Purchased a vehicle here. Procedure for a car purchased in Ma to an owner in Maine, is for the he car to be delivered to the place of registration because they do not deal with temporary plates. Car was delivered greater than 5 hours after it was expected. This wouldn't be a super issue but was irritating because we specifically contacted our salesman and gave him specific directions that weren't passed on to the driver and he was lost. When the car was delivered it did not have floor mats, xtra key and specific paperwork regarding gap insurance that we purchased. For almost 3 months we were given lies and excuses as to receiving these items. We cared most about the almost 900.00 insurance that we purchased but did not receive. I should also say I work in the automotive industry, so I was confident I could simply go in and test drive a car without hassle. Regardless, they had a car I was interested in and I emailed them via Cars.com. I was called by a blocked number, to arrange a test drive. I took time out of my work day to drive 15 minutes away during my lunch hour. The dealership is small, and mostly unorganized. No one knew I had an appointment. My contact "George" seemed hardly bothered that a customer was asking for him. I was then told the car would be ready to test drive tomorrow. Fantastic. They lost accreditation with the BBB because of poor buisness practices. In June of 2017 I bought a 2009 Jeep Liberty from them. I was forced to get rid of it in June of 2018. IT WAS A LEMON!!! I had a huge review chronicling my nightmare with this Jeep online, but it somehow " disappeared". I had a case going with the Massachusetts Attorney General about this. The case was closed today 9-20-18. Empire Motors were being uncooperative. I did find out that Empire Motors lost their accreditation with BBB because of all the negative feedback about this place. My boyfriend just bought a car from them and they act like they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. He paid to get the vehicle registered before they brought it to him. As if they haven't sold to someone in CT before they messed up and brought it to him unregistered. My boyfriend called them multiple times with no response which is unprofessional, to make it worse they brought it to the wrong DMV, gave nothing but excuses instead of getting the job done, and were terrible with communication. I almost didn't go here because of the negative reviews. But they had the exact car I was looking for (Volvo S80) at a price that was awesome. Not going here would have been a mistake. If you are expecting a Herb Chambers experience you need to understand that this is not what they do. They have a small lot with a lot of cars and minimal parking. I went to drive the car on two different occasions and they had two guys in the yard directing traffic. Manny was one of them and he is awesome. Personable and accommodating. Got me in the car and out driving within minutes. I asked that they take the car to my mechanic which is in Mendon and they coordinated to get the car there on the day that I requested. It's about a 40 minute ride. On different occasions both George and Mario who I believe are the owners checked in to see how the process was going. While I will not be moving forward with this car as I have been presented with an incredible opportunity on another vehicle, I felt the need to write about my experience. I am not discrediting others experiences as different things happen on different days, but if I did not ultimately go to Empire because of the reviews it would have been a mistake. Terrible experience... My son and I were looking at a car on the lot.. He said they do not take any deposits, but will act on the "honor system" that if we are interested, he will hold it until we have it inspected and decide on buying it... So, my son scheduled an inspection with our mechanic in Framingham.. The owner said he would have an employee drive the car to meet my son (because that is what they do for future clients)... Well, my son waited nearly 2 hours before getting a call. They were so hard to reach and to find out why nobody was showing up.. They said that the guy took off in the car and disappeared... WHY THE HECK COULDN'T THEY CALL ME SON AFTER 30 MINUTES... HE WAITED 2 FREAKING HOURS TO HEAR ANYTHING?????? The next day, we were told that the guy totaled the car and died... My husband found a truck listed on AutoTrader.com from this dealership on a Wednesday. He called and messaged the dealership and they quickly got back to him that they still had the truck and to come look at it. We decided to take our 10 month old for the 60 minute drive to the dealership on a Saturday (after calling the morning of to confirm it was still there). When we arrived the truck was of course not there and according to the salesman "it had just sold". My husband informed the salesman that he had confirmed 1 hour ago that the truck was there and he just shrugged his shoulders. Wish I could rate this place a ZERO. We were looking at a car for my stepson and saw a Subaru Impreza we were interested in. E-mailed the dealership and they responded and called my phone quickly. It was a Thursday. We live in NH and I explained we could not get down to look at the car until the following Tuesday. Called on Tuesday morning to make sure the car was still there. Told the girl I needed to know ASAP b/c we had a very small window of time to drive down to look at it (and hour ride). Didn't hear back so decided to drive down. Didn't receive a call til we were IN THE PARKING LOT. Had to go inside the building to talk to "Dutch" the sales guy...full on gold chain and jeggings, no joke. Decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked to test drive the car. The car was a complete piece of crap.  There were dents all over the drivers door that were not visible in the online pictures and something was ridiculously wrong with the shocks and/or struts on the back rear side.  It said their mechanics had fully gone over the car which is completely UNTRUE because if anyone with half a brain sat in it, they couldn't miss the AWFUL clunking noise.  Both Dutch and George were completely useless, disinterested and not at all helpful.   We ended up buying from a private seller and got an amazing car/deal. Run by a family of conartis. A year and a half ago my fiance bought a car from here. From the start the guy comes off as mad sketchy and we should of ran. The cars turbo went bad 3months in. He got the extra coverage for the car but the company said it didn't cover that. So he fought with both of them for months until he got his money back from the extra coverage people. He used the money to fix the car. The car needed brakes, check engine turns on constantly, now the a/c won't shut off and kills the battery. Please stay away and save yourself the money and headache. The sales person was more concerned with high-fiving his buddies and hand slapping with his bro's ignoring us and walking away as we were talking about the possible purchase of the vehicle we just test drove. Before the test drive, he whispered to one of his co-workers that they "need to raise their prices" (because we were the second person interested in that particular vehicle that day. The first wanted them to hold the vehicle for him.) When entering his office after waiting a long time outside in the heat for him to come back with a number for our trade-in, he ran the other way at the sight of us (literally) and out the office door while on his wireless phone. Then he gave some weird explanation on why he was offering a low-ball offer on our trade. The offer he gave us was $7,000 less than another dealership gave us the next day. We summized that it was clear he didn't want to sell us the vehicle because based on his comment before the test drive, perhaps he thought the vehicle was priced too low. He had some good looking cars and SUV's on the lot but his arrogant attitude and poor customer service told us to leave. We drove 3 hours away to come here. We were ready to buy. BEWARE! Do yourself a favor and research this business. Do not rely solely on used car website reviews like I did. After my experience, I seriously question their authenticity! Like the other reviews I scheduled an appt. to test drive an SUV they had advertised. I scheduled the appt. with a phone representative for the next day. After taking time off from work, and driving over an hour to get there at 11 a.m., I was told that the car was sold earlier that a.m.. When I told the rep. that it would have been nice if someone had called me to save me the vacation time, the expense, and the time it cost me to uphold my end of the appointment, the salesman provided a REALLY lame, "Sorry", but quickly began to suggest other SUVs on the lot. So I wouldn't feel the drive was a total waste of my time, I looked at three SUVs: the one that was reportedly sold, another that was the same year/model, and one similar. I am glad I viewed these, because now I can provide an honest review of the product. All had stains, including the headliner, and one had an unpleasant odor. If this the the extent of their detailing, I sincerely question the level of attention that would be given to the pre-sale mechanical inspection! Dealer had a car listed on their website. When I went to look at it I was told the car was no longer in their inventory (2 hours after I inquired, and arrived to a scheduled appointment). The salesperson steered me towards a differently vehicle, so I reluctantly took it for a ride. A quick internet search of the VIN revealed that the car was purchased at a salvage auction. What I find even more interesting is the car that I was originally interested in is still listed in their inventory, now with a newly reduced price. I sat down at Tom's desk and he showed me the "car fax" report of the car. I saw nothing notable to warrant me from buying the car so I went ahead with it. I paid him $1700 for the car but after going through the title I realized he actually wrote that he sold me the car for $700. I did not think anything of it at the time because I was happy I would not have to pay as much for the excise tax After 3 months of constant issues and putting almost $2,000 into the car I decided enough was enough and I would get a more reliable car. When I went to a dealership to see how much they could give me for the car as a trade in they told me the news... The car had been declared a total loss from an insurance agency and that they could not give me much, if anything for the car. I looked up the used vehicle Lemon Laws in MA and it does not apply to a used car that was purchased for less than $700 or has more than 128,000 miles on it. This was why Tom wrote $700 on the title. Came by because I saw a 2009 CLS 550. Definitely looked better online and there were a ton of scratches and dents as well as significant scratches on the rims, also the engine produced somewhat of a weird noise. After the test drive the salesman/owner asked me what I thought of the car and seemed pretty nice at first, still undecided I said that i liked it but there were a lot of little things, i was about to ask if there was something that could be done about a few of the things on the car but as soon as i mentioned that there were a lot of little things his facial expression dropped and the dude cut me off mid sentence and said "Put the keys back in the car." and walked away. Little did he know I was still interested... got in my 2003 with 165k miles on it that was in FAR better condition than the car that i came to look at and drove away. Wasted trip.
