Delicious sushi! Fresh fish (salmon, tuna, yellow tail), red clam and grilled eels. Love how they don't use fillers (cucumber/tempura/asparagus crumbs) like other sushi places in their maki rolls. Jacky finally able to hire a new server. He mentioned after COVID he had a hard time finding helpers/servers for his restaurant. My favorite sushi place. Service is still a little slow but it is understandable since it is being run by one person.

My fiancé and I wanted to try a sushi from a place we haven't been before and just chose randomly from what was around us lmao. When we first walked it, it was completely empty and tbh we were a bit skeptical because we can be picky when it comes to sushi service was just fine. We tried the crab ragoons and the Philadelphia Tempura Maki and WOW we were blown away!!!! we were surprised we loved it so much! we were saying "why aren't there more people here??"

Late night pho run... Only place for pho in Wichita that's open this late. I'll start with my dish-- the pho. The broth was pretty good and full of flavor. The meat was a bit chewy and wasn't the typical thin slices that you'd expect in most pho. The ONLY thing I would add/change, is thinner meat and maybe some mint. They brought jalapeños and bean sprouts but no mint. Which isn't a big deal at all. My husband got the combo fried rice... I LOVED it!!! He didn't think it would be any good because it didn't come out like typical fried rice, but I looooved the flavor of it! If you've never been here, it's def worth checking out.

This was my first time trying this place, and boy, was it a mistake! I should have gone to Sapporo instead. We ordered online and I picked up at the restaurant. I ordered a grilled salmon salad; what I got was salmon skin covered in avocado on a lettuce garnish (see photo). This salad was also $8.50. Sapporo's salad is big enough for an entire meal and costs less. Also, the it took the staff fifteen minutes and two different cards to accept the payment. My husband ordered two rolls. One roll was supposed to be fried and come with a sauce; it was neither fried nor served with sauce. The second roll was supposed to be served without mayo; it was still served with mayo. However, he did say both were tasty. All in all, I will not be returning to this establishment, and I recommend you try Sapporo at Kellogg and Rock instead.

Good sushi, pho, and fried rice! The owner works hard to make great food and does it all. He's a one man show so when it's busy expect to wait, it's just part of the ambiance that makes it great.

not ur typical sushi restaurant, its very quiet, it stays open up until 2AM which makes it a bit skeptical. but the food was delicious the wait for our walk in wasn't long at all will definitely be going back and recommending

You don't go to Jacky Chan for the fanciest or tastiest sushi in town. You go here because it opens really late compared to any other restaurant in Wichita, and offers a really diverse and unique menu, where you can finally find something you like and stick to it. I'm not a fan of their rolls, but love their Spicy Octopus Temaki (hand-rolled cone) and the baked mussels appetizer. Their fried rice and noodles are also pretty tasty! Service wise, you get a range of good to inattentive services from time to time. But given it being pretty slow most of the time, I don't expect them to hire 2-3 waiters super late at night to cater to me. I'm just glad they're open late and always strive to maintain the food quality no matter what time of the day it is. Owner and waiters are super laid back and friendly as well. In conclusion, just eat the damn sushi and be thankful that you can have that after midnight in Wichita.

The sushi was fine but I think I just had a bad experience because the waitress spent most of our time making home deliveries instead of waiting on us. They even forgot one of our sushi rolls completely. I had to go up to the front to get our soda refills myself. And we were there almost 2 hours before my boyfriends PHO came to the table. Then the PHO was served with a large metal spoon instead of the traditional Chinese spoon. This was a sticking point for him not necessarily myself. We enjoyed ourselves anyway and had a good laugh.

We came in as a party of five at 8:30pm, fully aware they close at 9. We ordered quickly and respectfully, excited to enjoy one of my favorite dishes: the chicken katsu. I've raved about it to friends, especially the generous portions--normally two large, pounded-out chicken breasts per order. But tonight was a different story. We ordered a bibimbap, 10 wings, a roll, gyoza, a child's katsu, tempura and two chicken katsu meals (close to $20 each). For our katsus instead of full portions, it was obvious the kitchen split one order between both plates--then handed the scraps to the child's meal, which we were told would be "half" an adult size. It wasn't even close. Not only was the portion insulting, but the food wasn't fresh. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and hard as a rock. I couldn't even bite through one piece--I had to spit it out. When we brought it up, they offered 10% off. Honestly, that felt like a slap in the face. I had just convinced people to come here based on how good this meal used to be, and instead I ended up apologizing to my guests for bringing them here and still paid for meals we weren't fully served. If you were low on chicken, in a rush to close, or just had a lazy cook that night--own it. Don't try to pass off a single meal as two. That's not just disappointing--it's dishonest. This experience was a joke. And if that's how regulars get treated, I will regular no more.

The sushi was wrapped really loosely and fell apart while I picked it up with chopsticks. My husband's beef teriyaki was good and he had no qualms on the flavor but again presentation was a little messy. Service was good. They refilled our waters and soda without issue. The food came out sporadically and was not sent out together, which left my husband waiting to eat while my food got cold (crispy rice) and then warm (sushi), respectively. Ambiance was dark and moody. Like hard to see dark; there was not enough light from the tiny candle on the table to make up for it. I get the vibe but I would opt for more light overall. The decorations on the walls were tasteful. The overhead lighting felt like they raided the outdoor patio light section of Lowe's when it was clearance in the seasonal garden section. The Tiber on the walls was nice but again felt a bit DIY. My biggest issue was with the tableware. I understand that disposable chopsticks are easier than reusable ones but honestly it would have elevated the meal a lot for me. I know it's picky but for the vibe and location it seems like it would have been an easy add.

To be fair, we got there a bit past 7:30...maybe they were winding down? It felt like we caught them mid renovation or something. The service was the biggest letdown. Our young server was nice but her inexperience was painfully obvious as she nervously fumbled to answer basic questions about the menu. I'm not newbie shaming because we've all gotta start somewhere. But at least avoid putting anyone on the floor solo until they learn the menu. She had to summon another server a few times who looked overloaded herself. And our original server didn't stick around to shadow. My hubs ordered noodles which came 10 minutes before my rolls. After my rolls came, we were an afterthought. I had to wave the server down for pretty standard stuff like wasabi and a drink refill. We even ended up swiping napkins from another table because I was ov.er.it. Tempura appetizer and sushi rolls were good. I had the 911 and rainbow, both of which I recommend. As a San Diego transplant, I was happy with the quality and taste. The sake flight wasn't bad either. Perhaps they were understaffed or it was an off night but the dining experience overall was cringey. I fully planned on leaving with a solid birthday buzz but got a buzzkill instead. The restaurant is clearly hemorrhaging money from poor service. The bar area looked pretty cool though. If I do come back, I'll be in Vans having a drink waiting for my takeout on a non-birthday.

My husband liked his Chicken Karrage and he paid an up charge for fried rice. He said it was some of the best he has ever had. The sushi however was just ok. The overuse of condiment felt like a ploy to cover over lower quality fish. The flavor was just not that great. Also, charging for spicy Mayo feels a bit excessive, but hey, I get it. You have to pay for those fake little plastic bonsai trees somehow. Service: 3/5 Having to ask for plates when you get a sushi platter should not happen. My partner and I were sharing a platter and the waitress only brought us one cup for soy and no plates. Also, the weirdly plated sushi was gimmicky and difficult to share. Ambiance: 2/5 The music was ok but the plating of the food and lack of availability on condiments and mismatching silverware made it all feel cheap and tawdry. I probably won't be back, as there are equally ok sushi spots who don't rely on gimmicks to wow their customers. I would have preferred just rolls on a platter without the little wooden box with a pile of shaved radish covering two blinking plastic ice cubes with one of my rolls precariously squished on top. Also, having random piles of lettuce on the plate is so unneeded. Not to mention that the rolls themselves were cramped with all the extra fake decor that reminded me of what you would place in a fish tank. It's like they asked themselves what would a midwestern person expect in a sushi restaurant and then they made it a parody of that.
