We attended her pop up at Umi St. in town and there was a line prior to 11:45AM when she opened - Aunty is very kind and took everyone's order before going to the kitchen to prepare everything. Be prepared to wait around 45-60 minutes as it is just her and 1 kitchen crew. The wait was well worth it for the most delicious Nigerian food I've had on the island. Jollof Rice came with Oxtail & Jerk Chicken so we could try both and they were seasoned immaculately. The Jollof rice has some heat that builds as you eat it and the oxtail was a hefty piece. The jerk chicken had a nice spice & sear to it, it provided a nice balance to the fatty oxtail. There is also pieces of plantain that come with this plate. Fufu is neutral flavored pounded yam (comparable texture to a stickier mashed potato) - It pairs well with the smokey, earthy & spicy flavors of the Egusi Soup. The soup is very hearty and more akin to a stew with how much protein & veggies are in the bowl. My total came out to $51.00 for these three items. read more

I really wanted to support Enchanted by Aloha at the Aloha Festival, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. It seemed like there was a lot of miscommunication between the staff of 4 throughout the event. From where I was standing, everyone was trying their best, but it didn't seem like there was a clear system in place. The person in charge appeared to be focused on directing staff, but the overall flow never really improved. The ordering process also became confusing. It didn't seem like there was a reliable way to track what each customer had ordered, which led to people receiving food they didn't purchase. About an hour into the event, several menu items had already sold out. My group ordered oxtail with fufu and Egusi with fufu, but because they had run out of several food, we were served fish, one piece of jerk chicken, egusi, and gari instead. Gari is very different from fufu, so it wasn't an equivalent substitute for us. We also had to wait over an Hour to get the actual food. To their credit, the staff apologized for the issues and offered a $5 refund, which I appreciate. I know events like this can be challenging, and I don't think anyone intended for things to go this way. Better planning, a more organized ordering system, and keeping track of customer orders would have made a huge difference. I genuinely hope they take the feedback to heart because the food itself has a lot of potential. I'd be willing to give them another chance if these organizational issues are addressed. read more

Tried to text ahead and asked if I could preorder, however a sweet woman called me shortly after my text to tell me unfortunately she doesn't take pre-orders because it causes confusion. She said to come early! Arrived 1 hour before they opened. (Aiea location) Owner gave everyone tickets (didn't mention what it was for) and fruit snacks to thank everyone for coming and supporting. The owner asked everyone to take out their numbers and started calling out numbers, if your number was called, you were a lucky recipient of their Enchanted by Aloha wear. (A tied-dyed shirt in various colors) After giving out about 6 shirts, she started taking and completing orders. I have been watching various videos of people eating fufu and I was very excited to try it. I finally got to taste fufu and it was delicious. The Egusi soup tasted very earthy and full of flavors with a little kick. The jerk chicken and jollof rice were also flavorful and delicious. Cash or Venmo, although it's probably easier if Venmo since she verifies you paid the correct amount for your order. By the time I left, the line was full of 30+ patrons and the parking lot was full and cramped! Looking forward for her taking preorders so the wait isn't too long and more organized. :) read more

Very delicious cooking. I am thankful that she has shared her Nigerian culture with us here in Hawaii. However, her level of service can be confusing and frustrating at times. Very nice lady but is also unorganized and has no efficient system as a business owner. Wait times are longer because of this. She takes my cash but doesn't always give back my change right away, then will forget the amount of cash I've handed her. She often asks to be reminded of what you ordered, and when you think you're done ordering, she asks you to come back to the window to ask additional questions about your order. Instead of waiting until the entire order is complete, she brings out the plates at different times and has asked another customer to bring back the first half of their order and show her to make sure she doesn't give them extra food. She would benefit from using a simple receipt book so she doesn't have to rely just on memory and she can give the customers a numbered ticket to call when their order is ready. She only takes CASH or VENMO which is fine. But I have seen her take the order and make the food before the customer pays, and then get into conflict when the customer does not have any form of payment. Confirming payment first will save a lot of troubles. She's no longer in a fixed location, and now takes her truck to various spots around the island, mostly on base or Waipio. I recommend following her instagram but she unfortunately doesn't post her location until the day of. She doesn't post her schedule in advance, making it very hard to track her down. I used to come often when she was at the old Sear's parking lot. So it's been months until I finally had a day off and was relieved to find she was in Waipio -- just to find that her efficiency hasn't improved since the last time I came. I love that she's getting more business but I cannot keep coming back if this is the service every time. She definitely could use more helping hands. read more

The lovely lady running the truck serves Nigerian food, something I've always wanted to try. Fufu has been on my foodie bucket list for years, and let me just say... I'm officially obsessed. My husband and I ordered the fufu with egusi spinach soup, and a plate of lamb with jollof rice and cabbage. The fufu? It's hard to describe--soft, dough-like, almost stretchy, but not like mochi. It doesn't have a strong flavor on its own, but the texture is so satisfying, especially when dipped into that bold, spicy, flavorful egusi soup. The soup came with a tender piece of meat (maybe lamb?) and a chicken drumstick. Absolutely packed with flavor! My husband really enjoyed the lamb plate too--the jollof rice was spicy and savory, and the cabbage added a nice balance. But if I'm being honest, I'm team fufu all the way. The woman in the truck does everything herself--takes the order, cooks, and processes payment. She accepts Venmo or cash (Venmo is easiest for her). While at the Food and New Products Show I had a hard time deciding what to eat. There were so many choices but I kept coming back here because it was different. I have never had Nigerian food so I decided to get the lamb and jerk chicken plate which also came with rice and tossed green salad. The jerk chicken and lamb both had good flavor. The jerk chicken was not that spicy if you are concerned about that. You can tell the food was made with care and attention. The only thing that could have been better is the carrots included were not fully cooked so they were hard and crunchy. My other half and I, Frist time trying authentic Nigerian food. We ordered the the spinach soups with fufu, the jerk plate and fried plantains. The cook/owner was super helpful as this was our first time trying Nigerian food. The spice was not my favorite but still was good, the fufu was my favorite and I definitely did not eat it traditionally, I couldn't help but chew lol but it reminded me of the texture of mochi but the tasted like mashed potatoes. We saw a few different trucks in the Pearlridge lineup and after social media research, we went with Enchanted. Service 2.5/5. We were up first and I asked if there were smaller portions (mini-plate kine) and was told no then "how much you got, 20? I'll make you a plate for 20!" Red flag #1. We ordered her combo meal Jerk Chicken and Shrimp and Jerk Chicken and Lamb and I'm telling you she'll give you more than your money's worth. It was THE BEST Jerk Chicken I've had on island by far hands down. The shrimp was super fresh and her veggies were so nicely seasoned but not salty and still had a crunch to every bite. Can't stand when I get veggies in a dish and it's mushy. Her cabbage wasn't undercooked or over cooked. It was absolutely perfect. Perfect seasoning perfectly cooked. We saw this booth at The Food and New Product Show at the Blaisdell and decided to look around before deciding what we wanted to eat. It was still early and I think we were the first customers when we circled back as something made us want to try the food here and we are so glad we did as it did not disappoint. First, I got the combo plate of lamb and jerk chicken. Everything on the plate was delicious although I did wish the lamb was a little more tender. The chicken was tender and full of flavor with whatever seasonings they use and the rice can't be beat. Nothing was oily and the flavors were great with a little kick here and there. The toss green salad was fresh and I did not have to pull out any wilted, mushy lettuce like some other places. Unfortunately, there were no plantains like how other reviewers posted in their pictures. My other half got the oxtail and the pieces were huge. I thought it was going to be tough when I saw how large they were but was told that it was flavorful and tender. I was told "that lady knows how to cook!" Fufu has been all over my social media and my Nigerian friend loves it! I ordered the fufu with spinach soup. Absolutely blown away. The price was well worth it, which is unusual for me to say. I've never tried such flavor combinations and it wasn't overpowering since I grew up with Hispanic food. Fufu had mochi-like texture and the soup platter had a chicken drumstick and big chunks of meat, so it was very filling. The service was also so friendly and refreshing. My husband and I went to this and one other food truck. We're so happy to support the smaller businesses in this location. The fufu is a white starchy root vegetable (a bit like poi but less viscous). You would pull a sticky piece of fufu with your fingers and dip it into the spinach soup.
