I hired Enchanted Electric to install a sub-panel for a small office/utility room at my house. Brooklyn, the person who I had been corresponding with, went above and beyond in ways that I couldn't have imagined. While working on the sub-panel (this involved running a long conduit line up and over my roof and through several structures), he brought to my attention that the main panel at my house was not to code and could cause problems insurance-wise and otherwise. He put in the extra time and work to make sure that I was protected and that the existing electrical wouldn't cause issues down the road. Brooklyn is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, timely and communicative. He always contacted me prior to showing up to my house and also called the days he wasn't able to make it. I hired Brooklyn for this project in the winter time and he showed up and worked in chilly temperatures to finish the sub-panel. He was incredibly busy and always made sure that I was in the loop about when he would be over next. A few months after Brooklyn had finished the sub-panel project, a friend of mine (a local welder/machinist) had come by to check out my new space and he immediately knew Brooklyn had done the electrical just by looking at the sub panel wiring. He noted I know that so often folks in these roles are undervalued and under-appreciated. Enchanted Electric is worth the time and the money. The laying of a new CBN cable for Los Alamos County has caused a couple of lengthy power outages, and so, on the morning of June 18 I was not overly alarmed that we again had no internet and that our lights and appliances were behaving erratically. Late that afternoon, however, when a surge protector 'popped' and there was that electrical smell, I decided to measure the current in some outlets. None were 110-120. Most were either 75 or 150; a few were lower and one was 175. This was the situation when, around 6:00, I called the Santa Fe number that our CA-based son had found on line for 24-hour electrical service. Enchanted Electric. I expected voice mail. Instead, Brooklyn answered. He listened and then directed me to immediately turn off the main breaker and phone our County Utilities department. He explained that if the problem was the county line, they'd fix it, but if it was not, this was a serious problem, an emergency, and he'd clear his schedule to be up to Los Alamos, even that evening. He asked me to call with an update so he could make the arrangements necessary; he'd answer until 10:00. Can you imagine? In the end, the problem was the county line, not the house. Apparently, after the March 2019 storm --the one that toppled hundreds of trees and damaged power lines all over town -- a little patch of line with a little damage went undetected, and six years later it let us know. I contacted C.D. and Enchanted Electric when the gate to my property failed. They responded to my voicemail within 15 minutes and C.D. (owner) was at my house within three hours. Importantly, he first made it very clear about the cost for an emergency visit, enabling me to assess the cost/benefit before confirming the appointment. Once at my house, he was incredibly thorough and rigorous about understanding the root cause of the gate failure. The bad news was that the wiring had been installed in a way that the failure required an incredibly expensive and time-consuming repair. The good news, however, was that C.D. recommended a solar-based replacement system that cost less than half the amount to repair the original. Once we agreed to use the solar system, C.D. and his staff were incredibly proactive, professional and responsive. C.D. was out of town at a conference for a few days, but responded to my various questions very quickly and thoroughly. Long story short, my gate system was replaced within days and is a much better long-term solution than the original. It can be very frustrating, time-consuming and confusing when one needs to turn to an electrician in an urgent situation. However C.D. and Enchanted Electric were consummate professionals. I have great respect for how C.D. runs his business and I can't recommend him and his company highly enough! read more

For some inexplicable reason, the circuit breaker controlling our refrigerator "tripped" on two occasions, about two weeks apart. Knowing that we would be out of town in the coming weeks, it was important to address this issue. We contacted Brooklyn, and he was able to schedule an appointment 3 days later. He thought that the most likely cause was "arcing" at one of several kitchen plugs that are served by the breaker. He made sure that all wires were properly attached to the plugs (some wires were poorly attached), insulated the wires with electrical tape, and added a splice so that if one outlet failed, others on the circuit would not. I appreciated Brooklyn's thorough explanation of the how and why of the work he was doing. (Incidentally, I had tried to reach the sub-contractor electrician that installed wiring in 2019 when the house was built, but that contractor went out of business.) My husband and I just recently bought a house, and we slowly have been finding out some of the issues with the electrical wiring of the house. Enchanted Electric was able to meet with us before we went to work- His office is in Santa Fe but traveled all the way to Espanola to see us for a 7:30 AM appointment. I have to say that he was very honest about his prices and what was needed to be done, cost effective ways to go about getting the work done. We recently hired Enchanted Electric for some electrical work at our office, and I must say that the quality of CD's work is impressive. He was knowledgeable, professional, and efficient in completing the task I needed done. The result was certainly satisfactory. However, I must mention that the cost of their services was quite steep. While I believe in paying for quality work, I was taken aback by the final bill. Just to add a little context, the work was completed on a Saturday. That said, we were billed just under $2,400.00 for less than four hours of work. It would have been more comforting if their pricing was a bit more reasonable and aligned with market standards. All in all, Enchanted Electric delivers respectable electrical services that are hard to fault in terms of quality. If budget constraints aren't a primary concern, I would recommend CD for his expertise and proficiency. Just be prepared for a higher cost than you might anticipate. read more

I contacted Enchanted Electric to solve an ongoing, frustrating dilemma with electrical outlets and power to my garage. Brooklyn recently installed a new vent/heater/light combo in one of our bathrooms. First off, he responded almost immediately to my initial text and we lined up the work quickly with few text and picture exchanges - very efficient. This after trying to chase another electrician down for weeks. Professional communication goes along way and unfortunately not always the case in Santa Fe. I appreciate having my time respected! Up front on pricing, on time, and stayed on the project till he'd solved a couple of tricky issues, including salvaging a part to fix up the vent in my other bathroom. My home was broken into by thieves, who ransacked and destroyed everything in my home which included extensive damage to both household and solar array electrical systems. The thieves were planning on taking everything, solar batteries, solar inverters, solar panels, copper in wires, everything. I called around to several electrical companies trying to find someone certified for solar repair before I was lucky enough to find CD. We recently woke up to a power outage on one side of our kitchen. We saw all of Brooklyn's great customer reviews, so we called him and he arrived later that morning. He was very thoughtful about keeping in touch with us to say exactly when he'd be arriving. And, once here, he was professional, knew his stuff and solved the issue quickly. He also had everything he needed to fix the issue right there in his truck, which made the process very efficient. We recently needed to upgrade our electrical system to accommodate air conditioning, an induction stove, and a car charger. No electrician in Los Alamos would answer calls or emails. Enchanted Electric came to our rescue and did a superb job. Communication was good, everything was handled in a very professional manner, and we are very happy with the result. Note that prices for electrical components have increased a ton recently, and paying people to come up to Los Alamos adds to the cost, so it's not cheap to have electrical work done these days. But it's so worth it to have someone who actually answers the phone and knows his stuff and has a perfectionist streak. We will definitely call again if anything comes up. read more

Brooklyn was responsive, communicative, and great at explaining the details of what he was doing and his findings to me. He responded to our call, identified a critical problem, which he immediately reported to and was confirmed by PNM. Until resolved, PNM turned off all electrical power. I had a pretty simple job (broken light switch in the bathroom and a non-working ceiling light in the kitchen) and Brooklyn was able to schedule it quickly, showed up on time (a bit early actually), and completed the work in under a half hour. The work was done perfectly. I'm subtracting one star because of what seem like high rates ($250 per hour, one hour minimum). He's very transparent about that however. His services would be more cost effective for someone with a few items that need to be completed. The next time we need an electrician, Enchanted Electric will be the service I call, and I will try to schedule an even one or two hours of work. read more

First I would like to say how professional CD was, not only did he get the job done on time just like CD had stated, but I have never seen someone do a job with such integrity to make sure every aspect of the job was done to perfection. I know the 3 sub panels CD installed were done above and beyond what is recommended.
