We had the BEST Breakfast at this adorable little spot!! Super clean & bright with rosters all over the place! The wait staff is beyond friendly and the food was SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! You know you have stumbled into a special spot when the staff are welcoming patrons by first name and with hugs!! I had the 2 eggs any style (with grits and toast), and the hubs had the Vegetable Benedict, but they let him alter it to have the Black Bean Cake. He had the fruit with it. Let me just start by saying the food was all cooked and seasoned perfectly!!! They made my over medium eggs perfectly! The toast had just enough butter and the grits were creamy with the bright fresh corn flavor I like. On top of that the the portions were very generous while being very reasonably priced. We always ensure we can go to the Red Rooster for breakfast or lunch when we are on Marco! There are plenty of delicious options of both the breakfast and lunch variety. All generations love it, as we've been with my parents, in-laws, and my kids and they've all declared it delicious. We went twice on this vacation once for breakfast and once for lunch. I got the Big Daddy scramble the first time and the California scramble the second time, both were great! The big discovery this year was the hash brown casserole. It's potatoey cheesy goodness filled with magic. I would eat platters of that stuff if given the chance! As always, two thumbs up! read more

Wifey and I wanted to try another breakfast place while in Marco and Red Rooser seemed like EXACTLY the kind of place we love. We arrived early, about 8:05, and the place was empty, but we were greeted cheerily by Alan and our server (Who may or may not have been his wife). The place started filling up a bit right after we arrived. We ordered some coffee while we looked over the menu. Place is really cute and is decorated with (obviously) roosters all over the restaurant. Clearly a place for locals as the owner and server knew a number of people who came into the restaurant, even sitting down with one couple. I ordered the French toast combo - two eggs, hash browns, 1 French toast, bacon and I also had a side of grits. Delicious breakfast...though I would have liked slightly more cinnamon. Grits were good, not watery (in case you don't follow along, if there are grits in the menu I'm getting them...can't find them often in Jersey). Coffee was ok. Wifey got the California scramble - scrambled eggs, avocado, bacon, tomato with rye toast and hash browns. and iced coffee. Hash browns were good but not as well done as she likes. I'm not one for reviews but the non-existent service at this place definitely warranted one. Sure, they'll seat you immediately and bring you some menus but after that they ghost you. Not even waters are brought. The server will pass by you and see you're waiting to order but I guess we're invisible at that point. You can ask for a beverage more than 3 times and you still won't get it. You'll get served your food after more than 40 mins after you've ordered, and you won't even be given utensils! Guess we're expected to eat with our hands. The owner is there walking around, seeing unhappy guests, waiting to be served, the kitchen SLOWER than waiting for paint to dry, and yet he does nothing. The servers hide behind the counter, literally standing there like there's nothing to do. To top it off, the food was terrible. Way too salty and it was cold (gee I wonder why?). And I have to pay $20 for 2 eggs and some sausage? Please.... From my observation, you'll get served first if you've had a hip replacement or pacemaker installed. If not, you're not worth their time. My husband and I went to Red Rooster for a Sunday breakfast. We were shocked when we got the bill. This is not an upscale restaurant. The explanation was My husband got an English muffin instead of toast and potatoes, that's considered an add-on not a substitute. I got the fruit instead of potatoes and toast and that was considered an add-on not a substitute. I got 2 eggs scrambled, bacon and a very small fruit cup, with no toast no potatoes. $18.98 My husband got 3 eggs OE, sausage, English muffin, No potato and no toast $26.98 2 cup of coffee $10.82 (we only had 1 cup of coffee because we never saw our waitress again after she took our order. Probably a good thing because they probably would have charge per cup of coffee. Total bill with tax $57.73 plus 20% tip=$69.27 There are Much better places on Marco island for breakfast like Doreen's cup of Joe, Stonewalls, The Burrows. And many more. Overall, we will not return $69 for what we had was definitely Marco Markup Island at its best. read more

My previous review I rated poorly because we arrived an hour before close and were told they were closing early and could offer me a salad to go which made me unhappy because I really wanted breakfast. While on vacation in Marco Island we came across this small establishment in a shopping center. The name Red Rooster and all the rooster decor had us intrigued. The place is very small on the inside and they only serve breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu had a lot of options- omelettes, skillets, pancakes, waffles, and different types of eggs Benedict. I got the country skillet which had breakfast potatoes, bacon, eggs, onions, peppers and cheese. It was very tasty and I really good sized portion. They serve beer and mimosas, but that is the only alcohol they sell. Our food was hot and yummy and our server was friendly and efficient! read more

This is one of our favorite breakfast places on the island. Our last experience was not great. I believe it was the owner who upon our arrival didn't want to put tables together to accommodate our party of 6, even though the place was half empty. It was clear that the hostesses/ waitresses felt bad that he wouldn't allow. We ended up going outside, which we were trying to avoid the heat and sun as one of the people in our party just finished chemo and can't be in the sun just yet. Walked into an entirely empty room!! Red flag number 1 during a busy holiday week. Owner ( maybe ) an older man behind the counter, couldn't be bothered to look up and greet us ( in an empty room) ! What a great spot, off the beaten path! I'm so glad I came across this (in Yelp!) and got the chance to have breakfast here. First and foremost, always need my coffee... and the coffee was so good! I had the quiche. Well, one of 3 different homemade quiches available... mine was the bacon, spinach and cheese. I got some tomato slices and lots of large chunk homefries.... all very good. Visited red rooster for breakfast while on Marco Island. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and has some tables outside for dining. We arrived around 1130 so it was a bit late for the breakfast rush and we got sat right away. At the recommendation of my dining partner we ordered a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was probably the best that I've ever had! The icing was gooey, but not overly sweet. For breakfast we had sausage and biscuits, a Mexican scramble, and a California scramble. All of the breakfast dishes were delicious. Although I did feel the biscuit gravy had a little twang to it , a little vinegar taste maybe? it was a little bit different but my husband loved it. The restaurant is cute itself with decorative roosters spread about and some artwork on the walls. The reason for the four stars instead of five was because it is a bit pricey for breakfast. Each entree was $20 or more. So after tip it was $150 for four people, but in spite of that I would revisit because it was very good. read more

Red Rooster is an adorable addition to Marco Island! It has a cute country theme (completed with a giant metal rooster piece of art outside) and serves breakfast and lunch. We went for lunch around noon and it was busy, but we could still get a table without waiting, which is a huge plus since it's still snowbird and tourist season. We opted for an outside table which was truly pleasant, with the tables spaced so nicely around a part of the plaza that doesn't have heavy foot traffic. They pumped fun music outside which was a good mask for some of the constructions sounds happening in the storefront next door. Since you can have breakfast all day (7am - 2pm when they close), I ordered some eggs, bacon, fruit and toast, all of which was perfect. I'm very picky about my eggs but they did a hard scramble just like I asked. My dining companions had mixed reactions to their food, one friend really enjoyed their meal, and the other wasn't wowed by the burger but admitted they loved the ambiance and the overall restaurant. Food came out in a reasonable time while I was in the restroom. Still no utensils. Went to hostesses counter, no one there. Finally, I saw my waiter and flaged him and asked for untinsels. He got some and handed them to me. The food was great. He never asked how things were. Once he asked if I wanted more coffee. A local diner situated in a strip mall near the "big" Publix store serving all the basic breakfast items including eggs, bacon, potatoes etc. Pros: -friendly welcome and service -serves all the breakfast classics (I had French toast-wife had eggs Benedict) -very reasonable prices -seems popular with old guys so sure early Opportunities -while food was fine, it's pretty basic, just like the seniors like it -"fresh squeezed" orange juice was clearly not fresh squeezed-could have been "not from frozen concentrate"-but it was basically Tropicana. We found this fun restaurant in the plaza where the new Publix is after we had done s water tour. They accommodated all 10 of us including 4 younger children. The waitress was amazing and the food excellent. We tried several of there different dishes including an amazing homemade cinnamon bun! Wake up at 6am to pack and check out of the hotel early so i could go back to this restaurant and dive into one last plate of their amazingly and deliciously cooked corn beef hash with caramelized onions and the freshest cup of squeezed orange juice i could have. This place is a gem. Nothing less than that. We came here on a mini vacation and picked this because it had good feedback from reviews. People, this is a place is a diner you NEED to experience for yourself and the prices are great. The staff is beyond friendly and welcoming but the food is on another level. You can tell they prep their food without holding back on cheese, fresh ingredients and the bread is FRESHLY baked in-house. Come on... the corn beef is a must try. I needed to take a pic before i destroy this plate. I've had a lot of corn beef hash but this is by far, and i mean by far the best i had. The texture, consistencies, quality and flavor just go beyond the standard diner meal quality and blow you away. Whenever we come back and visit, this will be a standard for us.
