After going to 3 other speech clinics that wasn't helping my daughter, I took her here and got the correct, precise assessment done. For the past 10 months we've worked with Andrea and Kelsey. My daughter says words with sounds she wasn't able to do before. She also has so much fun. The sessions are engaging and the toys are always different so it motivates her to target goals. From what I've seen, all the therapist are super positive and ready to jump in and WORK HARD. The SLP's use every moment as an opportunity to help target my daughter's speech goals. At first I didn't think 30 minutes would be enough time. Nope, I was wrong. Without Andrea and Kelsey's expertise, my daughter wouldn't be saying the words she says now. I've been with other clinics with my other children too. Speech Point really is a top notch clinic. I have to add: The owner is really nice and easy to talk to. She's busy doing assessments all the time but she'll make time to chat when requested. Just ask. Courtney and Temika are on top of the scheduling and behind the scenes tasks. They always respond via text, email or by phone. There's some scheduling issues at the moment due to short staffing but management has been giving updates and the owner is stepping in to help. She (so brilliantly) manages to ascertain appropriate goals for our little one and teaches her staff on how to appropriately target those goals during session. No other clinic has come close to consistency and professionalism, and warmth. We have been coming here for over 2 years now and the progress has been tremendous. They have taken the time and energy to get to know our child - something that a lot (most places, especially the larger ones that offer speech, ot, classes etc) of places do not bother to do - and the SLPs and support staff are driven, work hard, and are not phoning it in ever. Our daughter just graduated/completed her speech here in just about over a year or so. Weekly on Saturdays for the most part, only switching to a weekday for the last few months at the end of summer. Her speech is beyond what it was when we brought her in, and now, she can identify and self-correct herself. She's amazed at how she spoke and sounded when watching old videos of herself. The staff has always been caring and professional. Sure, there were scheduling conflicts, both planned and unplanned, on their end as well as ours. All of it handled well in light of ever-changing situations. They've been responsive to our inquiries, and kept us in the loop about our daughter's progress. This place has changed my family's life. My son started with 1 word back in April and we are well over 50+ with eye contact as well in October. My son will turn 5 in February 2023. We started therapy sessions at Speech point in october 2020. Its over two years that we have been with Speech point. During these two years, I as a mom ( I just have one child) has been seeing tremendous improvement in his speech and language. My son was diagnosed with moderate/ severe Childhood Apraxia of Speech( CAS) in 2021. Therapists out of office without any notice. Mostly unsupervised slpa's not actually licensed slps working there. The owner (she is never there) does not pick up cancellations when the staff quits or is out of the office on long vacations. Haphazard and unprofessional. We started seeing Andrea Gaulin and Miss Rachel almost 4 years ago. My son has made leaps and bounds. When he started therapy he couldn't say "mama" consistently and he had no sentences. My son is now speaking 5-7 word sentences. He is expressing his wants and needs and talking to peers and we are all understanding him. Andrea and Rachel have given us the tools to help our son communicate. I cannot express the gratitude we have for his speach team. My son is 14 years old and diagnosed with Down syndrome and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. We have been with many speech pathologists providing inadequate methods in treating his apraxia. We met Andrea and Stevie and now my son for the first time is speaking in sentences and his annunciation is becoming clearer. My daughter has a rare genetic disorder which is characterized by severe speech apraxia, intellectual disability, and low attention. Almost all children with her disorder are completely nonverbal. Against all odds, Andrea has taught my daughter several different sounds (and many different words) via PROMPT-based speech therapy (Andrea manipulates my daughter's mouth to teach her how to make new sounds). I can not say enough great things about Andrea. My daughter can now say "mommy" and "daddy" !!!! I didn't know if the day would ever come. We had worked with a a few speech therapists before Andrea that were unable to teach my daughter any words or any new sounds. As a result, I can say with absolute confidence that Andrea is at the top of her field. My husband and I recently attended our first IEP meeting for our daughter. Andrea coached us on what goals to request and to fight for an AAC evaluation (which I wouldn't have realized to do!). We are so happy we found Andreane, she is professional and punctual, but that is not the main reason we love her. She is great with our child! Under Andreane care our little one's word count grew from 5 to 30! Her techniques make it fun for our little girl to learn. Sometimes I wonder if there is real work going on in her sessions, when I see balloons, bubbles and markers. But, when our little one is able to express her needs to us, by calling our name and mentioning what she wants, I know what Andreane is doing amazing work. This review is long overdue, as we have been working with Andrea for 2 years and have had nothing but a great experience from the start. We have twin boys, age 6, both of whom experienced speech delays. Not only have we seen tremendous progress with both boys, but when one was ready to 'graduate' she let us know when he had met all of his goals and that he no longer required any assistance. When I had my daughter I couldn't wait to hear her say mama and talk to me. It's now been almost 5 years and she is now only beginning to speak. It's been a road filled with therapies, specialists, and doctors. You name it, we have tried it. Only since we have started with speech point about 8 months ago, has my daughter found her voice. We still have a long road ahead but my little girl can now communicate what she wants and needs which is essential at getting her to be independent. Speech point has techniques to get my daughter to speak her mind. Most speech places don't have the knowledge on how to get children on spectrum to speak spontaneously nor do they understand their behaviors. Andrea who is a SLP and BCBA understands the language component as well as the behavioral aspect when treating kids on the spectrum. Speech point collaborates with the aba company we use so my daughter could generalize and practice the skills she has learned. Parents are also an integral part of this process. I have received training while observing my daughter in session that has proved to be invaluable. Speech point is the piece we needed for our little girl to communicate with the world. At the beginning, we were only receiving services with Andrea and then added another session with the SLPA. At first I was nervous about what the quality would be like with the SLPA session. My fear were laid to rest. Andrea makes sure that the SLPA runs her speech program the way it is supposed to be run. Never in a million years would I ever have thought my little girl would say to me "mommy, you're so pretty!" Or "let's play hide and seek". Words cannot express how thankful we are.
