I haven't been to the Enchanted Cottage's new location yet, so I was very interested to see it. Pros: -Décor is top tier. They have more space and rooms and took full advantage of it. I absolutely adored going into every room! -I liked how they advertised the sales throughout the store. -Large selection of items and crystals! They definitely updated their displays, and they are huge and lovely. Cons: -First time folks may have a tough time getting here. I could have easily passed the location if I wasn't careful. -Parking is a bit small, makes maneuvering a little harder with the fence. Street parking is available, though. -This isn't really a criticism, but I do miss the magical garden that they had at the old location. It would probably be impossible, but I hope in the future they could try and incorporate it somehow, maybe in the front? Overall, I do adore the new location. This is going to be their permanent residence, so I very much look forward to seeing how it grows! read more

I needed a candle, a white candle, and Enchanted Cottage was rated in the top 10 candle stores in Bakersfield. The owner/employee (I apologize for not remembering his name) was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions...except about the "Vegas" room and suggested which candle I should buy. I didn't know what the business catered to, I needed a candle. But it's a very interesting business and I'm going back. I fully recommend that you check them out. read more

This was my first time in the store. I had found this place through Yelp which made me extremely happy that there was a crystal store in Bakersfield. I don't believe in listening to others negativity. I wanted to experience this place myself and I'm glad I did. The ambiance was very inviting and quaint. I loved the overall feel of the store and was amazed by their selection of crystals, incense, sages, books, etc. I went around a few times and grabbed a few pieces that spoke to me and had a lovely conversation with the owner. This was my first time visiting a business like this. I did not know what to expect as another review was posted. I have been wanting to come here since their last location. Just never had the chance. Just a small background of me, I was skeptical of this whole environment about spiritual healing and mystical energies. I initially came here for recommendations on stones/crystals to alleviate the negativity I was experiencing. When I walked in, I felt a sense of welcomeness, calmness, and I felt clean. Whatever the f that means. I just felt really good. It was a trip! I met the owner who helped me out with what crystals to get, how they work, and all that. I also stated I had been hearing wild noises late at night at home and I wanted to cleanse the house. I ended up purchasing a small sage. I ended up doing a small ritual around the house, and for some weird reason, I think it worked. Back to the crystals I purchased, I firmly believe they worked! Idk why or how but everything around me has been great. Life is great! Back to the business. There is so much variety of things. So many crystals, candles, incense, and books, they even have Ouija boards for sale! Yeeee.... Idk if I would ever purchase one though. There is a section where you can make your own candles with herbs and oils (apt only). They have a séance room too! They also have a psychic / palm reader almost every day. Never shop with this site. If you don't like something the owner is rude to you. This store had a racial slur on one of their posts and when called out on it they called me by someone else's name and blocked me. Also changed their post to remove the slur. Instead of stating anything about the slur they have removed my ability to communicate with them. I didn Don't bother stating anything negative about this store on google or their website. If they don't like your review they block it and you from any ability to comment on, review or shop with them. I was recommended to shop to explore spiritual healing and there are so many options to choose from! I purchased the Hematite ring and was explained that it repels negative energy, and once the ring breaks, the negative energy has left your spirit, my ring later than broke that same day. However, I'm always a seeker of knowledge and love learning so this was basically that. A quest for something new to learn about. The store is very charming, warm, and full of all that you may need. We liked it so much that we came back and had a reading with Tommy. I'll be honest, I was skeptical, maybe more than skeptical, but I was entirely impressed. This is hands down my favorite shop I have visited in California. My boyfriend and I came in from San Diego for business and I made him take me here he was going to wait in the car with our dog, but the owner informed me he was dog friendly, and helped my "muggle" boyfriend pick out his first crystal of his own!! I love enchanted cottage but it's the people there that make it even better! I've always gone here for my spiritual tools. With the covid pandemic I was worried I'd have to order my sage or whatnot online from a place I didn't know. Bruce and Stan (of enchanted cottage) made everything available online and with curbside pick up! I was so happy when I friend told me about this. I miss browsing the store but I've used the curbside pick up a couple times this year. My order was ready the same day both times. It's still magical when I receive my items.
