Enterprise provided the worst customer service I've ever experienced. On July 17, I called the Enterprise location in Bloomsburg, PA, around 10:40 a.m. and spoke with a male employee. He confirmed that a 7-passenger Tahoe or similar SUV would be available for pickup at 9:00 a.m. on July 18, with a return at 9:00 a.m. on July 20, for $241. I gave him both my phone number and my mother's phone number. I immediately received a confirmation email, so I assumed everything was set. Around 3:30 p.m., I decided to stop by the office just to make sure all of our luggage would fit in the Tahoe. When I arrived, I was told there was no large SUV or van available for July 18. The employee claimed they had tried to call us, but both of our numbers were "out of service." That was simply not true. My phone received eight other calls between 11:14 a.m. and 3:19 p.m., but not a single call from Enterprise. My mother didn't receive any calls either. Trying to save our family trip, my uncle called the Enterprise location in Shamokin and was able to reserve a similar SUV. This reservation required pickup on July 17 before their 6:00 p.m. closing time, and the price was higher--$301. After receiving the confirmation email, he rushed home from work, and we immediately left for Shamokin, a 45-minute drive from Bloomsburg. Our ETA was 5:52 p.m. Around 5:35 p.m., my uncle called the Shamokin office to let them know we were on our way. That's when the employee informed him that they also did not have a large SUV available. So despite receiving two confirmation emails from two different Enterprise locations, we ended up with no vehicle at all for our July 18 trip. The explanation we kept receiving was that a third party handles the reservations and that the local offices have nothing to do with them. That raises an obvious question: Why is Enterprise allowing customers to reserve vehicles that don't actually exist? If a third party is making reservations, shouldn't Enterprise ensure those reservations are accurate before confirming them? Had I not stopped by the Bloomsburg office that afternoon, we would have shown up at 9:00 the next morning expecting a vehicle that was never available. We would have discovered the problem only minutes before our trip. What would Enterprise have done then? Would anyone have taken responsibility? Would they have found us another vehicle? Or would we have simply been told, once again, that there was nothing they could do? This entire experience was frustrating, stressful, and completely avoidable. A reservation confirmation should actually mean that a vehicle has been reserved. Customers should not have to discover on their own that their confirmed reservation doesn't exist. read more

I explained the billing error and he was able to adjust it on his end. I upgraded my review rating to reflect this. My advice to future customers: When being upgraded, triple check what the actual final price aligns with what you were quoted when making the reservation, + any additional upgrade costs. I *think* I know what happened: The branch rep probably had to re-do the reservation. And in doing so, re-set everything to what the rate would have been without an upgrade. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I made a reservation, showed up on time, and they simply didn't have a car available. No solution, no accountability. Just "we don't have it." Trying to salvage my business trip, I made a second reservation at a different location. Same result. No car available again. What's the point of a reservation if the company doesn't honor it? Because of this, I missed important business meetings and wasted time and money taking Ubers between locations. This wasn't just inconvenient--it had real professional consequences. This is a complete failure of service and reliability. I come to Austin from California usually for work from Marriott and tesla . I always love coming to Austin airport to enterprise because majority of everyone is friendly or puts me in a nice vehicle or close to my preference that I had chose. And I was greeting by the maneger (Jadon)who brought me to the car and he had upgraded me and our conversation was cool. I met one of the associates Ellie who broke down the compact jeep I was in because there was a lot going on . Kailey was nice as well and I learned her sister attends school and California so I had to tell her all the go to places and I felt like I had a friend more than associate . Unfortunately, they are not honest at all about tolls. Was informed upon pickup that tolls max out at $25, and I am still getting bills for tolls weeks later - currently over $45. Your only option is to reach out to Toll Pass and request a refund. Not impressed with their business practices and will rent from others in the future. read more

I rented from Enterprise while traveling for work for 17 days, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Within the first 5 days, I had to return two separate vehicles due to check engine lights. Each time, I had to drive over 30 minutes back to the airport location just to swap out cars--costing me valuable time and adding unnecessary stress to my work trip. By the time I got the third vehicle, I was beyond frustrated and no longer cared what I was given--as long as it didn't come with another warning light. They did offer a courtesy upgrade to a midsize SUV, which I appreciated, but the damage had already been done. The final straw? Upon returning the car, the attendant told me I was "short" on gas, even though the needle was sitting at FULL. They reassured me it was minor--just 2 gallons--and they would waive it. Minutes later, as I was boarding my flight, I received the receipt showing I was charged $8.78 for fuel. After being told it was waived. That might seem like a small amount, but after the aggravation of multiple vehicle issues, back-and-forth commutes, and the sheer lack of reliability--I'm done. rented a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 11150 Research Blvd, Austin, TX, in early June 2025 and had one of the worst car rental experiences I've encountered. I was scheduled to pick up the car at 9:30 AM. I arrived at the Enterprise counter at 9:25 AM, where the staff member told me the car would be ready in five minutes. He then left the counter and went into a back room, returning about ten minutes later. When I asked about the car, he became visibly annoyed and curtly said, "Wait for a few minutes." Those "few minutes" stretched into 5, then 10, then 20 minutes. We finally received the car at 10:00 AM, causing us to be nearly 30 minutes late to a meeting. On top of the delay, the person at the counter was grumpy and extremely arrogant. Based on this experience, we do not plan to rent a car from this location again. read more

I usually have a decent experience at enterprise when I travel. However, this location did not meet the bar for service. The agent who took me to Mt car was not friendly at all and didn't explain anything to me about the car or check it. I realized after driving to my hotel that he gave me an electric car. I did not request an electric car as I don't know anything about them. Not only did he give me a fully electric car with no warning, but the battery was only at 28%. I tried calling back into the office multiple times. However, no one answered the phone. I then left feedback with the corporate customer service team they said they would send them the feedback, and someone would reach out to me. No one ever reached out to me. Overall I had a mediocre experience from Enterprise. First, I got stuck with a Ford Escape which is one of the worst cars I've ever had the misfortune to drive. It's extremely uncomfortable and drives like garbage. The piss poor handling made me feel like I was on a boat. The seats were cheap and hurt my back. Out of all the mid size SUV's out there, they chose to rent out the worst one because they're cheap. Second, while I picked up my car in Austin, I returned it in Galveston. The website and person I spoke to on the phone both said they had a shuttle to the cruise docks. Upon returning the car, I was informed that they in fact do not have a shuttle, so I had to drop more money on an uber. read more

From the counter to pick up everything was smooth and easy. I know enterprise isn't the cheapest when it comes to rentals, but they are the ones I trust, with that said, there were no long lines at the counter or pick up. Drop off was a little different but also smooth. My only complaint, as someone who is not from Austin or familiar with the area, was getting to the counter and pick up location, a bit confusing. There were signs but I felt like I walked for a while, across the parking lot, up the parking lot, through the parking lot. Finally, when we go to Allen, he helped us pick our vehicle, they had a few options but we ended up with 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Drive was nice and it was clean, no problems. read more

I don't typically make reviews for services, but I can't help but mention the hospitality and customer service I experienced! Checking in for the rental, I asked whether I'd have to pay for a late fee if I were to return the car for a few hours late. Jordan let me know to note that he verbally told me I could without being penalized for it since it was through my work and his iPad was acting wonky (I still had to pay the fee.. sorry Jordan! But I really appreciated the effort!) Then it doesn't stop there! I met Catherine(?) when I was exiting the garage and she noticed I'm from the city that she lived in for 7 years and we had a brief conversation. The brief conversation consisted with her writing me down Austin recs! (I tried 2/3 of the recommendations she suggested for us to check out :)) When I was returning the car, another employee and I had a conversation about the Stetson hats I got. I just enjoy the simple conversation! It's super engaging and shows the type of employees they hire :) I was struggling a bit holding the box and my checked luggage and another worker grabbed me a spare cart to wheel my luggages with ease! I had a great experience with Enterprise. Not only was I able to cash out two free days with my reward points, but I was also able to check in on my phone, so I only spent about a minute being verified at the podium before I was allowed to get a car. Initially I booked a mid-sized Corolla, but they were out of stock. I was allowed to get an upgrade to a Mini Cooper or Charger but they both seemed old, so I went with the Mini Cooper from 2019 (4 years old). Although it was nice, it had no Apple CarPlay and so navigating in a new city was difficult without a place to put my phone. There was also a rattle in the back which only the last day I finally found how to fix. All in all it was a pleasant experience but I would've liked to have a newer car. The check in (Sat 10am) and check out (Tuesday 2pm) process was super quick and I'm very happy for that. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise since I was 25. My bro was a Manager of one of the NorCal branches and you would be a fool to not take advantage of the friends and family discount back then, so they were always my numbero uno. It wasn't until my bro began working elsewhere that I attempted to use another car rental company. You can def tell the difference when you rent from Budget, Alamo, etc. The cars are grimy and the staff DGAF. I eventually learned my lesson and just paid the extra for a clean, safe car and for professionalism. To me, Enterprise is the gold standard. That was the case until I rented from the Austin Airport branch. I was given a choice between a Camry or an Altima. I'm used to driving Camrys, and I know their trunks would accommodate our luggage, so we opted for that. The outside of the car was dirty, even after being run through their car wash. The inside was dusty AF and had crumbs everywhere. That was red flag #1. As soon as we got on the freeway, I heard a lot of road noise, like scary- this is not normal to be hearing from a Camry type of noises. Then our tire sensor light on the dashboard appeared. Mind you, I rented this car for a week, SEVEN DAYS... traveling through Texas and Louisiana, with my kids. After stopping to check the tires and add some air, it appeared as though the car was taken off road, which would explain why the outside was so grimy. At that point, I called the branch and let them know that I wanted to swap the car out because it wasn't safe. Our hotel was in Round Rock, about 30 min away. I figured I'd call any and all of the surrounding Enterprise branches to ask if I could swap the car out there. Two branches told me they didn't have any inventory and my best bet would be to go back to the Austin branch. Our flight from Vegas to Austin was a 530am flight, so we were up since 2am. We were finally at our hotel, but had to turn around to swap out the car before rush hour hit. It took almost 2 hours of our lives to get back to the airport, wait to be assisted by the manager- who would not confirm or deny she was the manager, choose a car and drive back to the hotel in traffic. We had slim pickins on the cars to choose from. I would have been fine with another Camry, but I was more concerned with being in a safe car, and one that would hold all of our luggage. The upgrade was free, which should be a given. We were also comped gas. Does it make up for the shitty experience? Not really. I always trusted that Enterprise would provide me with a thoroughly cleaned, SAFE car. I guess it is a lesson learned... if ever you have the faintest feeling that your car rental isn't right, just bring it back right away. UPDATE: Enterprise responded and I emailed the email address they left in their comment. I provided all info via screenshots and the woman who responded to the email requested the same info! This was the absolute worst experience I've had with a rental car company. I made reservations for a sedan well over 2 months ago in anticipation for my trip to Austin. Had reservation booked and was ready to pick up the car at 11:00 pm right when my flight landed. We ended up standing in line for about an hour in front of this indoor kiosk where they had 4 employees standing behind the counter doing nothing while the line outside grew and grew. We eventually got all checked in, paid for the reservation, then are asked to stand to the side. We watch 2 whole giant families that were behind us in line, walk past us and get into their mini vans they rented. All the while we're standing there twiddling our thumbs waiting for this car to get there, that we reserved. 20 minutes later after standing around we're told there are no more cars and that they are issuing a refund unless we want to Uber back to the airport in the morning to get the car. Unbelievable!! Because we didn't get the rental car we reserved 2 months in advance, we ended up taking a taxi to the hotel in dripping springs which cost us $100+. For the duration of the trip I ended up having to reserve multiple private car services totaling upwards of $400+ dollars, since Uber/Lyft doesn't really come out to the side of town the hotel is in. This place should be ashamed of themselves. What is the point of a reservation if you're not going to honor it? I'm really confused, if you're just going to give the car away to whoever wants it, what was the point of the reservation? 10/10 do not recommend Enterprise at the Austin airport, bunch of crooks, scamming for your money. read more

All of the car rental businesses are in one terminal outside the airport. Enterprise had the best deal for my recent trip to Austin. However since this is an airport location insurance is higher than out in the city. I guess it's the price you pay for convenience. Service was great and everyone was really friendly here. read more

The Customer Service at Enterprise Car Rental needs to be upfront with customers about providing transportation to pick up car rental. Why advertise they provide transportation if there are stipulations - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I had an appointment with Gerber collision for repair at 9 AM and I was told by enterprise car rental customer service representative's on the phone that they would be able to provide me transportation if it was within 7 miles radius at 9:30 AM. I called the enterprise for pick up from Gerber Collision outside, and told by another customer representative that the location at 8310 Research Blvd., Austin, TX (4-5 miles) do not provide transportation to Gerber collision at 1950 Rutland Dr., Austin, TX and will need to use Uber/Lyft or find a ride in other ways to the location where they reserved my vehicle. I was irate that why would they tell customers they will provide transportation that is less than 7 miles when they really don't. Luckily there was a driver that was heading back to that location I needed to attend to pick up my car rental, he saw I had my knee brace on and offered me a ride. Thry should've been more accommodating, especially since I am disabled. There was no line when I arrived (mid-morning on a Friday), but it did take a little while to walk from my gate to the check-in desk. (Austin's airport is a bit sprawling.) When it was time to return my vehicle, I filled up at a gas station Em route to the rental drop off, pulled up in line, and was on my way in less than 5 minutes. I'm used to much better service from Enterprise than I received at the Austin airport. There was only one person working the desk with 6-8 people in line. They finally brought in another person after we had been in line for about 20 minutes (we were second in line). The guy had both of our driver's licenses and our reservation and was still asking us to recite our addresses and phone numbers and other stuff like that. We finally got our car and then there was a huge slow line just to drive out of the garage! There were two booths open and both had long lines. Usually they just check your contract and wave you on but the woman was checking things on her computer, scratching stuff off some list, etc. We told her we were in a big hurry because my children were waiting at baggage claim and had been waiting 30-40 minutes by this time. The workers at the counter and at the booth were friendly (the only reason I didn't give one star) but the whole thing was just inexplicably and frustratingly slow. I have no idea how long the other people behind us had to wait but I expect an hour or more at the pace they were going. This Enterprise really needs to look at their processes and staffing and improve their service. read more
