Both were very good with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The fried okra is whole -not sliced like most recipes, and it was done in a tasty batter that was not too heavy . There is a bar but we didn't try the drinks, so I can't comment on them. Service : Service is excellent. Our waitress, Sawyer, was very helpful, pleasant, and attentive. The manager checks on customers and makes sure everything is working well. Location : Very convenient location among other restaurants and a variety of stores in the busiest shopping area in Athens-near the exits from highways and the perimeter loops. Facility: Clean, cheerful, and tables are not crowded together. Multiple TVs for a variety of interests. There is lots of free parking in this strip mall. There are outdoor tables for good weather days. There was not loud music like we have endured in several other burger locations. We could have a conversation easily on this restaurant. Small, clean place in the shopping area off Epps Bridge. In town for an appointment and looking for something local. We ordered the jalapeno fries, a steak sandwich with fries and a Groove burger. The jalapeno fries were good. A different take on a"popper" but tasty. The steak sandwich was very flavorful and full or sirloin. Hogie roll was as perfect. The groove burger was good. The bacon and cheddar had the most flavor profile so everything else took a backseat to it. I expected more from the name sake burger. Overall, it was a good stop. Outdoor seating on a beautiful day with good service were big pluses. But the Italian beef was not an authentic version that I had hoped for. Yes, one may put cheese on the Italian beef, but then it automatically is not "authentic" because it becomes a crossover then. This is not to be a French dip sandwich or a Philly cheesesteak. It's the Chicago Italian beef which is supposed to have four components that must all work together: thin sliced roast beef, the au jus, hard roll/bun, giardiniera. That's it. I thought the sandwich was good, but just not authentic. The beef was a little thicker cut but ample quantity. The giardiniera was plenty hot but scant, so they did promptly bring a side portion for me, the au Jus didn't have the same spice mixture and was more of a French dip than the spicier Italian beef and usually I get mine dunked, so this was just a side dip, but off the flavor of IB. I think the cheese used was Havarti, which is interesting, even though it's not supposed to be there, one would have expected provolone or mozzarella. I also had a couple of onion rings, very heavily breaded, cooked to perfection but tasted like fried chicken more than onion ring. This is not a negative review since the food was good and price/value was also good, it's just that neither item was "authentic" to the original target. I would eat here again in a heartbeat and most definitely order a burger because that is their thing. read more

That kind of hospitality always elevates a meal. The onion rings were the absolute star. Perfectly crisp and golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Easily some of the best I've had and worth ordering every time. The burgers were solid and cooked as ordered, and the buns deserve special mention -- super soft, fresh, and a great complement to the patties without falling apart. The pimento cheese, however, was a bit underwhelming and didn't quite deliver the flavor punch I was expecting. Very good variety of the menu. Lots of options for people who may not like or be able to eat a traditional beef burger, or want to try new things. The Big Dill burger was a nice twist with lighter toppings than some of the other burgers but it had a nice zing to it with the Dill sauce. The sweet potato chips are perfectly thin and crunchy. The cheese and sauce add a great salty and savory addition. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks full. There was no extra charge for more sauce for the burger so that was a huge plus. The ambiance is nice with low volume music and an open inviting space. There is not a whole lot of sound absorption, so large or loud parties at other tables may be a bit obnoxious, but that was not the case when I ate here. We stopped in after a Costco run for a later lunch on a chilly Saturday. The place was decently busy with people wrapping up their lunches (by the time we left it had cleared out a bit). The ambiance is kinda garage-y and they seem to take a minimalist approach to things. Our cutlery were real metal but our drink cups were styrofoam even though we were dining in. It was my first time here and I opted to get the Taco Burger. My husband got the Big Dill. Our server was really attentive and friendly. All burgers are served a la carte (so if you want fries and a drink you must order them separately) and they have things like sandwiches as well. The Big Dill came with a really tasty dill cream sauce that I dipped my fries into. My husband really enjoyed it. Unfortunately my Taco Burger fell a bit short. Despite being described as "a Taco seasoned burger with spicy ranch, pepperjack, lettuce tomato and a dollop of guacamole" it was pretty plain. If there was taco seasoning on the burger I could not taste it at all nor could I taste the spicy ranch or pepper jack (I just observed that it had a melted white cheese on it). To me it was just an ordinary cheeseburger with lettuce tomato and guacamole. It still tasted good, it just wasn't what I was expecting based on the description. Overall I would still return since the burger was still decent, I just would order something else for sure. read more

I came in for a late lunch with my son. We were quickly greeted and seated. My son ordered a groove burger. Sides are not included so it definitely isn't a cheap lunch. He ordered a side of fries. He said the burger was excellent and the fries were definitely delicious. He let me try them and they were nice and hot and full of flavor. I had a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. The burgers were all delicious. However, the brussel sprouts tasted like charcoal. Maybe it's because we went half an hour before closing. The Mac and cheese side was also very basic tasting. We also had to ask for utensil sets since there were three of us and they only initially gave us one, which seems a bit odd. Went back today for lunch..... not so good. The waitress took our order and it came out fast. The onion rings were piping hot. Perfect. The Poutain was Not good... the dish was cold in spots. The gravy may have been hot but the caramelized onions were cold and the fries were too.... Yuck. Dakota came back and I let her know that the dish was cold.... We came in on a Sunday evening while the weather was nice. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. I order the Apple and Nut Salad with Apple Vinaigrette and Fried Chicken and my friend ordered the Groove Burger. The salad was very light and delicious! I love when salads contain fruits: cranberry raisins and green apple. The fried chicken was CRISPY. I usually don't like chicken but the meat was tender and crunchy! I came for the salad but stayed for the chicken. My friend usually eats a lot and the burger alone filled him up. Service was very friendly as we walked in and at the table. The manager that was on duty on 2/11/25 at 12:45pm felt very comfortable talking to me in a loud and demeaning tone in front of the other customers because I told her that my order was wrong. She chose to be rude and it was totally unnecessary, Also instead of making my burger over which was needed due to the difference between what I ordered and what I received, she had the cook add some ingredients to the burger that I had. It was not good and they didn't even warm my sweet potato fries up. I am so disappointed about how I was treated and about my food. I have had many positive experiences at this restaurant but I don't think that I will be going back. This manager needs some customer service lessons. read more

Perfect crunch on the outside with a thick batter. Biting in the center was soft and juicy. Dusted with sea salt. Served with a special sauce, but it was not needed. I then tried the mushroom burger . Beef, mushrooms, Gouda cheese. Lettuce and tomato. Asked for medium rare. Bun was soft. Lettuce soggy, tomatoes sliced thick, mushroom sautéed and flavorful, Burger....hard, over cooked no flavor. Pulled it off the bin and finished without the beef. Employees were pleasant and they were being socially distant. Will return only for the fried mushrooms. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Their food is fabulous, they have gluten free options, fast and helpful service, and every single time I've eaten here it has been absolutely delicious. I just wish they had more seating! But I do love the bar option for quick service when the tables are full.
