I tried this place for the 2nd time and ordered hibachi chicken. It was just absolutely nothing like real hibachi chicken. The rice was overly moist and mushy. The chicken was pretty dry and bland. Only thing from me not going with a 5 was the food took a good amount of time to get to me (which isn't always bad, means it's being made fresh) and me not getting mushrooms with my dish. This is one of my top 5 restaurants to hit when I go back to Wichita. Think of those delicious hibachi restaurants where they cook in front of you, but in a fast food setting. Usually I go here fast Japanese stir fry food, and they don't disappoint. The plus is that they are down the street from me as well. But on this occasion my taste buds just wanted a ginger salad. This place bums me out cause the food is super yummy but I hate going to get it. The staff is less than friendly and acts as if you are putting them out. The restaurant itself is just nasty. Feet stick to the floor, tables and countertops are filthy. I've only heard the stories of bugs. I really wish they would make an effort to clean the place up and teach their employees some customer service skills. We used to say "we will give it one more try" cause the food really is that good. I'm a huge fan of hibachi, so I've been to Emperor's several times. The food is good and the service is quick. I like the fact that they have lots of sauces to choose from at the condiments bar. My only complaints would be that the pieces of chicken are way too small and not enough in the meal and that they put more mushrooms than chicken in it. Better show up with an empty stomach because Emperor's always provides plenty of food. Out of all the places in Wichita, this is probably the best bang for your buck. The hibachi is my go-to. Crab Rangoon is also very good. Sometimes the tables can get pretty dirty, so it's probably not a great choice for a date or a business lunch. read more

If you like Japanese hibachi style food and don't want to awkwardly sit with strangers while the chef puts on a "show" you should eat here. The food has been consistently good and is inexpensive, I usually get 2-3 meals from one entree. The restaurant could use some attention to cleanliness, the tables are usually dirty and your feet will stick to the floor from the grease- so I would recommend taking your order to go. I always love eating here and find their food good. However, I called in to make a to go order 30 minutes before closing time. The man on the phone said "we are closed" I answered with oh on ur website it says you're open still. He just hung up. I called back from a different number he answered "fuck you too" and hung up on me again. Very rude customer service. There are no excuses for such occurrences and an apology is definitely warranted. In our attempt to apologize, we did offer to re-cook the meal, return money back for the meal, as well as offering a $20 gift card, but nothing can justify the error that was taken place, which had the potential of causing serious harm. I teach my employees the correct guidelines that obey to the Kansas Health Department; however, it seems that human error occurred in this situation. We got there an hour and a half before the store closed and the lady was very rude to us and she told us that they were about to close when we still had over an hour left and gave us our food in a bag and Togo boxes even tho we were sitting at the table and even worse she kept pressuring us to leave even tho we had 45 mins finally we just took our food and left... defiantly not going back there and I will be telling other people not to come there too read more

Don't bother dining in. I will never understand why places think it is a good idea to keep dine-in customers waiting while only fulfilling carryout orders. There was 3 other tables with people, 1 of which already had their food and after 15 minutes of waiting I just asked for a refund. During that time only 1 table partially got their food (just the appetizers) yet many carryout customers came and went. It's a shame because my wife and I really like the food. read more
