The good: The angel pizza was truly angelic. It looked like the photo online and tasted better than I predicted. I would definitely order that again. Another huge hit was the shaved brussel sprout salad. If you don't like brussel sprouts, you might change your mind after eating this. The combination of brussel sprouts with the cherries, blue cheese and miso dressing was the perfect combination I would never think to curate. The waffle fries were seasoned and good. The bad: The price is a little much. $18 for a salad without the protein is steep in my opinion. I paid $8 extra for grilled chicken that looked good but was dry, flavorless, and inedible. To be honest, had the chicken not been so terribly bad, and the prices were a little lower, 3/4 items were closer to 5/5.

Some important details. The food is really great, and if you're coming for the food, I highly recommend this place. The service, however, isn't great. It seems like a lot of college students working their first service jobs, so they're inexperienced and pretty disorganized. They were also out of so many drinks. Every time we ordered a drink, our waiter would come back and tell us they were out of it. The restaurant is also very loud. Everything echoes off the walls, and we were practically yelling across the table just to understand each other. Overall, if you want good food, definitely try it out! But considering the service, drink availability, and noise level, there's definitely room for improvement.

Delicious Chicago style pizza. Maybe the best gluten free crust I've ever had. We got a pineapple jalapeño pizza with vegan cheese and the chili pineapple sauce, and it was legitimately spicy and delicious. We also bought a mushroom, green olives basil pizza with the traditional tomato sauce and it was savory and delicious. The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance casual but with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating!

I don't know how Detroit pizza got on my radar, but now that's it's here, it's here to stay. We stopped at Emmy Squared on our way out of town, based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge, and I am so glad we did. The restaurant was busy due to a large team in the front room, but that didn't put a dent in our service. Our son ordered wings, which he absolutely loved, and we split a pizza and the brussels sprouts salad. The salad was shaved brussels sprouts, house-pickled red onions, crunchy cashews, tangy blue cheese, and sweet dried cherries, married with a vibrant miso dressing. It was heavenly and there was not a bit left. We also just had a simple cheese pizza: the crust was crispy and light, the sauce flavorful and the cheese delicious. We ordered larger per our server's suggestion so we could take leftovers. Can't wait to visit again!

Despite being a chain, the pizza is always unbelievable. Anytime I have a chance to get this incredible Detroit style pizza, I do. The rest of the menu looks great as well, but I'm only there every once in a while and am dying for the pizza.

This gluten free pizza is out of this world. I forgot for a bit that it was gluten free. Staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. Will definitely find a way to get back.

We spent day visiting Athens about 1.2 hours from home. Planned on grabbing pizza on way out of town. Great service as we had a drink while pizza was being made. And very happy when we got home.. we will be back when in town!

Incredible. By far the best pizza in town. I would eat this as my last meal, and every meal before then too.

I opted for their regular Grindhouse burger that had caramelized onions mixed in with the double patties and cheese. It was sloppy, but delicious. Their crinkle fries come out crispy as well, no soggies! Got a side of cheese sauce for dipping and it had a little kick that I liked. The interior is small so seating is limited.

Great service even for takeout. Lady was upset sweet and gave us suggestions also didn't rush us. Cute and casual vibe. Mocha milkshake - 8/10 a little too sweet for me and wished it was more coffee flavor but solid Frings- I wish they gave us more it was just a couple of each but sweet potato fries were 10/10 AMAZING. O-rings were a lil under seasoned but 7/10 Cheesy puffs- very interesting texture. Wish it was a bit spicier but have t had something like this. Would have also appreciated more crunch. Great with chipotle ranch. LOVE 9/10 Turkey burger lettuce wrapped - this was so funny! I go pretty much a whole half head of lettuce. Great flavor even without the cheese. 8/10 Brussel sprouts - good flavor but a little burnt. Love the glaze a bit greasy tho 8/10

Casual, friendly place for a variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches…read more Food : Food is good. We tried the traditional groove burger and a lamb burger. Both were very good with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The fried okra is whole -not sliced like most recipes, and it was done in a tasty batter that was not too heavy . There is a bar but we didn't try the drinks, so I can't comment on them. Service : Service is excellent. Our waitress, Sawyer, was very helpful, pleasant, and attentive. The manager checks on customers and makes sure everything is working well. Location : Very convenient location among other restaurants and a variety of stores in the busiest shopping area in Athens-near the exits from highways and the perimeter loops. Facility: Clean, cheerful, and tables are not crowded together. Multiple TVs for a variety of interests. There is lots of free parking in this strip mall. There are outdoor tables for good weather days. There was not loud music like we have endured in several other burger locations. We could have a conversation easily on this restaurant. We will be happy to return in the future. .

We ordered the jalapeno fries, a steak sandwich with fries and a Groove burger. The jalapeno fries were good. A different take on a"popper" but tasty. The steak sandwich was very flavorful and full or sirloin. Hogie roll was as perfect. The groove burger was good. The bacon and cheddar had the most flavor profile so everything else took a backseat to it. I expected more from the name sake burger. Overall, it was a good stop. We'd order the steak sandwich again for sure but try others things for the remainder.

From the moment we arrived, it was obvious this place has built a loyal following. The setup is simple: place your order, grab a seat, and enjoy. What made me laugh was that many of the "tables" are surrounded by lawn chairs. It's not what I expected, but somehow it fits the laid-back personality of the place perfectly. There are a few traditional tables available, but the lawn-chair seating adds to the charm. I ordered the "My Pleasure" biscuit, which comes with fried chicken, egg, and cheese. The chicken was flavorful, and the sandwich was very tasty overall. The chicken was a little dry when combined with the biscuit, but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. It was still a satisfying breakfast and easy to see why it's a popular menu item. If you're looking for a quick, casual, and uniquely Athens breakfast experience, Cafe Racer is worth a stop. Good food, reasonable prices, and enough personality to make the meal memorable.

It was good, mostly for the tangy avocado sauce upon it. Second, the tater taco, it was just too much potato and not much else. Ratio was off. Third, and I saved best for last: Pickleback. OMG. YALL. This crazy taco was insanely good. It was "mustard sausage" with a "breakfast sauce" and some dill pickles. When I say it was good... wuh. I'm a foodie, and I was blown away. So tangy, juicy and FULL of flavor. Perfect blend of fatty sausage, mustard, sweet sauce and tangy pickles. I can't say enough about it. They really hit it outta the park. The coffee was good. We will be back, if only for that savage lil taco. Yes, service was polite and efficient. Despite a double line of cars that would make Chik-fil-A jealous. We went to the window and they had old timey style beach chairs. Wife and daughter didn't want to eat there, so back to the Air-B-n-B.
