We had this company install our HVAC unit about 2 years ago, and were initially impressed with them. 3 weeks ago, we started having problems with the heat shutting off over night, leaving our house freezing cold as the temperatures dropped. We had a technician come out twice unable to figure out what the problem was. We spent TWO FULL WEEKS calling daily to ask to speak with a manager or someone in charge (our goal was to figure out how to troubleshoot the problem since the current technician couldn't figure it out), and not once did we receive a callback. At various points, the operators we spoke to expressed their sympathies and disbelief, that no one was calling us back, and repeatedly marked our callback requests as 'urgent.' After 2 weeks and no response, we had to call another company, who were able to diagnose the issue and fix it within 30 mintues (turns out Comfort Controllers incorrectly installed the unit in the first place). Luckily I was able to find someone to fix it, because Comfort Controllers still hasn't called me back over 3 weeks later; as far as they know we're still sitting in the cold, but it's clear they couldn't care less. Could not recommend this company less if you value communication, accountability, or work done properly. read more

Very disappointed in trying to schedule an appointment. First time was a no call, no show, now I'm just leaving messages and no one is returning my call to schedule a routine maintenance. A former employee was very nice to suggest that she would contact a manager for me to schedule the appointment. I might have to take her up on it considering what luck I'm having. Very frustrating experience. I would give zero stars but that's not an option :( read more

Oil tank was empty a couple of days. When we got our oil delivery, 2/3/23 our oil furnace didn't start. Comfort did helpfully tell us most likely is because the oil deliverer didn't bleed the line and they should've. we couldn't reach our oil deliverer. So we decided to go along for their emergency dispatch service, was told $195- $200, they came about 2hrs - Friday 2/3/23 about late afternoon which was nice. Service man "blead" the line and release pressure in the valve P.s.: about 5 min. Was told the price was actually $250 but he took the $220 we had. Misunderstanding I guess on our part when we got our $200 quote over phone. Service man Told us also to call back for service/maintenance of the furnace. Furnace started and was running which was great but soon after started to give off fumes and get a lil smoky around the cover. Called back and explained. Told us mostly likely what is occurring is sludge mixing with fresh oil and furnace working a lil harder wait about 48 hrs. Turned it back on and Within two hrs fumes were too strong and we got nervous with the smoke coming from cover, had to turn it off. I believe emergency dispatch with a diagnosis for maintenance, done when arrived, and a charge for $500 for dispatch and maintenance was the solution. It sucks that's we'd have to get another emergency dispatch fee for the maintenance if we wanted heat asap. Happens to be one of the coldest days of our winter here in Philly, below 20 Fahrenheit. No heat past 2 days since the service call essentially didn't achieve our aim to have our furnace running. Service was polite from phone operator to service man and they did try to provide helpful tips. And I think they drove from about 40min away.. read more

Avoid at all costs. We had Comfort Controllers install an AC unit in our home and had many issues. The last issue is humidity of about 90% and after giving us the run-around for over a month, they told us the company is sold and we should just sue the original owner. read more

I called Comfort Controllers because my heater operation was intermittent. I ruled out the flame sensor and the igniter, but told the serviceman on the phone that I can get to work if I gently bang on the gas valve during the start-up sequence. When he arrived, he immediately began changing the gas valve. I asked him if he first confirmed that it was the source of the intermittency, and he said yes because he would have performed the same "test" that I described. As he was leaving an hour later, after I paid him a discounted $615, his last words were, "call me if there are any problems." I called him two hours later and left a message stating the problem still existed. I called the company the next day to complain, but still no response. Two days later, the serviceman called me back. He said he could come out again, but would need to charge me a $95 fee to diagnose the problem, even though his first diagnosis was dead wrong. I said no thanks. I continued on my own and traced the problem to an intermittent control-board relay. I ordered a replacement on-line that cost me $2.39, plus tax. It's back to working just fine... no thanks to the folks at Comfort Controllers. read more

I had an exceptional experience with this company. My boiler went on the blink during the first cold blast last week. I was recommended to this company by my real estate agent. She said they run an honest business which put me at ease. I was impressed when Matt came over to evaluate my old system. He took his time and did a thorough inspection. He didn't look at the system and say replacement was the only option. Due to his expertise he was able to determine what parts was needed to get me back on track. Him and his partner Sean came by today and had me up and running in no time. The guys were hospitable and friendly. I would give this company 10 shining stars if possible. In an industry where most of us are beholden to whatever our serviceman might want to sell us, whenever they get around to getting there, Jon and his crew couldn't be more responsive or honest. Our older model AC went on the blink twice in mid-September and they tried everything they could to help it to hold out until next season rather than incur the cost at the end of this one. Finally it became apparent that this couldn't wait any longer so they came over and provided suggestions for the best solutions (Jon is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to HVAC history and the up-to-date most appropriate, efficient equipment for every living situation), returned within two days for the install.
