Rolando has been great! I came in on the first week of July to get new brake pads installed and Rolando's price quote was $300 cheaper than the other prices I received in that area. The cherry on top of a great experience was when I came back to Rolando on the first week of August because my drivers side electric window was stuck halfway open. They are nice people. But I was unfairly charged a lot of money for something that didn't fix my car and I was not told what the price was going to be till after I picked up the car and was left with a hefty bill. Before doing work call and let the person know what the cost is before assuming they would be okay with that. My car is still not drivable, I can only drive it around 10 mph without it overheating. and they tried charging me $450 for Mickey Mouse repairs that didn't even guarantee or get my car to proper working condition. I didn't expect this from this business because I was recommended from triple a and also told the guy in the beginning that I didn't have much money for repairs. read more

My car was having battery problems. This guy was recommended by AAA. I took my car in and left it with him for a week. Instead of fixing anything, he disconnects my radio and tells me the radio was draining the battery and this is the best solution. He charges me $800 for this "service." Fast forward about a few weeks and the car is having the same issue. I take the car back to him and leave it for a couple days. He tells me the car is fine and I should just take it back, and yet a few days later it doesn't start again. So basically I paid this guy $800 to disconnect my radio and not fix any of the car problems. Brilliant. read more

I was stranded in the cemetery nearby on a Saturday afternoon and it was suggested by a AAA guy to park my car at Rolando's as they were closing. I was skeptical at first because it's not every day that a specific auto repair in an area where there are many to chose from (including my regular repair shop) gets recommended by AAA. I was given a free inspection and quote by Rolando on Monday morning before any parts were ordered. I appreciated that because I can't stand when telling you what's wrong costs you money unless they do the work for you. My car was a priority and my alternator was fixed before noon on Monday. Rolando has helped me twice, and I was satisfied with both experiences. On the first occasion, he replaced a fuel pump. I know he spent a lot of extra time triple-checking that the car was correctly fixed, and he still charged a very reasonable price. The second issue was a minor one. He spent a decent amount of time checking out the car. After finding that it had no issue worth fixing, he stayed late for me to pick up the car after I got off work and charged me nothing for his labor. read more

Last week my catalytic converter was stolen, and when I asked the tow guy if there was a mechanic he trusted around here, he brought me to Rolando's. Everybody here was extremely nice and knowledgeable, and really held my hand through the whole thing (Nivea's especially the best!). After the part was replaced (which only took a couple days, and right before Christmas too), they also installed a special cover to prevent it happening again. Despite the total bummer of a circumstance, the Rolando's team made it a really great experience, and I'll definitely be going to them again! read more

Rolando was disorganized and non-communicative. I had to call twice over two days to get any sort of update. He told me both times that he didn't know what was wrong with my car. The third time (called about an hour before closing) he just told me it was ready and I could come pick it up. When I arrived it was parked on Brand Boulevard unlocked with the passenger side door ajar. He served me a bill of $660 and said he had to replace three parts. One part he replaced which sells for about $15.49 he marked up to $220. I know mark ups are common, but 14x the price is nuts. There are some higher priced examples of the same part, but nothing even close to $220. If he had to use a more expensive part, a little phone call explaining why would have been helpful. At the end of the day, he needs to make money of course and I expect some markup whenever I go to the mechanic, but I also expect a service in exchange - which means a phone call explaining what's wrong with the car, an estimated pick up time, and keeping my car locked and in a safe place until it's ready. Rolando recently opened shop at this location, the place where my mechanic had operated for over 20 years. At first I was skeptical, but I talked to him and find him to be genuine, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and try him out. I had my Honda Civic timing belt (genuine Honda belt), water pump, crank shaft 2 seal replaced, timing belt tension. Cooling system bleed. New battery. All that for $560. Pretty good. AAA tow truck accidently burned out my battery on a jump. They had to end up towing my Van to Rolandos. This guy was cool, super on it and had it back and running no time. Rolando is easily the best mechanic I've ever dealt with! I was referred to him by Tacoma nut friend and he had nothing but wonderful things to say. So i drove my 4runner over and he exceeded my expectations by a long shot. All the work was reasonably priced he fixed my AC for FREE. I would highly recommend Rolando to anyone! I called for an oil change and check engine light that turned on in my car. Rolando told me to come in within the hour and he was able to inspect my car and change my oil quickly! Turns out there was nothing wrong with my engine, but he never charged me for diagnostics. Called right away when my car was finished, and only charged $25 for conventional oil change. The staff is really friendly and answered all my questions. Trustworthy, fair prices, and great service. I had had my AC recharged after it stopped and got an oil change here today. It cost me less then sixty dollars. And it took them less then an hour and a half. Now, my AC has gone off before and to add freon it has cost me up to $150 dollars. Anyhow, drove away with ice cold AC and oil job done. Rolando works his tail off and is worth visiting and getting work done on your car. He's personable and prices are reasonable. read more
