On April 4Th I had hardwood flooring installed throughout my 1150 Square foot condo. Before the installation the sales rep spent quite a lot of time helping me pick out just what I needed and wanted . He was very informative and answered all my questions about hardwood flooring , I already had hardwood put in 18 yrs ago In My kitchen and my den ( 2nd bedroom). So I needed something to compliment those floors. He was very precise in the cost and time frame to do the job. Without his knowledge and expertise I would be left hanging out in left field! The day of the installation , the installer Carlos and his helper arrived on time. I was amazed at how fast they worked and the quality of their work also, speed and accuracy , can't beat that. These men were very careful moving my belongings and were very respectful at all times! The day after, I called Carlos because I found a few places with some smutz on the boards. He came with his helper the very next morning and used some chemical that took care of the problem without damage to the boards . MY FLOORS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS, I am so very proud to show them to all my friends! I will recommend Empire to everyone I know! Thank you Empire! read more

DO NOT GET YOUR FLOORING HERE! Let me start by saying that their sales people who come to the house are so friendly. And they make the process easy by having all the samples when they come to the house so you really can finish all decisions in one meeting. That's where the good ends. Everything after that first meeting is a full scam. Once you sign on the dotted line, the service is GONE. We were sold the 5 year extended warranty specifically because of our animals. The sales people pointed out our existing carpet damage from our dogs and said that we HAD to get the extended warranty to ensure that if they ever damaged the carpet in any way, it would be replaced. Did we get the warranty? Of course! Did our dog damage the carpet this past week? Yup! Did they tell me to take a long walk and that they don't cover pet damage while reading their policy from a script in front of them? Sure did. We are talking a 2'x2' piece of damaged carpet that we already have extra carpet to repair and they wont look at it or consider repairing it even though that's what BOTH of the sales people in our house guaranteed that they would fix for 5 years. Installation was done horribly, the carpeting and pad they installed is rock-hard, coming unraveled, and looks like garbage. They didn't even remove the stickers or fill the nail holes on the baseboards. I asked if they had a manager or anyone who had walks through and signs off on the install. They said they would send an install supervisor and never did. If I had it to do over I would have never gone with Empire. But I did so I making sure I tell EVERYONE to get their flooring through literally any other company you can find. read more

After only three years, I had to remove the wood planks Empire sold me for $13,000 that buckled and were glued down over an old floor they failed to remove. I had to install a new water resistant ceramic kitchen floor at my own expense. Shady practices and terrible customer service. Avoid at all costs. I've been dealing with Empire for years over a flooring issue, and it has been an absolute nightmare. My floors started buckling, which created a serious safety hazard, well within the timeframe of my warranty. When I contacted them, they admitted it was a manufacturer's defect but claimed that meant it wasn't covered. How can a company knowingly use manufacturers that don't stand behind their own products, and still sell you a warranty that doesn't protect you? Empire sold me on the idea that any issue would be covered, only to backtrack and say it's only for "accidents." Well, the real accident was choosing Empire in the first place. I should have lied about how it happened, since they don't take accountability. To make matters worse, I was naive enough to purchase carpeting from them afterward, because the sales manager personally guaranteed they would make things right with the damaged flooring. That guarantee was later denied, despite me having text messages that say otherwise. Every time I call, I'm met with rudeness and zero accountability. I used Empire to install new carpeting in 3 bedrooms 2 years ago. All 3 rooms now have ripples. I have not moved any furniture and there is very little foot traffic. The #1 reason for ripples is poor installation. So, here's some advice I wish I had been given 2 years ago... 1) if you think your installers will arrived dressed in Empire uniforms looking professional, you are sadly mistaken. If you think they will carefully move your furniture, you will be disappointed. 2) There's a reason they ask you to check the carpeting before they unload it. They had the wrong carpet for me, which delayed the start of the install and resulted in them rushing to get out at 9 PM. 3) If you use this company, pay for the service contract. I did not. When I called them to ask for an installer to come and fix the rippled carpet AT MY EXPENSE, they told me to check for someone on Angi (Angi's List). 4) Like most other reviews state, the salesman was very personable and knowledgeable, but once they get your money the service is OVER (except for the few months they give you). I'm now trying to decide if I pay someone to fix Empire's shoddy work or just get new carpeting. If you choose to use them, good luck! read more

They make themselves sound so great, but the workmanship and customer service after they're finished is awful. We had our upstairs carpeting and bathrooms done by them, but needed them to come back out to pick up their remaining equipment and to make a couple of repairs. I used Empire Today on two different occasions. The short of it is this: The LVP they use is absolutely garbage and creaks, pops, and flexes at the slightest pressure. They made multiple no-call no-shows for repairs after the initial install. The didn't have the pieces for the stairs so it took them an additional month to get the stairs completed and this was after they "gave me the best price" if I signed that day, for materials that were supposed to be in stock. In the 3 years since it has been installed I have gone through almost all of the spare planks we were left with. Absolutely terrible. The second time I used Empire was strictly on accident, had a buddy who worked with an installer but I never knew the name until right before install. He got me their business pricing which was basically about 40% the retail cost. Ended up finding out it was Empire. It was basic carpet but it was pulling up about 3 months after purchase. Everything they do is subbed out to local contractors, they don't actually own anything, it's a name now, more than anything. We agreed, signed a contract & paid 1/2 down. The other 1/2 was due before the installation was started. We were told either that it was going to cost more or after completion of the work that we still owed money. Suspicious pricing methods to us! Meanwhile the installation crew was told to wait around while we were fuming, waiting & arguing with the sales rep for 4 hours. My husband discovered later that tools were missing from the garage. He kept discovering more tools were missing. Nobody else could have taken the tools than one of the installation crew. Also my wallet was taken from my bag hanging in the bedroom closet. Stay Away!!! Yes, the original transaction was easy and timely. It all seemed to go well. I paid for their "top of the line" carpet. I was so happy with the results that I even had them do my other home. Over $8000 spent on carpet between the two houses. 2.5 years later the carpet is a mess. It is rippling up and wearing out! Carpet should last a long time, our last carpet lasted us 20 years, and that was with three kids and several dogs, bunnies, etc. I am already looking to replace this junk. He stated that in order for me to see the estimate I would have to qualify for financing, which I didn't want to do, I was going to pay cash. But he was very friendly and persuasive. So I signed up for financing, then I asked him all about cancellation and price checking with other companies. He told me that as long as I cancel before my installation date that it would be free, which was a lie, you actually only have 3 days to cancel. Which is wild to me, you can't even get a quote from anyone else in that time. Also to cancel they will charge you 25% of your initial estimate, not free. Having gone with Empire has been a nightmare of an experience. I regret it completely. We decided to go with Empire because of the well-known brand and salesman pitch of "customer satisfaction guaranteed". We decided to get around 700sq of porcelain tile installed on the first floor of our house and get new baseboards as well. The final out-the-door price was around $9000. It was very pricey, friends and family members told me that it was too much, to find someone cheaper. I said to myself and to them, if you want the job to be done right and be done by licensed professionals, that was going to cost me and I needed to pay for it. This is my family home and don't want to take the cheap route and go with the lowest bidder. I had my tile installed on 06/12/2023, within a week, the grout between the tiles was beginning to crack (see pictures), it was only happening in the living room area. It was soft to the touch. In the kitchen area, the grout was hard as cement. The baseboards were installed unevenly (see pictures), after another week I notice the baseboard had bubbles thorough. It took weeks to get a hold of the installation manager (W.F). An inspection was scheduled for the contractor to come and see my concerns for June 30, 2023. Right away the contractor tried placing the blame on me, insinuating that I mopped the tile right away and that I wet the baseboard while mopping. The contractor said that it was very strange how the grout was cracking only in one section (living room). I told them that I waited a whole week before mopping and that baseboard where not wet at all (they said to wait 3 days before mopping after the installation was done). The contractors came to fix the grout and some sections of the baseboard on July 07, 2023. They scrapped away the group that was cracking and replaced it with new grout. After they were finished, they said to wait 3 days before mopping. The installation manager did not call or email me to check on me, I didn't hear from him at all. I waited two weeks before mopping and after the first mop, the grout around the same section of the living room was cracking again! The grout was soft to the touch and could be easily removed. I was in complete shock, I emailed the installing manager and attached pictures of the grout. I did not hear from him at all from that email, and after 7 days, I sent another email to him. He responded, "The grout will need to be sealed after installation and I needed to wait 72 hours to seal it". I was confused, I told the installation manager that was the 1st time I heard that I needed to seal the grout after the installation, the salesman did not mention it, the contractors of the June 12 installation did not mention it, and the contractors of the July 07 installation did not mention it. How could I seal the grout when there's no grout at all to sealed? I haven't heard back from the installing manager since his response that I need to seal the grout. I feel betrayed by Empire, I live in a close community and my neighbors saw when I was getting my tile installed. They have come over to see the tile floor and baseboards after the installation and I have not recommended them to Empire at all. I showed them the quality of work they'll be getting. I do not want them to go through what I'm going through right now. I'm very disappointed with Empire, you would figure they would want to make this right. Now I need to find another contractor to replace the cracking grout and the baseboards. read more

I will expand on my experience later. I do NOT recommend "Empire Today"! For a four-day job, now on day two, they have been late to arrive. Yesterday, it was "by eight", they arrived at nine. Today's promise; "sometime before nine". It's now 10:10. No call, no explanation, no satisfaction! More to follow... UPDATE, September 07, 2021... The job is now over. Maria Saberese is the only person to EVER return a call. If not for her, we were screwed. Hugo Reas, install manager, never returned a single call out of more than a half dozen requests. Mary Brooks, local installation director(?) finally called Friday, September 03, install day, to make sure we had their payment! I told her how absurd it was to call about the money, but not about the problems. She yelled into the phone, as we scrambled to get to the jobsite, "I'm having the trucks unloaded and am canceling your job!" and hung up. We drove the 30 miles anyway and the install crew did show up. Ricardo and his team did the job. Not a single person who came to the job other than our sales representative, Candis Glass, worked for "Empire Today"! They were ALL sub-contractors. The schedule, according to the contract... August 31: Move furniture, remove old carpet, pad, and tack strips. Mop and clean floor. Apply treatment for dog urine and seal the concrete slab with Kilz. September 1st and 2nd: drying time. September 3: Install new tack strip, pad, carpet, and move the heavier furniture. The actual events on this nearly $6000 job... August 31: Miguel and Horatio arrived late, we're told by Hugo Reas it was one room, not the actual 1500 square feet. Complaining the whole time about Mr. Reas, they moved the furniture we couldn't, pulled up, and removed the old material but NOT the old tack strip! They insisted that "Empire" didn't replace but would instead reuse the old, splintered, urine-soaked tack strip! They didn't clean or prep the floor as spelled out in the contract. Late into that night, our friend mopped and rinsed the concrete and I applied the enzymatic urine cleaner (Rocco and Roxie) myself. September 01: Thanks to Ms. Saberese, Empire again sent a sub-contractor, Luis, to finally apply the Kilz sealer/primer to the bare slab. For 162 square yards, they were sent, by Mr. Reas, with SIX 13 oz. spray cans of Kilz. After much haggling and more ignored messages to Mr. Reas, we were told that due to an "explosion" at the Kilz plant, there was no Kilz available in Las Vegas. Before Luis left, my wife was on the phone with the nearest Lowes. They had over 250 gallons of Kilz. Home depot had over 17 of the 5 gals. buckets of Kilz. Between Lowes and Home Depot, their Las Vegas stores had over 3000 gallons of Kilz on the shelf! Thanks to Ms. Glass and Mr. Reas, nothing was done by "Empire" that day! They should rename themselves "Empire Someday". September 2: Luis and his associate returned to roll on the 10 gal. of Kilz needed. September 3, Friday: Ricardo and his team arrived, late thanks to Ms. Brooks' tantrum, to finish the job. The Kilz had NOT dried completely but we had my 93-year-old mother-in-law staying at our daughter's for a week by now! They removed the old tack strips, tried using Kilz "Upshot" spray for ceilings to seal the exposed concrete FLOOR. The new tack strips went down followed by the new pad and carpet. Without any time to inspect the work, the furniture was moved. The carpet is seamed wrong, there is overspray and splattered Kilz on the tile floors, they ruined a set of "Sunburst Shutters", and dumped old tack strip into mom's garbage can. Summary; That is the condensed version of the enormous problems we experienced on this "Empire Today" job! The regional manager will not return our calls but they cashed the check! To close, I suggest you get EVERYTHING promised in writing! Ms. Glass, the sales representative made misrepresentations and promises that "Empire Today" was forced to make good on. (I been calling, texting and emailing for weeks and nothing). They left message saying due to Covid they cannot finish but will contact me as soon as they can. I called them back and again they wont take my call. They make you pay up front, do not finish the job, wont take calls and do not communicate what is going on. Go anywhere else. They will send unprofessional installers who will install your floor wrong so it starts breaking within a couple of years. Then they will gaslight and ignore you if you call to get your expensive products fixed. I have not had a floor for over 2 weeks due to the run-around they are giving me after they installed my vinyl planks without leveling the floor, without a moisture barrier and without room between where the planks meet the walls (no room for planks to settle). It not only took over a year to get them to send someone to inspect the damage, they took up our floor so we are living in chaos and want to make us look for a leak that doesn't exist while no one in the Vegas office returns our phone calls. They even no called/no showed twice on us. The local install manager William is worthless and will never call you back or answer any of his calls. My husband and I have lost hundreds of dollars of work due to them not coming when they say. As well as hours of our time getting run around. We got an initial quote to replace carpet on stairs and partial living room. We paid half down and the other half was due installation day. We decided to go ahead and replace the entire carpet in the living room. I called Mark to please come back and give me a quote for the remaining 10% of carpet in the living room. The price he quoted was almost $800. I told him that was way too much just for that little section so he called and texted his manager and we agreed on the price of $400 which he told me I had to pay the full amount since it was so close to the installation day that I went ahead and pay for it in full the amount was $399 day. On installation day I had to pay t day that I went ahead and pay for it in full the amount was 399. On Installation day, I has to pay the other half for stairs and partial living room prior to them getting started which I did. About a week later I got a call regarding still owing partial payment for " living room 2". Mark stood in our living room, gave us a discounted price after talking to his supervisor. He also was supposed to give us an updated contract with the breakdown of all the sections and prices. He never did. After numerous attempts to have Mark rectify this issue, we just got notified that they sent me to collections. Be aware of any purchases with this company as they do not have integrity. read more
