Foodies Founding Member Robyn and I head to Enoteca Adriana this past Saturday for an early dinner. And I must tell you, if you like Italian Food, this is the place to go in Pacific Beach. With all the choices in Pacific Beach, are you sure? Yes. I'm sure. With both indoor and outdoor seating and a staff that lives to accommodate, this is one of the top 5 on my list. We start with Ceasar Salad, bread and wine. Each is to its' perfection. The Salad is perfectly presented, perfectly dressed. The bread has what looks like butter dripping out, but is actually cheese. And the Wine is from Orvieto Italy. Robyn has been there and makes this great suggestion for the wine. What's next chef? We eat small portions of the Orecchiette  Bosco and Capellini Pomodoro with Shrimp. We save the rest for lunch the next day (and next day it's even better)! We are saving ourselves for dessert, Robyn's favorite part of the meal. We order Pistachio Cheesecake (not with cream cheese but ricotta), Tiramisu and Pope's Pillow (probably because after you taste it you think you died and went to heaven)! lol All three are nothing but perfection. It's great for date night later in the evening, girls night, family night if you go early. And there aren't too many other places I'm thinking about going back to and taking San Diego Foodies and Carlsbad Foodies to! This my friend is IT. Let's go! Only reason this place doesn't get five stars is our waitress was not very attentive to our drink needs in the food/complementary bread to go fairly long time to come out however, when they did come out, they were all very fresh and hot I got the seafood special and it was very good, but I had buyers remorse because I wanted at least three other pastas that I thought looked better Friend got the short rib and he eat in about three minutes. To celebrate our 400 day friend streak on Duolingo (yes, somewhat random reason) my friend and I came here with an RSVP at 6pm on a Sunday evening. While many tables were occupied, we were about to select where we wanted to sit (inside or outside) with plenty of options. It was a bit chilly and even though they had heat lamps we opted for a table inside. After reviewing the menu and hearing the specials, I opted for our server's recommendation of rigatoni al brasato while my friend got the most popular dish, pappardelle bolognese. We gave each other a sample of our dishes. I like the pasta consistency for both dishes. His was a bit softer but still had a good bite. My rigatoni had a lovely chew. I added parm and pepper flakes to my pasta and it provided a bit more depth to the flavor. I enjoyed it quite a bit We decided to share a dessert, the Pope's pillow. It has layers of custard, marscarpone and berries. It was a good dessert and perfect for sharing. Our server and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had a great experience. read more

I loved this spot in PB! It has the cutest vibes - friendly, local, casual. We came here for our anniversary and tried the burrata, the pesto pasta, beef ragu pasta, and tiramisu. The burrata and the pesto pasta stole the show. The pesto pasta comes in a parmesan shell which is insane and we added chicken so we'd have some extra protein. The tiramisu wasn't my favorite so I'd probably skip it next time. They have a great wine selection and the service was perfect. read more

My new special date night spot! We've eaten here before and always enjoyed the expertise but tonight was extra cool. Maybe it was sitting outside, a classic movie playing on the far wall, the burrata (their specialty), or the company, my lovely wife. It's a great spot. Tonight was simple, burrata and Salmon. This place is really great! I came here on a Saturday night with my parents, and the experience was wonderful from the start. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which made the evening off to a great start. Our server was attentive and gave us a great recommendation for the salad, which we decided to order first. It was delicious; the balsamic dressing was top-notch and paired perfectly with the creamy burrata, pears, and grapes. They then brought out warm bread with cheese, served with balsamic and salad dressing for dipping, which was a nice touch and so flavorful. For our entrées, we ordered the lobster ravioli, mushroom pasta, and shrimp marinara pasta. Every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Overall, the service and food truly impressed us, and I would definitely come back. read more

So Enoteca has always been wonderful since we discovered the restaurant in 2010 when it was first opened and have continued to come here often ever since. We will miss Franco as the owner/chef but we are glad that Giuseppe bought and continued service for the restaurant. Of course, when there is a new owner / chef we do expect that there will be differences. Thankfully, we get to start each meal with the cheesy hot bread and dipping sauce. The burrata remains excellent! An Excellent change was the gnocchi in the suburb and fresh red sauce . We are really sad to see the spinachi salad off the menu. Hopefully it is just seasonal because that was one of our favorite salads. Everyone has an arugula, Parmesan salad.... Orchietti Bosco was as delicious as usual. We hope that the Sea Bass in lobster reduction sauce and squid ink pasta will remain on the menu, as it is our favorite Sea bass dish in San Diego... I did notice that on my ravioli Rossi that the lobster reduction sauce wasn't quite as good as it used to be .... Other items that I see were missing is the Mediterranean cod dish. There also seems to be less soup. We also used to be able to get pasta substituted for the mashed potatoes, which we are disappointed is not happening any longer. Maybe Franco just used to do that for us since we had been coming since the restaurant opened.... We noticed the wine list isn't quite as extensive and unfortunately fees are more expensive. There have been some physical changes in the restaurant, which are nice . Again, we will continue to come frequently, but we do hope to see the return of some past menu favorites . This is a quaint little Italian, one of a kind restaurant. We went on a Sunday, which was pretty packed. Luckily we had reservation. Although the waiter was not quite attentive as we would like because he had many other seats to tend to he was OK. The food was OK, but it wasn't anything special. I did like the ambience. Made reservations for a group of 8 and the service was great and attentive! The food was also delicious Italian and space was lively with a comforting vibe. I got the Seabass Special and it was cooked perfectly with a squid ink pasta in a luscious sauce. Desserts are also wonderful here too! This was my 1st time dining at Enoteca Adriano. Really cute date night or special occasion spot. Oscar our waiter was so great, it was busy so you do have to wait a bit for food & drinks. It was worth the wait! I had the spaghetti romana and the spinach salad, DELICIOUS. Only issue that happened, my next to me was finished his pasta and there was a piece of Glass He told one of the waiters, 10 minutes later the manager came over and told the whole table, it was a piece of plastic. I found to that to be a bit unprofessional. I know mistakes but for the manager to make light of it, was kind of strange. I don't want to give it a bad rating because the food was Outstanding. This was my first time dining at Enoteca Adriano. I find the restaurant options in pacific beach to be rather lack luster so I wasn't sure how this would be. Thankfully I didn't need to worry. We were sat right away for our reservation and the service was very friendly and timely. To start, we had the burrata special which had grilled eggplant, cherry tomatoes, capers and arugula drizzled with a roasted red pepper sauce. So good! For main courses we had the spaghetti carbonara and the gnocchi. Both were very tasty, you can't go wrong with a well done carbonara. The gnocchi were very light and fluffy. One of my go-tos in the area. Brought my parents here from out of town and my dog (they are pet friendly :) Oscar was our server and was extremely patient with us and even brought us extra wine while we waited for our dinner. Seasonal Burrata is a must, and any of their pastas really. Everyone was full and drunk and we were greeted a few times by what seemed to be the manager who was a sweet pea -despite my dad making slightly uncomfortable comments. We came to celebrate a friends birthday and the servers were very accommodating and gave great recommendations. Food review: Literally everything that we tried was fantastic! Complimentary bread/olive oil: (5/5) We had to get a few plates because we could not stop eating it. So good, perfect texture, and had melted cheese inside. Bruschetta: (5/5) It was super fresh and so flavorful. We devoured this super quick and should've ordered 2 or 3 for the table. Burrata: (5/5) This was SO good. Super fresh, the balsamic was delicious and good portion. Orecchiette pasta: (10/5) This was my all time favorite dish. It was embarrassing how quickly I devoured my bowl of pasta. What a great spot! I love the cozy atmosphere and music. They have great food options for everyone. Their minestrone soup is some of the best I've had! Coming from someone who has tried nearly every italian spot in SD, this is by far my favorite and most consistent. My partner and I come here once a year on our anniversary and I get the pasta romano (the pesto pasta in the cheese bowl) every time, it is seriously so good. Happy to see it hasn't blown up quite yet, it's a nice little hole in the wall but it's a must go. We also tried the rigatoni al brasato which was also good but VERY rich. My party sat outside and was able to enjoy the beautiful San Diego evening in their covered patio with our dog. As soon as we had the freshly baked bread stuffed with mozzarella and meatball appetizer, we knew we were in for a great meal. The pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and the double cut pork chop was super moist and perfectly seasoned. We were all full, but grateful we decided to share the wild berry dessert. We had the pleasure of having dinner here for a friend's bachelorette party Saturday night and the food and ambiance literally transported us to Italy-- let me tell ya about it . Upon arrival, we waited in line behind another party to get checked-in to our 7pm reservation, but the host was no where to be found . After waiting 10 minutes, which seemed like forever in our group of 6 dressed in our show-stopping bachelorette party themed outfits, we finally got our table . The inside was decorated classic, lights were romantically dim, and the place itself had a very vintage feel . There were wine bottles in the background used as part of the esthetic . We were sat right in front near the left side of the door. Water jugs and cups were pre-set on the table and we waited another 10 mins to be greeted to order wine . We finally were greeted by Hector who was very kind and friendly, but he definitely was a busy man . He took our wine orders, brought us the complimentary bread and oil dip, and then we placed our main dish orders . Here's the food review: Cabernet was smooth and hit the spot. Perfect to balance out the rich Italian dishes ! 8.5/10 complimentary bread and dipping oil was tasty and a nice freebie. 7.5/10 Spaghetti Romano was ready to be photographed for Instagram ! Spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente just how I liked. Burrata was fresh and creamy . Pesto cream was deliciously rich and flavorful . Crushed pistachios gave some nuttiness . The pecorino cheese crust bowl was the star of the show-- Crispy, crunchy, salty, and sooo fun to eat . Recommend sharing ! 9/10 My other friends had the salmon entree, both gnocchi entrees, prosciutto salad (which i almost ordered for myself)-- they all enjoyed their dishes and presentation was lovely . They offered me to try, but I honestly was too full from my spaghetti to try them lol . The bride was offered a free dessert which was a nice touch-- she loved every bite ! Overall, food was very authentic and satisfying . Love that they have plenty of variety and even gluten-free options . We were there for a total of almost 3 hours which is a little much due to the fact that we all only had one drink each-- the bride had two drinks lol . The food is very good. Been going there for years-the servers and support staff are unfriendly, uninterested and only care about getting out of the restaurant-rushed us on every plate... I do not plan to go back. The staff was un pleasant -2 servers were great. But end of the day. The service and the rushness was un fun and unacceptable. This review is mostly just for the gnocchi. The pesto and the shrimp in the gnocchi was spectacular. Very good and delicious. However the gnocchi itself was a bit mushy in texture and just didn't hit the mark for me. I like my gnocchi soft, billowy and more fluffy and this was kinda mushy. Although the flavor was there it was the texture. The spaghetti carbonara was very delicious. One of the best carbonaras I've had.. The meatballs and the burrata also were very good. The customer service also was good. Again. If it wasn't for the texture of the gnocchi I would have given 4 stars but I am big on gnocchi and I've tried many of the gnocchi in San Diego and for that I took off one star. I'd totally eat here again just probably wouldn't get my favorite Italian dish ever which is gnocchi. read more
