This place is tucked away upstairs in a suite at some chiropractor's office. You have to get buzzed in and go upstairs. If it does matter to you, the ambiance is not exactly luxurious - no aromatherapy or special views. Just some meditation music playing out of an ipad and a couple candles. Regardless, the massage itself was great. Mandy really goes at all the knots and ensures the massage is from head to toe. It was a very well spent 60 minutes.

I purchased a set of 10 appointments (at a discounted rate), and I am so glad I did. Rolfing would not have been effective for me as a one time appointment. I had a lot of residual pain and chronic inflammation that I needed consistent help with. At the start of the process, Allie was very thorough in reviewing my specific needs and what I was hoping to address. There's a lot of discomfort in the moment during Rolfing - I am not going to sugar coat it - it is intense. At the same time, I am so glad I stuck with it. Allie begins each session checking in and following up on the last treatment - she wants to know what works and what needs more focus and adjusts her plan accordingly. After each session I am more steady on my feet, more flexible and coordinated (which I have been missing) and less inflamed. And I am able to handle more pressure with less pain as the sessions progressed. Another couple we are good friends with joined us. Alexis reached out ahead of the session to solicit our ideas for the time together and make sure we were fully prepared. When she arrived she immediately set a relaxed, joyful, loving mood. She taught us both a seated, neck/shoulder massage and a more immersive, laying down full back massage with oil. With our small group she provided regular 1:1 feedback, which was very helpful. She also kept it low stress and fun for all. Since the session we have continued to practice some of what we learned. For example, he told me to tense my bicep (I'm there for lower back which he has not yet addressed) so I "made a muscle". He said "I didn't ask you to tense your whole arm, just your bicep." Which was true so I tried again but it wasn't intuitive to flex one muscle without others, so I did it wrong again. He then grabbed my wrist and bent my arm and said "see?" Oh, not flexed like I thought. I didn't know. This went on and on -- basically he was showing me I involved too many muscles because I was tense but it was like trial and error with no focus on my back pain. Finally, 55 minutes in he gets to my problem area and ultimately had to go 5 minutes overtime (making a to-do about resetting some sort of timer) and telling me that other practitioners only do 50 minutes. Maybe so, I thought, but they probably also give you treatment on the problem area and not a game of really hard (for me) "Simon says" until 55 minutes have passed. Anyway, bad fit for me who had an acute issue and needed treatment fast.
