, friendly and courteous, but most importantly, EXPERTS at their work. I have been a customer for about 5 years and if you can get a response they do a great job. On their site they say responses are 100% and the response times are about 20 minutes. In 5 years I have never experienced that. It's always several calls and days before a response even during mild weather. Over the last few days I have called repeatedly and left messages with zero response. I know they must be very busy but a response for a future appt seems to be the professional thing to do. I can't complain about the work and the people but what good is it if they never respond. Desperately looking for another company. I have changed my review to 5 stars because Robert came out personally to get the system running again. Apparently they have been inundated with calls and the phone system has been overwhelmed .
