I'm definitely coming back to SoCal Smog (they changed their name from Empire Smog). I failed the smog test at another place (Smog N Save) a month prior because I got a new car battery on my 2010 Toyota Prius. Smog N Save had told me to drive 100 miles after getting my new car battery before getting my smog tested. So I did that, but then my car failed the test and the person at Smog N Save told me afterward that I should've driven 250 miles. Despite the misinformation, Smog N Save still charged me and never mentioned that I could get my car pre-checked for the number of warm-up cycles I had on my new battery. I then went to Alonso's Auto Repair and they didn't charge me for checking the code three different times with P0A80 continuing to pop up despite driving 500 miles and multiple freeway drives with cooling periods in between (I love Alonso's, and will never go to another mechanic). After explaining what had happened to two nice guys at SoCal Smog, they said that they'd check my warm-up cycles before charging for testing my Prius. My Prius didn't pass the first time, but the second time my Prius passed! It was only $40. The staff at SoCal Smog were friendly, economical, and customer-service focused. False advertisers and liars. Had a coupon for smog check for $16.75 it said that it included "most cars, vans trucks & SUV's". I got there showed coupon and was told it would be $15 extra for SUV. All SUVs were extra. Walked away rather go to more expensive and honest place than a place where they lie read more

Very poor. They asked for a carb sticker for my aftermarket air intake when the sticker was right next to the intake. It shows they didn't bother to check. This made make an extra trip back. Then they weren't open at 4:30pm even though I had called in advance saying I'd be there at 4:30. Wasted my money, wasted my time. read more

This place is pretty quick, but... I went there with a Penny Saver coupon for $16.25 that states most cars at this price. Once I show them the coupon they say that it is five dollars more for a four door car. I have a Honda accord, come on! They said the price is only for small 2 door cars like civics and Sentras. This is WRONG! I hate businesses that do stuff like that. I ended up just doing it because I drove a ways and would have spent more in gas after that. I wasn't the only person they did this too. While I was waiting for my car, an older man came in with the same coupon. They then told him the same thing. The other guy left. If you are going to advertise, then don't lie to people just to get them in, that is dishonest. I only gave them two stars for their speed. read more

Dishonor, not recommended. I toke my car to this station for Smog check. they asked what year my car made and DMV paper. I told them 1999 and gave them DMV paper. I didn't realize I toke the wrong car. It should be 1992 Toyota, not 1999 Lexus. They did it without telling me the car didn't match DMV paper. They put CHANGE OWNER in inspection reason. DMV paper is for registration renewal, don't they know that? When I went back they knew I brought the wrong car, and keep saying it was my mistake, nothing to do with them and tell me to go somewhere else. Why ask for DMV paper at the beginning? If they are honor they would told me the car not match DMV paper. right? read more
