Anahita is truly a one of a kind find! I had been searching for a very long time for someone that could help my son with his sensory issues and help me to know how to help him. The other occupational therapists that I have worked with have never been able to truly understand my son's needs which is why I went searching for a therapist that specializes in sensory processing disorder and how I found Anahita. From the very first phone call with her, I knew that she was going to be amazing and a godsent! She is a wonderful listener and listened to me for over an hour telling her every detail about my son and all of the concerns I have. She understood everything I was saying and knew exactly what I was talking about and how to help, unlike anyone else I have talked to. She did an extensive evaluation which I thought was very thorough and accurate and we began right away with sessions. Anahita was so amazing with my son and he loves her so much. We have been with Anahita for approximately a year and its been wonderful. It's been almost two years that my five year old has been with Anahita. She is an amazing occupational therapist. We had to take a break for my son's surgery and recovery so we missed some time, but Anahita was so flexible with us. I love how passionate she is about her job and her attention to detail. She bonded so well with my son, which is extremely important to get the job done. My son loves her too. She has been so hopeful in pointing out what my son needs, helping to educate me too, and helping to point me in the right direction if she sees another concern or another professional we need to see. We have been through so much with Anahita as to my son's concerns, progress, diagnoses, etc. she has been such a crucial key part of my son's life. She has forever helped him and honestly couldn't live without her. It truly brings me to tears to see all what she has been able to do for my son. We still have some ways to go, but knowing Anahita will be there for us, I feel definitely way better. She also helped in performing an assessment not only at her location, but also at my son's preschool, and helped provide some opinions as to what he needs in general and also as to what he needs for school (I'm relation to IEP meetings). Anahita Daruwalla is an amazing occupational therapist. Her keen clinical eye is complemented by a remarkably engaging personality that makes even the youngest of patients excited to visit her regularly. I knew something was not right with my daughter at an early age. Even with my training as a physician, I could not determine the issue. My daughter visited several occupational therapists and all of them could not identify the problem. One even remarked that "she will never crawl." We were fortunate to visit Mrs. Daruwalla when my daughter was 7 months old. She identified the issue as Sensory Processing Disorder and fine motor delay. Her sharp instinct was corroborated when she completed an extremely thorough evaluation, which cited the most up-to-date research in the field. While under Mrs. Daruwalla's care, my daughter looked forward to her visits. No two therapy sessions were the same, and each one was targeted toward the highest priority issues. Anahita is a true gem. My son has been in PT, OT, and speech for 3 years and after 6 months with her his progress has been nothing short of amazing. After only 3 months we saw a 75% improvement in areas he had been working on for years. He loves "playing her games" and she does a great job of explaining how activities help his specific issues. We have had the pleasure of working with Anahita for 6 months and it has been incredible. Our daughter has exhibited delayed gross motor development and poor balance since she was an infant. We looked for an occupational therapist with sensory integration expertise for over a year before Anahita was recommended to us. She is a phenomenal therapist.
