Tip for En Su Boca: if there is a wait, they don't take down phone numbers so you have to wait in the restaurant or they will skip you on the list. You can wait at the bar and get a drink but it is often pretty crowded and tight. The good news is the wait time is usually shorter than they say it will be! En su Boca has some of my favorite margs in the city. They make them super strong and they are in a tall glass so you get more than other places. To eat I got 4 different tacos. They serve them on the traditional double corn tortillas which are ok but I wish they had a flour tortilla option. I always love getting all different tacos to try different flavors! Chicken tinga: good and flavorful, but a pretty basic chicken taco Carnitas: again very good but pretty basic carnitas Ropa Vieja: this one had the most sauce and spice of the three so far which I really liked! Brussel sprouts: absolutely delicious. I love being surprised by flavors especially with tacos and this had a sweet spicy kick to it. I recommend trying it!! I have also gotten the burrito before and loved it- probably more than the tacos. Small restaurant and a little pricy but really good food and drinks! The happy hour deals are great too. read more

The establishment is pretty small, and in an awkward part of the street. There is outside seating. However, the parking lot is small. The bar is full as it is happy hour. There are good options on the happy hour menu. Pricing is very reasonable. I will give the wings a 8/10, i wasn't really impressed with the like Creme a, however, the Buffalo sauce was good. My sister lives in Richmond and took me to this little gem about a year ago. It's now my go-to place every time I'm in town. I have been to En Su Boca many times since 2020. During the height of COVID, I ordered take out. It was their only option. The taco bowls are the best option to order take out. If you can handle cheese, I highly recommend the queso covered option. As this spot opened up more (COVID less threat), I enjoyed the outdoor window to order food and drinks. I wish there was more seating for this area. There is always a wait here. It can be packed on a Monday night. It is not my first choice for tacos in Richmond. However, I haven't had a bad experience here. It is best to sit outside. Inside is small and crowded. I highly recommend the Mexican street corn. It will literally make your mouth water! As a vegetarian there are many great options for taco filling. I recommend the brussels sprouts taco. The sprouts are crisp and seasoned perfectly. I also enjoy their speciality flavored margaritas. The service here is absolute incredible. The waiter and waitress that served my party of 8 at almost 11 PM were so nice. They kept drinks coming and refills were often. Seating was a little uncomfortable in my opinion. The queso and chips are some of the best I've had. The chips themselves are incredible. The salsa is not really my thing, but others at my table enjoyed it. The quesadilla I got was pretty big in size but it was a little too dry for me. The chicken tasted more like pulled pork, which I don't like but the overall quesadilla was alright. The cilantro on top added some nice flavor as well. Although this spot is a little pricy, I still think the quality is worth it. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a little twist on your typical mediocre Mexican food. read more

I've been here a handful of times and while I enjoy it, is not my favorite place for tacos. I've tried four or five different flavors and none of them really wowed me. it they're open late on the weekends and that's the main appeal for me. Good chips, good dip, good guac, good queso. Will definitely not be my last time ordering it. My wife's salad and my sons quesadilla were all very good. Portion sizes were very generous and much appreciated! We needed to find a spot to grab food and drinks before our event and En Su Boca did not disappoint. The weather was nice so we opted to sit outside. If you decide do to that, just make sure that you are in the shaded area (usually the benches). We were at a table across from that and the sun was showing us a little too much love. After eating, we asked to move into to a shader table and the waitress was accommodating. Now let's get into the drinks, I had the jalapeno margarita and after I muddled the two jalapeno slices in the drink it was the right hint of spice. I like mine on the spicer side, but it could have been just find for someone who likes a little hint. My friend got the house margarita and liked it! Only disappointment was the amount of ice the put in the drinks - overkill, but more incentive to drink it fast so the drink doesn't get watery. Now for the food, wow! My friend got the burrito and it was really enough for two people! She ate about half and took the rest to-go. I had two tacos and they were amazing - the chicken tinga (my safe go-to) and the brussel sprouts. OMG. I need to figure out a way to recreate it, but it was amazing. Also, love that they had vegan options! We opted for a beer after our food and had one that was on special - the Coco Caliente brewed in Ashburn. I am NOT a beer person, but I really enjoyed this one. Also, we got the nachos and salsa trios. All were pretty good, and the chips are definitely unique. I recommend everyone try them! Pretty average experience. Got the 4 tacos for $13 and while it was plentiful, I wasn't satisfied by the taste. The best tacos are definitely the fish tacos so get at least one of those! The rest are okay, some meats are more dry than others and one of them came super wet, not sure which ones. The corn tortillas are super thick and they layered it with two for each taco, which became really overwhelming at some point so I just ate only the protein. I got the fried fish burrito which was delicious. Not too much rice which is a pet peeve of mine with burritos. The fish was tasty although I do wish there was more of it. The burrito was super filling! Definitely worth it. My friend got her burrito as a bowl which she enjoyed and it was large enough to take some home for dinner. We both got margaritas and which were yummy and they didn't seem to skimp on the alcohol. They have three different options for price points depending on what kind of tequila they put in it. We both got the middle option. I asked if they had any flavors which they did. Decided on strawberry; what I didn't appreciate was I wasn't told that it was $2 extra just to add a flavor on top of the already $11 drink. I totally don't mind an up charge as long as they're up front about it. Also, if you want sour cream, lettuce, cheese, or salsa on the side it's a dollar extra; that is listed on the menu. Only the mild tasted good and I like spicy so it had nothing to do with spice level the medium and hot just didn't taste good. We got tacos so I got the sloppy Jose, my husband got the Cajun shrimp, fish taco and a sloppy Jose, we also got rice and beans to share. All of the tacos were okay, the rice and beans having the best flavor of the meal. I think if we did go back a burrito or a bowl might be better suited as the tacos were very messy with mostly meat and very little lettuce or onion. We split an order of the chips & salsas to start off; my favorite was the fire roasted tomato. Also fair warning - the grilled habanero salsa is SUPER spicy! I got the Boca Chopped Salad (romaine with pickled red onion, corn & black bean salsa, tomato, avocado, cotija cheese, & corn tortilla strips) with Avocado Caesar dressing. It was the perfect size and was so delicious. I didn't get any drinks on this trip, but I hope I can come back on my next trip to Richmond to try one (or more) of the delicious-sounding cocktails they offer! read more

Their homemade chips have the best crunch, be sure to also order salsa AND guac! You won't regret it. I've tried the tacos, burritos and quesadillas and honestly can't choose which one I like more. Their margaritas pair well with every dish and are equally as delicious! A great restaurant in a busy location in Scott's Addition. It is usually pretty crowded as a result so can have a long wait at times, but they have an outdoor wait area with a drink window just in case! When I come here I usually get the Mexican street corn appetizer, and a Carnitas bowl, queso covered for the main. These two make it a 5 star meal for me every time. The corn is grilled perfectly and the the lime mayo on top is great too, and is not overwhelming with chile flakes. The pork is pull apart soft, and the bowl is loaded and will fill you up. The queso is the perfect topper for it. While this meal is great, I have struggled to find other items on the menu that I would vouch for. I am not a huge fan of corn tortillas (although it does make it convenient for gluten free options) so usually avoid the tacos, and the southern fried fish is the only other protein I get knowing that it will be consistently great. En su boca does have a great seasonal drink menu, especially in the summer. It is a close walk from the baseball stadium and a great place to grab a drink and snack after on a summer night. It is a staple in Scott's Addition and has a great atmosphere. We come here often as locals and would recommend it to someone who is in the area looking for a good spot to eat and drink! read more
