I have used this location to rent a car several times now and I am always impressed by the friendliness of the staff and how hard they work to make sure each customer is taken care of quickly. They even coordinated with a body shop I was using and I was able to get a discount on the rental and leave the car at the body shop when I picked up my own car. If I could 0 star I would worst experience ever first they give me a van that super dirty. Next took back streets home then next morning the car dies on my On my way to work then weeks later send me a toll way bill from the day I pick it up saying I took a toll when that's 30min north from where I live plus I left there location at 5:21pm took me an hour to get home they said the toll was at 5:48 to even get to where they said I went through the toll it takes 32min so how does that make sense very terrible company and don't even try to help look up the info and the invoice number they gave me is wrong not even a number for the tollway.. stay away use a different company. Let me update I have contacted enterprise 4 times and every time I have asked proof or the right invoice number and they all came up with excuses and none will even try to help me. read more

We arrived at 5:46p with 14 minutes to spare before closing. My mom was rear ended the day prior and the car insurance sent all of her information over to this location. I dislike assuming you'll receive better service depending on the city that you're in but unfortunately that's typically the case. The Good The location was clean and the service was rather quick (could also be a bad sign keep reading to find out why). The Bad Came into Enterprise this evening with my mom and worked with Sean. I suppose my first issue with this service was we were not asked what size car we wanted but I understood the reason of which he'd just decided to give a car commensurable to her car. This vehicle had several scratches on it below the surface of the paint and the side of the front bumper was not in tact correctly which Sean noted. We were quickly dissatisfied with this car and begin to ask about a different car. Sean first stated this was the only car clean however the car wasn't clean or maybe we just have a different understanding of clean. The Ugly There were three other vehicles available however he then informed us that they would all be upgrades though two of them appeared to be the same size just dirty. He did say that he had already given us an upgrade on the vehicle that he wanted to give us, if that's considered an upgrade. In the past my experience with Enterprise had been a lot better. We decided to visit a different location. I suppose my personal standards for good customer service were too much for Sean to deliver prior to closing time. When I asked if he was the manager he informed me he was. I don't believe he's Manager worthy at least not customer service wise. read more

Had to make a car switch for holiday week...had a large group of people in for thanksgiving and needed an additional car that fit everyone!!!! We rented from the one in Elgin and ended up having to switch because they didn't have one big enough...the Aurora office did it lickety split and gave us what we wanted....fast and easy!!!! Also Had to drop off on a Sunday ( they were closed)..how ever the parking lot was very well lit and the key drop box was easy to find..called on Monday morning to confirm all was good...spoke to Brianna....she was very friendly and said all was good!!! From the Lake Street, Aurora IL location, we rented a "luxury SUV" (e.g. Ford Expedition XL) for a two week family road trip in early August 2018. We made the reservation well over a month in advance. There was nothing luxurious about the car maintenance. The SUV was dirty when we picked it up - sand and dirt on the floor, two pairs of old shoes under the seats, and crayon marks in the back. Additionally, the windows were filthy, and the gas tank was half empty. At the time of pick-up when we inquired about why the SUV wasn't cleaned, the attendant said that "They have no control over what cars are sent/arrive here." That flippant response denied responsibility and failed to offer any assistance in making the vehicle "road ready." We had made the reservation through Costco, yet that should have no bearing on the cleanliness and standards of the rental vehicle. The night before we left on a lengthy cross country road trip, we had to get gas, vacuum and clean the interior, and wash the exterior. All this for a rental SUV that cost two thousand dollars (for 17 days)! We have rented cars from other companies, and the vehicles have always been thoroughly cleaned with a full tank of a gas. In sum, we were very disappointed, and none of us (five adults) will rent any vehicles from Enterprise in the future. read more

Horrible! Took my information over the phone and we set up the date and time for me to pickup. When I got there to pick it up, they said they tried (not true) to get ahold of me to let me know they in fact did not have a car for me. I had no phone call, text or voicemail or anything else telling me they do not have a car available. So, after making the appointment to drop my car off and arrangements to get a ride, I actually had to go back and get my car and reschedule for another day. OK, things happen. It is what it is. So I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and make another appointment a week ahead of time. So now I make all the arrangements for rides there and back. Making advanced rental reservations for a particular size vehicle doesn't mean shit here! Looking to rent a full size car? Nope! Enterprise will convince you're better off with a Go-Cart, Swamp Buggy or a Moped; or possibly the Covered Wagon stashed in the back lot. Great service friendly people. A mistake was made on my reservation and one of the branch managers Jamie took care of me. Upgraded me to an Large SUV from a compact!!! I wasn't happy when I called to let them know what was messed up but after talking to Jamie he apologized and said pick what ever car you like from the lot. I said Suburban smiled and he said its yours!! My kids and wife are going to enjoy the extra space for a few days. I really enjoyed my experience with Enterprise. They really helped me when I was desperate way as my car needed repairs they were able to get me car ASAP and when I needed to extend my agreement they were able to do it with no problems. I travel a lot. California and Arizona last week. The standard deal is you need a credit card, but you can still rent a car with a debit card with an out-of-state license as long as you show a forwarding plane ticket leaving out-of-state and a $300 deposit. Fine. No problem. LA & Palm Spring did it. Phoenix did it, but wait.... NOT AURORA. I had big plans and they were diverted because the manager (Jared?) says they won't do that. Even with the deposit and proof of the plane ticket. I've spent a buttload with Enterprise the last month and now these guys have to be difficult. Great. I'll take my business elsewhere. Be careful with these guys, check your rental car 100% before you drive off because they will make you pay for damages that are already on their cars from previous renters. They made me pay for a cracked windshield, in which the windshield already had a crack when I received it and I also told the employee about it and somehow I get stuck having to pay for the repairs when the car was handed to me this way. I recommend not to rent a car from here as it tends not to end well with most people. read more

Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere besides here. There is a Hertz directly across the street. Let me tell you what happened to me. I'm a single mom. I work full time and I go to school. My car died so I didn't have a lot of time to plan for a rental. As you can imagine, this was a stressful situation for me. I made a reservation online because no one would answer the phone at the store. I show up wait for 25 minutes while this guy is cleaning another car. When he finally is available to help me, he proceeds to answer the phone instead. So 30 minutes later he gets to me. There is no car available for me. His reason? My reservation said I'd be there at noon and it's now 4pm. Seriously? I can't get anyone on the telephone anyway! He told me he took all the cars for oil changes. I gave one star because that's about the best excuse you are going to get out of the idiot I was dealing with. So I was stuck. I had to scramble to find another car at the last minute as all the other car rental places were closing. Don't bother with this place. Too many other options. Update: after posting this review, I was harassed and bullied by a family member/friend of the person I complained about. What a pathetic excuse for a business. Be more careful who you hire. read more

So hard to get a car from this company if you have an out of state DRIVERS LICENSE. if you don't have a major credit card they won't give you a car. AVIS CAR RENTAL will give you a car with ANY debit card even if you're from out of state. read more

Location would not honor giving me a ride saying they don't go more than 5 miles. No alternatives were given including the option to return to a different location. They ignored me after that. When I rented the car, Jared, the manager was told where my body shop was and he said it was no problem. He told me there was no way we could give you a lift. He ignored me until my Uber arrived. Enterprise, after paying $592 to rent a car, plus $19 for the ride. I will make sure everyone in town knows this. Never going back again. read more

I will not be renting a car from here EVER! I couldn't use my debit card as a Credit--Why!? I can use it as a credit card anywhere else. So the guy started to tell me I could use a debit as long as they could take more money and hold it. I asked him to repeat it and then he said no, they wouldn't do it! They wanted to see a current utility bill, not something I carry with me-then he said I could pull up my cell phone bill on their computer and they wanted to send a copy to corporate! Uh-No! Way to hard to rent a car from there. I called Budget while I was there and as long as my credit is good--I was able to rent a car with my debit without having them set aside extra money. I made a reservation for a rental a week before I was scheduled to come in. The girl who made the appointment for me asked me approximately what time I would be in and I said 11am. Due to not having a car, I was not able to come in until 1:00pm. When I got there, they said the car was given a way and too bad, I should have made it in on time. I spoke to Jared the manager and asked why a reservation would be given away without a notice?? No call, no email, just a too bad, you were not here on time? Also, I was trying to explain that girl who took my conversation asked me for an APPROXIMATE time and never once did she say that this was an appointment time and if I missed it, the car would be liable to be given away. Jared said okay, he would follow up and asked for my contact information. I never got a call nor an email nor any follow up. Some management practices you got here.
