A duct to our bedroom was never connected, there was no cutout made in the trunk, and no flex duct was installed. Another duct, which we had discussed lifting off the attic floor to allow access, was never suspended. These issues should have been caught before the job was closed out. We made every effort to support a smooth install: clearing our garage, moving items for equipment storage, purchasing extra plywood, and even running an air scrubber to improve attic air quality for the crew. After posting a review explaining our experience, we received a revised contract stating they would only finish the work if we removed our review and waived our labor warranty. That didn't sit right with us. We also reported a worker's inappropriate comments that made my wife and I uncomfortable, and our concerns were dismissed. The work in question would take about an hour to complete, but after weeks of follow-up, we've had no resolution. We're hiring another HVAC company to finish the job and plan to pursue recovery through small claims court. We hope others have a better experience, but based on ours, we recommend double-checking everything before signing off.

During that time he or an employee have been to the house three times. Each time, between the time I called and when they showed up, things would start working properly again. So they would try to diagnose the issue based on my description and do what seemed to be appropriate, and things would be fine for a while but eventually the problem would recur. So yesterday he showed up with an expensive piece of equipment to properly diagnose the issue, and having done so, brought in another expensive piece of equipment to fix the problem. He was there for over two hours, and along the way, he mentioned what he normally charges for use of that equipment because of what it cost him. I was OK with it; I was just happy to have the problem finally fixed. But when he was done, he said that he wasn't happy about the past "misdiagnoses" and I shouldn't have to pay for them, and he ended up charging me about a third of what I was expecting. When I offered to meet him halfway, he said, "Sorry, I've already entered it into the system, nothing I can do." I can't promise that you'll get price breaks like I got on this occasion, but I can promise that you won't get ripped off, and that you'll get excellent service.

13 yrs ago, I purchased my home new and Ecks Air was hired by the builder to install the HVAC units…read morefor all the homes in the neighborhood. The first summer living here our air conditioning shut down and the owner from Ecks Air (Mark) came out and said the refrigerant was low and it just needed to be "charged up". This worked fine for the rest of the summer. The following summer our system shut down again and Ecks came out acting clueless and said the system is fine and just needs another charge. I learned later on that at this point Mark from Ecks Air definitely knew something was wrong and was taking the lazy, unethical route out of the situation. The same thing happened the third summer living here and I asked around and learned this is not normal so I asked the owner of Ecks (Mark) some difficult questions that he was not happy to answer. He finally said there must be a leak and unfortunately we're out of warranty at that point in time so he can't replace the unit and if we wanted to replace it, we would have to pay for it ourselves regardless that this was giving us a problem since the first year we moved in. He also said he was going to be a good guy and continue "charging up" the unit free of cost each summer until the day we replace the unit. This summer, which is our 13th year here, he comes out, charges up the unit, and tries to charge me for it. When I question why he's charging me since 10 yrs back he said he would continue "charging up" our unit until we replace it, he said he's been doing us a favor for long enough and it can't continue. I've also recently learned there are environmental safety guidelines against "charging up" a system on a regular basis and it's extremely unethical that Ecks Air was doing this all these years. This man is very unethical and I would never recommend using Ecks Air.
