I was really looking forward to trying Reecie B's. They had a display of all their food in front of the truck, and I decided to try the bang bang shrimp with fries. The sweet girl taking orders asked "are you ok with heat" I nodded and asked to make the fries extra crispy and she said no problem. After paying, she handed me my ticket and I patiently waited for my plate. It didn't dawn on me when I saw someone bring a bag a fries to the truck after waiting 10 minutes, that perhaps they didn't have fries in the truck and they had to get fries. 10 minutes later, my number is called and the boy handing me my plate says "sorry about the wait". I asked for a fork and headed for a spot in the shade. Yes, it took 20 minutes for crinkled fries and fried shrimp. I sat down, opened the plate and was very disappointed. The fries were cold and soggy, the shrimp were still crispy, but not at all hot, and there was barely any sauce. The 2 stars? well yelp doesn't do half stars, but the order-taker bumped this up from a 1 star experience.

Frozen fries deep fried. Frozen tempura shrimp. $22.00 next time I'll go to Coastco and buy the entire bag.

Stumbled on Reecie B's Food Truck during a "What the Truck" event in Waikele. The Furikake Seared Ahi Katsu was simply amazing! No wonder why this place is so popular.

Really good fries and chicken, i've had it twice and paid $16 the first time and $17 the second time at two separate events.

Okay okay, this food truck is the truth. I usually don't like eating at food trucks but this place got me convinced that there are hidden gems on wheels. I got the Mean Plate which is fries, noodles, kalbi, and shrimp tempura. The price was a little steep but it was worth it in my opinion. The noodles had lots of flavor, the shrimp tempura was perfect crisp and soft meat that melted, and the fries were a perfect crisp. The sauce was ono and it infused with the fries. My only complaint is that i didn't have more. The kalbi was a bit overcooked but it still tasted good. The service was great, aunty was super nice. This is a good spot if you're looking for something fast and lots of flavors. Overall food was 4.8/5. I would go back here and try their fries and poke.

I saw Reecie B's at the Honolulu Night Market in Kaka'ako. I had their D.T.S. which was Boneless Kalbi atop a bed of Fried Noodles atop a bed of French Fries.

This food truck has become our favorite in the past year. We've seen this truck at events like Full Moon Market at Residence Inn, What The Truck at Waikele, and recently at the Kapolei Hale Christmas block party. This time around we try to get their early right after they set up. They always have a line and sell out. The portions are big and worth the price! If you like Hawaiian Filipino food like us, definitely look out for this yellow truck. It's going places ... hopefully in the direction of a retail spot and until that day comes, we will check it out. Can't wait to see you at the next event.

Tried this food truck for the first time at the What the Truck's event at Waikele and had the furikake seared ahi katsu. It looked Ono so I thought I'd try it. It tasted good, but shortly after just eating a few pieces, I had the worst food poisoning ever. Threw up on my drive home and had the runs (sorry tmi). Maybe it was just a bad batch since it was close to their closing time ‍

Attended the What da truck in Waikele last night almost closing time. We ordered the boneless kalbi plate, special plate with tempura shrimp and noodles and deep fried Oreos. The kalbi was boneless (which is great) but it tasted more like teriyaki rather than kalbi. The taste wasn't so great in general. My tods salad had no dressing which disappointed me and the kings Hawaiian roll was amazing as usual. The special plate with shrimp tempura and noodles was okay. The noodles wasn't to great according to my bf but the shrimp tempura was good. The deep fried Oreos is horrible. The Oreos were cold, and at this point didn't taste deep fried and crunchy and was literally soggy. They must've had it already made because it took no more than 4 min from ordering to receiving them. I probably will not recommend this place and it's because of what we ordered. If you get something else, then you might have a different opinion. Attached are 2 photos of each of our plates. The deep fried Oreos was not worth a picture.

Went to the What the truck event at Waikele located in the parking near the old Kmart location . Numerous food trucks there. Came across a yellow food truck called Reecie B's. They had a display of the food they had on their menu. They all looked delicious but I was craving for some poke nachos. The worker who took my order was very friendly. Greeted me with smile. Excellent customer service I had the option of spicy or shoyu ahi. I chose spicy. The wait wasn't long. They give you a ticket with your order number. The pick up area is set up at the back area of the food truck. Nicely set up. The person who gave me my order was also friendly. Now for the poke nacho. Portions were plenty! Yumm! Poke delicious and right amount of spice. Veey flavorful. The wonton chips were crispy and piled high. There wws unagi sauce drizzled on it too! I definitely will buy food from them again!

Spicy Kalbi + Kanak Attack Plate + Spicy Ahi

This food truck is so quick and so amazing! The woman that took my order was so nice and so patient with me as I attempted to order for three people. I had a bunch of mixed up orders and she is the owner (I believe). She was so hospitable and sweet, I knew I was taken care of. I started with the spicy kalbi fries. AND WOW. Can I just say that whatever they use for it, they are genius. The kalbi fries have an amazing spicy kick, without too much, as well as a wonderfully sweet. The fries itself are crispy, and well made. The spicy sauce is just enough not to hurt you (which is important to people that can't handle spicy). The kanak attack plate came with everything you'd want! The laulau had such an amazing taste and the leaves (which is my favorite part) were so rich and so salty, I loved it! The chicken long rice was hearty and full of chicken pieces, I could not believe. I am so glad I added the spicy ahi! Poke is an additional $3, and you can choose between shoyu poke or spicy (and honesty either is incredible). Please check out their social media to find where they're at or give them a call! You won't regret it!

Operated by members of the extended Ige Family, focusing on buffet catering and bento services. * Ige's Catering (Mapunapuna). Originally established by Rachel Ige since 1969, opening out of Masa's Cafeteria. This review is for Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering (Aiea). I remember years ago I once ordered pork nishime ala carte, and it was so flavorful and with the generous serving, it lasted for several meals! Because I don't live nearby, I lost track of following the Instagram/Facebook menu and the short weekday hours. Thanks to Yelper Sach T. for reminding me what Ige's has to offer! This Aiea-based business is known for its generous portions of local plate lunches, catering services, and Okinawan-style dishes like sweet sour spareribs and shoyu pork. It offers daily lunch specials and catering for events, with a reputation for large, affordable meals with leftovers. Their lunch menu for the weekdays include: turkey/chicken ala king, Korean fried chicken, fresh corned beef, meatloaf, pork tofu, roast turkey, chicken curry, checken hekka, pork teri, hamburger steak, Hawaiian plate, tripe/beef stew, long rice, bbq spareribs, shoyu chicken, roast pork, chicken fried steak/katsu, catch of the day. In addition, their weekly specials per weekday include: teri beef tips, sweet sour spareribs, curryburger stew, pork cutlet w/ gravy, shoyu chicken, baked spaghetti, fried saimin, fried chicken thighs, chicken long rice, turkey tail adobo, baked luncheon meat, fresh fish patties, pork nishime, chow fun w/ pork teri, baked rosemary chicken, and catch of the day. Plus, maki sushi and cone sushi are available. Plate lunches can come with rice. mac salad, chow mein, and pickled onions; but if you want all entrée, it's $1 more. It's astounding to think of what is available! Our recent visit included our ordering of: * Sweet sour spare ribs. This is exactly how I like my sweet sour spare ribs - vinegary, meat easily off the bone or tendon, lots of gravy over rice! Old-school cooking brings back memories of eating this when growing up! * Chicken hekka. Lots of long rice, chicken, celery, green onions, shiitake make this old-school cooking dish a winner! * Maki/cone sushi. Nice flavors to this sushi that are good for snacking! Great entrees to order in place of having to cook, as they lasted for several meals for hubby and myself! Items were pre-ordered over the phone to ensure that Ige's didn't run out of food and due to the short hours that they are open. Phone orders were done processed quickly, as they just asked for your name by friendly staff. There is a separate phone order pick-up area to expedite paying and receiving your order. Otherwise, you'll find a line of customers waiting to order in the regular order line. No dine-in, as it is strictly take-out. Hours of operation are short, Tues to Fri only from 9:30a to 1:00p only; Mon and weekends closed. Free parking available in large lot shared by other businesses in the complex. Staff works out of a kitchen behind Cutter Ford in Aiea in a "lunchwagon" style of services. Known for its delicious old-school local cuisine, extensive food choices, generous portions, affordable meals, authentic flavors, and friendly customer service, Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering in Aiea is a great place for lunch or dinner! And especially if you're too lazy to cook!

5/5/26 Found it hard to believe that I've never been here considering it has been around forever…read more I was wanting some sweet & sour spareribs which I normally get from Zippy's but they did not have it as a special that day. I read online from several foodies that Ige's has the best on the island and it was their Tuesday special. Easy to find, behind Cutter Ford, past Napa Auto Parts to the end of the building. They are a hole in the wall with a huge parking lot that can get pretty full. I was fortunate to find one right in front. It was just after noon & I was expecting a long line but no, no line. In fact, there were only 2 people at each counter window. They also had some other daily specials so I decided on a mixed plate of BBQ beef tips and sweet & sour spareribs. Got to the window and the guy told me the beef tips sold out so I opted for just the spareribs for $15. I was greeted by 2 friendly employees, a lady at the register and a guy, who got the plates. Service was very quick and the prices are cheap to the massive amount of food you get. They mostly take cash and will take credit card, $20 minimum. The plates come wtih you choice of white or brown rice, and mac or toss salad. It also comes with pickled onions, but they'll ask you if you want it. After I picked up my bag, it was pretty heavy, at least a couple of pounds. When I got home, I wasn't wrong. The spareribs filled more than 1/2 the plate! Taste - hands down the best sweet & sour spareribs on the island, better than Zippy's. Flavor was spot on with just the right balance of sweet to sour. The meat was so tender, fall off the bone. Speaking of which, there were very few bones in this dish! Nice surprise since a lot of places serve theirs with lots of bones & meat is not tender. The pickled onions were ono! The plate could easily be shareable, in fact, it lasted me 3 meals+. Ige's is certainly a hidden gem - great tasting food, affordable prices, quick and friendly service, good value. You can also call in your order and you don't have to stand in the long line to get it. They have a separate window past the main entrance with a sign saying, Take-Out Window. I will definitely be back . Support local!
