Up until a few years ago you really couldn't find macarons in any local bakeries, so I would only indulge on my trips into larger cities. Now, you can more readily find them but quality differs. I've been wanting to try Moonflower for many months now and had a chance the other day. Their marketing game is on point, beautifully packaged and presented product. The shop is set back from the road so you can easily miss it, maybe some additional signage would help. The shop is consistent with their refined aesthetic but is tiny, maybe only two customers can be in the shop simultaneously. The younger staff who helped me was very nice and knowledgeable about the product. The macarons are sublime, gorgeous and authentic (crisp on outside, proper feet, slight interior chew). The flavor variety is delightful. I love that some of the flavors are unique and unexpected such as frosted animal cookie. My favorite was the pistachio raspberry, there was an actual raspberry in the center. They change up their flavors every month. Truly a one of a kind bakery in the area. Clearly a lot of care goes into the product. I will return again and again. Merci!

I decided to try the apple tart and the rugelagh. The apple tart was flaky and the filling was classic apple pie flavor. The rugelagh was a different type of pastry but equally as good. They are take out only but there are so many places to sit and eat ( when the weather is nice) and the views of Skaneateles Lake are amazing. They used to use wake robin yogurt (which I do remember them discontinuing some years ago), but now the yogurt is SO sweet. Overall it makes the parfait too sweet with the homemade granola and blueberry coulis. I couldn't help but notice how much smaller the parfait portions are too. They used to be full sized cups and now they're nearly half their former size which was definitely disappointing considering the price has certainly not gone down. Stopped in to buy cookies with a friend. The girl behind the counter waited on the friend first…read more The girl was wearing gloves, reached in an grabbed the cookies, put them in a box and rang the friend up, taking cash and counting back the change. Then came my turn for my cookies, I told her what I wanted and the girl proceeded to pick my cookies out, without changing her gloves. I ended up paying for the cookies because I didn't want to embarrass my friend, and when I got a chance I called the bakery and complained. It is nasty to handle food after handling money! It's disgusting and when I received a very nonchalant response from the bakery, I reached out on Instagram. The response there was that they were, too, disgusted and would be addressing this with that employee, and would refund the $16 I spent on the cookies. They never did and I will not go back. They may have really good cookies, but their hygiene policy sucks!
