Dear Management, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the experience I recently had at Harper Audi Knoxville while attempting to purchase a used 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance and trade in my 2023 Lexus IS500. As a former two-time Audi A7 owner, I expected a high standard of customer service, transparency, and professional communication. Instead, my experience was characterized by lowball offers, unsolicited add-ons, poor communication, and ultimately a complete lack of faith in your sales process. Below is a brief outline of the events: Initial Lowball Trade-In Offer: August 17th, I was initially offered a trade-in value for my Lexus that was $7,000 below Lexus of Knoxville's valuation and $6,000 below Tesla's. It was only after I left the dealership that sales representative Kay called to match the fair trade-in value of $58,000. Unwanted Add-ons: Later that day, a deal sheet was provided, an unrequested $1,499 charge for "ECP Plus" (paint and interior protection) had been tacked on. I requested its removal before moving forward. Supercharging Issue & Contradictory Claims: The Tesla displayed a "Paid charging unavailable" error. I informed Kay I would proceed with the purchase provided this issue was resolved, as restricted Supercharging severely limits the vehicle's utility. On August 18th via text, Kay claimed the vehicle was taken to Tesla, but that neither your dealership nor Tesla could find a solution. Lack of Follow-Up: Knowing this error often occurs simply because the previous owner hasn't removed the vehicle from their Tesla account, on the 19th, I emailed Kay instructions detailing how to resolve it. At 1:05pm that same day, I texted her asking if she saw my email stating, "Hoping to close this deal soon." I followed up via text and she told me, "her manager and co-worker are looking to see if we're able to resolve it. I will let you know ASAP when I do" Later that night I got an email from the sales manager, Tyler, asking why I didn't buy a car from them. I replied immediately that I was still interested and wanted to know what we "needed to do to close the deal," expressing my clear intent to buy the vehicle once addressed. I received no response. I called the dealership on August 20th and was Kay was off, I left a message with Tyler to call me. He never did. Now I know it's because they already sold the car to someone else. Abrupt Notification of Sale: After ignoring my outreach, Kay texted me days later stating the vehicle had been sold "as-is" late Wednesday evening--the exact day she had claimed the dealership was actively working with Tesla on a fix for me. To feel as though I had to "chase" a sales team to purchase a vehicle, only to be fed contradictory information and ultimately brushed off, is completely unacceptable. Attempting to slip in forced add-ons and mishandling basic customer communication does a disservice to the Audi brand. Because of this experience, I will never consider purchasing a vehicle from Harper Audi Knoxville again, nor will I recommend your dealership to others. I am sharing this feedback so upper management is aware of how prospective buyers--and loyal Audi customers--are being treated by your team. read more

I started going to this dealership for service about 6 years ago. The last two years it has been in decline. They don't call back and I don't believe they fully inspect the car nor is there work very good anymore. I had brought it in to have routine maintenance done and I asked them to check the brakes because they were vibrating. They told me one of the cv joints was bad and needed repair. I asked about the other one and they said no, it's fine. After I got my car back, the brakes continued to vibrate. I brought it back and they told me the other cv joint needed repair. So one week later and it suddenly started leaking I guess. Anyway, it never fixed the vibration. I didn't think that it would. It seemed like warped rotors to me but I let them do the work because I don't want bad cv joints anyway. Fast forward a little over a year, I bring my car to a new shop and on inspection they find the CV boot leaking. 5 years ago, Harper Audi was trust worthy, service was top notch, and going there was always a pleasant experience. No loaners?? Audi makes great cars. And service has been good. But no loaners when in for service? Never an issue with BMW and Lexus, but a loaner at Harper Audi of Knoxville is not likely. And I'm not sure if they've heard of stereotypes but I do hate if you're not dressed in a suit and doesn't look like you're going to buy they don't even bother giving you any notice, hello, how you're doing or anything of the sort. Even if you're coming in with the buyer they totally ignore you. Bad salesmanship because you never know a lower or middle class person who might have just won the lottery or came up in life. Word to the wise change your attitude and your outlook on people and sales may start the boom.... with or without the economy. Overall it is a clean establishment with season sales people I assume. Came here looking for a new vehicle after my previous car was totaled by a distracted driver. Figured I would receive great service since I work for another local company that has a significant partnership with this dealer, which makes sense as both brands pride themselves on a quality product and exceptional service. Unfortunately that's not what happened. After working with Justin in sales, I thought we had a clear understanding of what I was looking for and what I needed. He repeatedly failed to follow up or look into vehicle leads for me, and consistently underdelivered on any form of customer service. His lack of service drastically increased the time it took for me to find a new car. At one point he even had the nerve to chastise me like a small child because I had contacted another dealer about a vehicle on their lot. In hindsight I should've gone somewhere else sooner than I did. This dealership has definitely lost my business, as well as the business of most people that have asked me about buying here. I've since bought a car from another dealer out of state, but I'm already dreading having to bring it back to this location for service. read more

My husband payed $6,000 for his audi to get fixed and he got it back in worse condition than it was before. They are horrible at communicating and the best they can offer you is 15% off to fix the problem that they were suppose to fix the first time around. I love Audi Knoxville! They are always prompt in their response and answer any questions I may have. When doing multipoint inspection, they will send you a video so that you are aware of what they are inspecting. They always give me a summary sheet as well and explain each category. Negotiated with Justin and gave him my best offer on a used BMW. He set up an appointment to come in and drive the specific used car we discussed. Therefore, I thought Harper had accepted my offer and I only had to like driving the car. When it came time to discuss the sale the price acceptable was $2,000 higher than my offer. So there I was, it was 5:35pm the night before having to leave on an important business trip that involved a 365 mile drive through the mountains and I notice an issue (self inflicted) with my 6 week old Audi. I jumped in the car and drove over to Audi Knoxville before they closed at 6:30pm. If I'm being honest, I was a bit desperate for a solution but since my issue was self inflicted, I wasn't overly optimistic they would be able to help me. After all...it's much easier and far more common for a business to say "no" because it's not their problem, nor did they create the problem. When I got there, Josh (new car manager) listened to my issue and immediately determined a possible solution. He then coordinated with the service department to bring the solution to life while still allowing me to leave on time for my business trip. His solution will allow me to drive my car safely through the mountains and I cannot express how grateful I am for the "above and beyond" service he provided. Had been shopping for a car for about five months. Found the car we were looking for, confirmed it was available, called the dealership told them we were on our way 40 minute drive. Salesman said he verify it was prepped and ready to drive, when we arrived with all intentions of buying the car another salesperson sold it to another customer. They need to work on their internal processes, made excuses and told me first come first served.. yada yada. Total waste of 3 hours of my time. First time at an Audi dealer they lost a customer, bought another Subaru. I'll admit they offered us another car not same color etc.. for less, but as many cars and dealers there out there and the internet... Harper, you have heard of the internet? it's hard to make up for lack of customer service after the fact. The Subaru deal took me 10 minutes. read more

For years I despised and dreaded the car buying experience. The old school high pressure sales tactics of those at Honda and Toyota disgusted me..., just thinking about it makes me cringe. But then I went to Harper Audi. I bought my first car from them 17 years ago when I walked into the showroom asked about a car outside and the salesman, Joey at the time, threw me the keys and said "take her for a spin". That easy-going attitude and relational interaction really set my mind at ease and since then I have purchased five cars from them. BUT, The real crown jewel in this company's crown is their service department. Originally they had a guy who was terrible and I won't go into that, but then they created one of the best service experiences I've ever experienced or even heard of. I never thought I would buy an Audi, wasn't even on my radar BUT Marvin Peek was the absolute best car salesman I have ever dealt with. He made us feel relaxed, like we were just chatting with a friend. I felt like he truly valued our business. We originally went in, looking to pay cash for a much older Honda Pilot they had in their used car inventory. Marvin never pushed any other car on us. The Q7 caught our eye and Marvin was glad to show it to us. Here's the good news, Marvin treated us the same when we were looking at the Honda as he did when we were looking at the Q7. His demeanor NEVER changed! He was transparent and up front through the entire process. I would highly recommend him to any friend purchasing a vehicle. After shopping, several other Harper brands, Harper Audi service is unrivaled. Sadly, our budget didn't allow us to buy the Audi, we ended up next door at Infiniti where we felt like we were buying a Kia. It's a shame that the Harper customer service isn't consistent across the board. When I buy my next car, it will be from Marvin at Audi. read more

BUYER/CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!! I have had one problem after another since I bought my car one year ago!!! They just replaced the pistons, rings, and timing chain tensioner, once I received my car back the AC display was not displaying properly. Charles from service yelled at me over the phone and I was taken back since one of his service guys broke it. Display was fixed and now my backrest seat does not heat up. (The AC control turns on the heated seat) flash forward two weeks, today I brought my car in and they said it broke and it was a coincidence that it broke while they had it. Over $800 to fix, which I don't feel I'm responsible for since it worked fine when I brought it in. I spoke to Oscar and he is always friendly and accommodating. I spoke to Gary Bowers the general manager who was very disrespectful. I told him I didn't like the way he was speaking to me and he didn't care, he just wanted me out of his office. He was also upset that they fixed the display which they broke. He was very chauvinistic and aggressive with his tone. I doubt he would speak to a man that way. I asked to speak to Tom Harper twice and he told me NO! I will never bring my car back to them for services and/ or purchase another car from them. They are only friendly when they are taking your money. Oscar should be promoted to general manager since he has patience and respect towards customers! read more

Extremely pleased with recent 15,000 mile maintenance on my S3. Ray Goepfrich was flexible allowing me to drop car off earlier than appointment time and still providing a very nice A4 loaner. Later after driving home he called me to alert me that they had noticed oil in the bay where my car was washed. He was just being extra cautious. As there was some oil noted in my garage floor my wife took it in first thing next morning and they got her in immediately, determined it was just some overflow onto the engine during change, gave it a quick washing and sent her on her way.
