Overall the food is tasty but today they forgot the green onions and kamaboko toppings on our plate. The tempura wasn't hot and more room temp - a lil cold. Went to the Jolene's by the bay night market and made my way around the food truck vendors. When you're hungry, everything looks good and smells good! LOL! By the food display, everything did look good, so I went for the kalbi fried noodles. It was tasty, noodles on the warm to cold side so went home to microwave a bit. The Kalbi was little dry and not too tender but had good taste. There was some kind of dressing on this plate that gave it a good taste. The special was a Kalbi noodle with lemonade for $25. Pricey? Maybe. I don't know. I had the green river lemonade which was a speciality lemonade so my price came out $27. The green river lemonade was great tasting but I didn't like all the lemon seeds coming up through the straw! do I drink that too? They had a short line but it moved fast. read more

I was really looking forward to trying Reecie B's. They had a display of all their food in front of the truck, and I decided to try the bang bang shrimp with fries. The sweet girl taking orders asked "are you ok with heat" I nodded and asked to make the fries extra crispy and she said no problem. After paying, she handed me my ticket and I patiently waited for my plate. It didn't dawn on me when I saw someone bring a bag a fries to the truck after waiting 10 minutes, that perhaps they didn't have fries in the truck and they had to get fries. 10 minutes later, my number is called and the boy handing me my plate says "sorry about the wait". I asked for a fork and headed for a spot in the shade. Yes, it took 20 minutes for crinkled fries and fried shrimp. I sat down, opened the plate and was very disappointed. The fries were cold and soggy, the shrimp were still crispy, but not at all hot, and there was barely any sauce. The 2 stars? well yelp doesn't do half stars, but the order-taker bumped this up from a 1 star experience. read more

First time trying this place out at Waikele. Food did look good and seem to have a lot of workers. Lady taking orders was nice, but taking everyone else's order first who she knew that came by to say hi, basically cutting line. Food then took way longer than expected about 45 mins. Wish we knew how long it will take before we even order. We end up had to substitute for poke because it was just ridiculously so long of a wait. Finally received our food, the plate container itself around was soooo oily on top and bottom which was a huge turn off besides the wait. Food wasn't good just oily and bland. Edited! Okay okay, this food truck is the truth. I usually don't like eating at food trucks but this place got me convinced that there are hidden gems on wheels. I got the Mean Plate which is fries, noodles, kalbi, and shrimp tempura. The price was a little steep but it was worth it in my opinion. The noodles had lots of flavor, the shrimp tempura was perfect crisp and soft meat that melted, and the fries were a perfect crisp. The sauce was ono and it infused with the fries. My only complaint is that i didn't have more. The kalbi was a bit overcooked but it still tasted good. The service was great, aunty was super nice. This is a good spot if you're looking for something fast and lots of flavors. Overall food was 4.8/5. I would go back here and try their fries and poke. read more

We've seen this truck at events like Full Moon Market at Residence Inn, What The Truck at Waikele, and recently at the Kapolei Hale Christmas block party. This time around we try to get their early right after they set up. They always have a line and sell out. The portions are big and worth the price! The food wasn't even what I ordered and the lady gave me half cooked stuff which I'm assuming was from rushing. Everyone in the truck gave a super sketchy vibe and this truck was a huge waste of my time and money. The food was mediocre and I was really disappointed since I've heard good things about them. Rude, lied, and overpriced. More of a take your money and not deliver what's promised kind of service. Even the lady's "kindness" was over exaggerated and phony, she was being real sarcastic and making up stories to cover her incompetence. Attended the What da truck in Waikele last night almost closing time. We ordered the boneless kalbi plate, special plate with tempura shrimp and noodles and deep fried Oreos. The kalbi was boneless (which is great) but it tasted more like teriyaki rather than kalbi. The taste wasn't so great in general. My tods salad had no dressing which disappointed me and the kings Hawaiian roll was amazing as usual. The special plate with shrimp tempura and noodles was okay. The noodles wasn't to great according to my bf but the shrimp tempura was good. The deep fried Oreos is horrible. The Oreos were cold, and at this point didn't taste deep fried and crunchy and was literally soggy. They must've had it already made because it took no more than 4 min from ordering to receiving them. I probably will not recommend this place and it's because of what we ordered. Went to the What the truck event at Waikele located in the parking near the old Kmart location . Numerous food trucks there. Came across a yellow food truck called Reecie B's. They had a display of the food they had on their menu. They all looked delicious but I was craving for some poke nachos. The worker who took my order was very friendly. Greeted me with smile. Excellent customer service I had the option of spicy or shoyu ahi. I chose spicy. The wait wasn't long. They give you a ticket with your order number. The pick up area is set up at the back area of the food truck. Nicely set up. The person who gave me my order was also friendly. Now for the poke nacho. Portions were plenty! Yumm! This food truck is so quick and so amazing! The woman that took my order was so nice and so patient with me as I attempted to order for three people. I had a bunch of mixed up orders and she is the owner (I believe). She was so hospitable and sweet, I knew I was taken care of. I started with the spicy kalbi fries. AND WOW. Can I just say that whatever they use for it, they are genius. The kalbi fries have an amazing spicy kick, without too much, as well as a wonderfully sweet. The fries itself are crispy, and well made. The spicy sauce is just enough not to hurt you (which is important to people that can't handle spicy). The kanak attack plate came with everything you'd want! The laulau had such an amazing taste and the leaves (which is my favorite part) were so rich and so salty, I loved it! Brah! Ok, I'm gonna give my review of just the stuff I ate that my wife brought home. I had Pastele stew, Pastele, gandule rice, chicken long rice, and kalua pig. By far the best thing on that list was the Pastele stew. I gotta admit that it was some ono stuff. The texture was that of a Pastele beaten into a stew with chunks of meat and olives. Hence the 3 stars. The chicken long rice was good too, not to hard for mess that up. The gandule rice ok not bad I would order again. The Pastele was a little dry and not as flavorful as other places on the island. The kalua pig! TERRIBLE! They shouldn't even call that kalua pig. They should call it pulled pork liquid smoke. That was the worst attempt at kalua pig I ever tasted. No get me wrong, liquid smoke has a place in the cooking world but not on this plate. The worst ever. Do not order kalua pig ever from this place. I hope they change that up or at least take it off the menu. I would still recommend to try this place for the Pastele stew just stay clear of the liquid smoke pork. read more

Charisse and her crew cooks such amazing food! We ordered a blend of two menus, Filipino and Hawaiian, for my daughter's grad part.
