I had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this Enterprise location that ultimately caused me to cancel my reservation. I booked a rental online a week in advance with a 6:00 PM pickup time. On February 4 at 10:07 AM, I received a call from the location confirming my pickup. No additional requirements or concerns were mentioned. On the day of pickup, Ben called me at 5:35 PM and told me I needed to arrive earlier because the location closes at 6:00 PM, despite the system allowing customers to book 6:00 PM pickups. I explained that I was in class until 5:50 PM and that the location is a short walk away. I arrived on time and was then told by Ben that I needed two utility bills (cable, internet, or utilities) showing my address. This requirement was never mentioned during booking or during the confirmation call. We were standing in a parking garage, and I was expected to immediately produce documents I had never been told to bring. While I attempted to access my account online, Ben repeatedly rushed me and asked whether I would have it "in the next five minutes." When I pointed out that no one had informed me of this requirement earlier, Ben stated--in a dismissive and mocking tone--that they had called and left a voicemail. This was inaccurate. I answered the call and spoke with someone directly. There was no voicemail. There were two other employees present during this interaction who remained silent while this took place. While I was there, I overheard them joking that they were only cleaning and vacuuming because "Michael" was coming the next day, which they discussed openly. That comment did not inspire confidence in how the location is normally run. Ben then told me they were closing and that I would need to return in the morning. I explained that I needed to be in Long Island by 10:00 AM. He said the location opens at 8:30 AM and that he would schedule me for then. After leaving, I received a confirmation for 7:30 AM, which directly contradicted what I had just been told. An employee referenced Michael in a way that indicated he is in charge. I would genuinely appreciate a call from him, as this experience reflects serious breakdowns in communication, customer service, and overall operations that should be addressed with real customer feedback. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding and cancelled the reservation entirely. I will be taking my business to AVIS down the block next time. As long as Ben is working at this location, I would not recommend renting here unless you are comfortable being spoken to dismissively and dealing with last-minute, undisclosed requirements. read more

Might be the worst customer service experience I have ever received. Upon arriving I was grilled with an unfriendly presence only to find out my reservation was cancelled due to not having cars available. I understand overbooking limits as I work in hotels but this means there should be support to find another rental, this was the furthest thing from the case. More like a "good luck with that" attitude. As I'm on the side, another gentleman who had waited for well over 10 minutes was greeted by the same "manager" that informed him they only hold vehicles for 30 mins. Enterprise directed me to their support page (https://www.enterprise.ca/en/help/contact.html) to resolve this issue. When I followed up, I was rerouted to risk management. I have been calling for weeks, yet not a single person has responded. This level of disregard is appalling. It's clear to me that Enterprise does not respect its customers because they are a billion-dollar corporation and believe they can get away with this kind of treatment. As a result, I couldn't secure a vehicle elsewhere because most places were either fully booked or outrageously expensive due to the holiday. This trip was a family reunion--the first time everyone was going to meet. We had family flying in from all over, and I had to make the heartbreaking call to let them know we couldn't make it. Instead of celebrating with my loved ones, I'm stuck in NYC on Thanksgiving with kids who are upset, a house in shambles, and no resolution in sight. This was an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience. Enterprise's lack of communication, poor handling of reservations, and vague reasoning for denying me the rental have ensured I will never use their services again. I just received a response from cust service about my review but she just sent me straight to the same chat that no one replied to before. I am happy to speak with customer service if they give me a direct way to reach them. Here's my review: My resevation was for 9 am on a Sunday. Arrived at 8:30 and someone was waiting and told me he had waited 1.5 hours the day before and they had no cars. Doors opened at 9 and at 9:15 Morgan, the 'manager" ran in and announced no cars until 11:00. The guy in front of me got his car and then Morgan told me no cars. I asked about the cars that they were cleaning and she said no cars till 11 and she couldn't do anything. (I hadn't even given her my name yet!). I called another car company who had a car and went out to speak w/my friend. When I came back in Morgan told me she had cancelled my reservation since I found another car. I still had not given her my name and DID NOT cancel anything. Meanwhile there was a car ready and she told me I no longer had a reservation!!! When I went to the cust service chat the next day, I was told I can only put in a certain amount of words (which I did) and no one got back to me. ENTERPRISE USED TO BE A GOOD COMPANY. This is my first review of a rental car agency, but the service here deserves 5 stars! I am a recent transplant to Brooklyn and the East Coast in general and I find service lacking in general - everywhere. For that reason, when someone goes above and beyond I really take notice. Not only did one staff member impress me, but each person that helped me was quick, efficient and more than friendly. I was remembered by name when I returned the car and they even walked around the counter to speak with me and wish me a good rest of the day. Rental was expensive and the car was super dirty. Seats had multiple stains and most of the interior felt sticky to the touch. Car had multiple dents over the entire body and accident damage. When we pointed out the condition of the car upon pick up we were told to take it or leave it which really wasn't an option for us at the time. Pictures included to show the condition of the car as received. We contacted Enterprise management after the rental was finished to let them know about our experience and was offered if I recall 1 free day of rental towards our next booking but honestly a simple train ride to the airport gave us a full sized nice and clean SUV for 7 days for what it cost us to rent this crappy car from them for 4 which pretty much negated any offer they had to correct the situation. Take a train ride to the airport and get a better car for less OR avoid renting from here as if you get a bad car they won't rectify it during pick up nor will they do much for you after the fact. read more

Needed a car for one day and this was only location available for drop off on Sunday. I reserved it online so when I picked up car service was fast. The entrance for location was closed so you stand outside garage door they open it up. I was looking for doorway but garage door is entrance. Service was fast and friendly which I like no muss no fuss. Everything is explained before signing for car. I don't know if you can reserve certain cars because I got a Dodge SUV. DON'T BOTHER. Go straight to the airport. Having decided at the last minute to head out of town, I booked a car on a Saturday morning - around 10am - for a 1pm pickup, the latest it would allow me to book. Confirmation received, I headed out to Brooklyn. I live in Manhattan but chose the Brooklyn location because they were open Sunday mornings - all the rest open at 3pm Sunday, forcing you to pay for 2 days (wtf??) Well, when I showed up at 1, the garage was closed. I banged and the manager came out, informing me that they'd been sold out since noon. I was still home at noon. Would have been nice to receive a phone call. He told me to go to the airports - as if that's an easy trip. He did offer me an insulting 10% off... to be used at that location. I called the main enterprise number to reserve a car from LaGuardia, to ensure that after the 1.5 hour train/bus combo to get there, there would be a car for me. Confirmed on the phone, but strangely no email.. and sure enough when I got there, there were no cars for "walk ups" (despite having reserved). Somehow I was able to book a car through my phone app standing right in front of them, and they released a car to me. A very trying day that had me leaving 3 hours later than I had wanted to.. at that point a very different trip and basically a waste of a $50 gift card. That said, the crew at the LaGuardia station were lovely. I just don't understand why the city locations close at 1pm Saturday, and open 3pm Sunday. read more

Maybe it speaks to my past ordeals renting cars, but I have been pleasantly surprised by my two experiences renting from the Downtown Brooklyn Enterprise. The staff is friendly, patient, doesn't try to give a hard sell on upgrades or add-ons, and they hustle. Too many times have I been anxious to hit the road or catch a plane and had the staff at rental counters dilly dallying their way through the process. Not these guys. Sad that attentive, good service is such a shock, but it really did impress me. Price-wise their rates are comparable to most city car rentals, which is still cheaper than ZipCar for an overnight rental though not as cheap as hiking out to Newark Airport for a car. It's a busy location though, so be sure to make a reservation in advance. On my most recent visit I was upgraded to an SUV when I'd reserved a compact because they were short on available cars. But the rate remained the same as for a compact and they didn't make me bring it back with a full tank so I wasn't hosed on gas mileage for the bigger vehicle. The lady was very friendly to me and my son. However, I'm very disappointed in the company. I had made a reservation for a one way trip to Buffalo and Oct 31st was the day I came there to get the van. I planned to relocated and that was the last day for me at my residence. The lady told me that debit cards were not accepted for one way trips. I almost had a panic attack as my plans were shattered right there. Enterprise should have told me this ahead of time ahead of time as I was under the impression I could use my debit card which they state on their website. The company as a whole need to send an advanced notification to those who make one way trips that debit cards are not accepted. I was very blessed to find a quality guy with a van to drive me and my family and our possessions to our new home in Buffalo. read more

Customer service is terrible. I had a situation in which my brand new Mercedes was totaled, Geico opened up a claim for me to have a rental for 2 weeks. My car ended up being out of service for longer than the initial 2-week estimate. Geico said they will refund me for whatever I pay out of pocket. I have been paying for about a month (completely fine). Monday it was an issue with my card and the daily rate payment was declined. Instead of calling me, emailing me, text me, or reach out to the insurance rep. They assume I do not have any money on my card and began treating me ASKING ME PERSONAL QUESTIONS LIKE "HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR CARD BEFORE WE SEND PAYMENT" as if I was stealing this 15,000 estimates valued car while my brand e63 2020 is in the shop for repairs. When I spoke to both Molly C Carroll and assistant branch manager Keith Leblanc was extremely rude while I tried to explain myself. I told them that mistakes happen they can process the charge now. The assistant branch manager after hanging up on me twice decides to tell me I have to now put down a second security deposit. I googled the company policy (which this isn't anywhere in the policy) and I explained to Keith the hardship of 1) Paying out of pocket for about a month for a rental, 2) the back n forth between my insurance and the policyholder's insurance while they try to get my car fixed at a reasonable time. Keith didn't care about any of that, his ego blinded him from the number #1 job in any retail service. CUSTOMER SERVICE! As an "assistant branch manager," your job is to lead your staff in a positive way so that they will follow and give your customers the best service possible. Reading all of these wonderful reviews I'm noticing very few with people of my color, which tells me all I need to know. About an hour after this exchange I noticed I was charged 672.78 when I was only supposed to be charged 84 dollars. I call back again and they have the same attitude with me as if I'm the one that made a mistake. my bank was threeway with myself and the "assistant branch manager" in which he refused to authorize a refund instead he insisted I wait the normal business days to get a refund. My checking account for this card I had on file is now in the negative because of Keith mistake. The 672.78 I was charged was money, i already paid and they made a mistake of processing the wrong charge. I will never recommend anyone to this branch. I've rented from this ERAC location twice in the past month, and it has actually been quite pleasant each time. The staff has been very friendly and focused on getting me in and out with the utmost courtesy and speed. And there's usually some friendly banter as well, so it's not like they are robots shoveling people into cars. The one bad review here? Read it carefully - I'm pretty sure following the guidelines, like having a valid license and credit card isn't cause for a bad review. The nerve of some people. Like the staff are supposed to break the rules (and maybe law) because you are soooo important. People who do their jobs well everyday do not have to go above and beyond to earn our gratitude and appreciation. And I for one am definitely a repeat customer for this ERAC location. We don't own a car. We use ZipCar, Car2Go, and Enterprise (Downtown.) They each have their advantages for different trips. Booking in advance online gets you the best rate but they also have cars at the last minute. The staff is friendly and helpful and they get me in and out as quickly as they can. The car I rented once got bumped while parked. The damage as covered by my credit card insurance and Enterprise worked out all the details as much as possible. I would (and definitely will) rent from them again. read more
