My lord did I dodge a bullet with this place. I have never felt compelled to write a review for a…read morebusiness, but the dishonesty, incompetence and price gouging of this place is remarkable. I almost got over charged by 25k. I called Alex's Autohaus to get a price quote to have some brake and suspension upgrades and a couple fluid services. Initially when I had called, the lady who I spoke with wasn't sure if they installed adjustable shock absorbers. Should have been the first red flag. I was then transferred over to one of the mechanics to talk about the upgrades I had requested, which were brand specific. The mechanic seemed to know a little more, but still seemed very unsure about what parts I was requesting. Additionally, when I told him my vehicle, which is a 991, he thought that was a Cayman. I reaffirmed with him that they do indeed do this kind of work and i was assured that they had done many installs like the one I was requesting on Porsches in the past. I receive a quote later that night for just shy of.... FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. As in $50,000.00 or an average persons yearly salary to have brakes, shocks, and suspension arms, and coolant replaced on a 911. Not only was the quote about 30k beyond what was verbally quoted, he also decided to quote me for a different brand of brakes. This is where this story gets awful. I called the mechanic again and asked what the differences were between the brakes that were quoted, versus the brakes I requested and he had NO IDEA. I tried looking up the differences myself, but I was only able to find brake sets that were thousands of dollars cheaper from Brembo. I assumed I was finding the wrong part. The mechanic assured me again the Brembo brakes were good, but expensive and they would fit OEM wheels and again reaffirmed had done these types of projects before. He had sent me a link with the brakes from Brembos website and immediately, in big, bold red text it says: "Factory 18 inch wheel will not fit over these calipers. You must install 19 inch wheels or larger." These guys were going to charge me 50 thousand dollars and then come back and tell me my wheels wouldnt fit on the car. To add icing to the cake, I discovered I wasn't looking at the wrong parts before. They were just marking the brakes up by 10,000 dollars. Yes, 10k mark up on BRAKES. Brakes that would not fit on my car. The mechanic lied to me and said they were $5,000 per corner and you can literally purchase the whole kit online for a retail price of $4600 for the front brakes, and $3,800 for the rear. While all this was occurring, I had received a price quote from Makes and Models, another shop but in the Salt Lake area. The price came out to twenty thousand dollars less, and they managed to get the correct brakes on the quote and he advised me I did not need some of the items I was quoted, and that every item I was quoted, was marked up over $1,000 on every single job. I am gathering these people couldn't point out a Porsche in a parking lot, let alone be trusted to work on one. And if you're unfortunate enough to have Derrick as your mechanic, bring a suitcase full of cash to pay for all the wrong parts he's going to order for you. I will be very sure that all the guys at my Porsche club are made aware of the theft this business attempts. It looks like from the other reviews this isn't a one time thing. Their most common review is 1/5 stars.

However, they told me to come back with in 30 days when I get the issue fixed and they wouldn't charge me another inspection fee. I came today to finally get it passed, and apparently all locations are permanently closed. I tried calling all the phone numbers to get some kind of help and no one answered. All maps and website list them as open still. I feel robbed of my $40 and I'm mad no one gave me a warning they'd be shutting down permanently. I want a refund.

Got introduced to this place by the Yelp Elite program recently, and was thinking of doing my next…read moreoil change with them in couple of months. But them suddenly one morning (just a few hours before kids' long awaited doctor's s appointment of course!) my Honda van won't start...it seemed like my battery was down. I called couple of mechanic shops but none of them could squeeze me in for same day check up. But when I called the State Automotive and explained them my situation, Dustin told me that they will do an inspection on my battery ASA I reach them and will change it if needed. Long story short...after going there I found out that the previous mechanic who changed the battery and gave me a "Napa" battery (found the info in the receipt), & then charged me for it and the service in 2017 actually DID NOT replace my original Honda battery from 2013 :/ When I asked, Dustin was super nice and took pictures of the old battery and wrote a description for me so I can show that to the old mechanic and texted me those later that day. I really appreciate the help and (quick) service they provided me that day, and thanks to them I was able to make to the doctor's appointment on time :) Thank you so much for all great service! Will definitely recommend them to my friends and family, and I'll be going back myself as well. #ServiceStarShoutOut

I went in today for an oil change and road trip inspection. The price was really good! The guys I…read moreinteracted with were friendly. And I really appreciated their honesty! They told me my car was great and didn't need any additional work. I feel extra good about going on a road trip now! AND they have free hot cocoa. Any place with a free treat means my kids aren't mad about coming with me and waiting! PS- their parking lot is pretty "intimidating" (employee's words) but they were cool with me abandoning my car where there was space and at the end they helped me get my car into position for an easy exit so don't be afraid to ask! They were very nice about it!
