So on Saturday, we decided to rent a car for our weekend trip. We only needed it for one day, and Enterprise was the closest rental place to our hotel. Granted, there weren't a ton of choices available, but when we got to the lot, there were actually plenty of cars sitting there. Instead, they gave me a Mitsubishi that honestly felt like a clown car. You practically had to get out and push the car just to get any type of acceleration. The air conditioning barely worked, and with temperatures over 100 degrees outside, that made the drive miserable. I rent cars pretty often from places like Enterprise, so I was honestly surprised they would even keep a car like this in their fleet. Here's the kicker... it cost me almost $200 for a one-day rental. Sorry, but this vehicle seriously needs to be removed from the fleet. For the price being charged, customers should at least get something safe, comfortable, and able to handle the heat. read more

Tyler, the manager, is unprofessional and the staff entirely unethical. I rented a car and had to turn it in at short notice to receive medical attention. Their company, predominantly Jacob Yanes harassed me claiming I left a cigarette burn on the upholstery among other things. I don't smoke cigarettes, and it couldn't have been me. Eventually, they assumed liability and dismissed the claim. Yet, after assuming liability the began to harass me again. Fraud from a major corporation is the only justification. Attempting to pin damages on a customer to avoid responsibility is unethical. An employee driver or another renter could have created the damage. There is no evidence that shows I created the damage, because I did not. Avoid the Cottonwood location and Sedona location as Tyler is the manager at both. read more

I had a one way rental for a compact car to Phoenix and she just started rambling on about how they only had 15 passenger vans available and I would have to take it. I rented a car for three days on friday . . When we called for a pickup we had to wait about 40 minutes for a pickup. The excuse was the other worker was out to lunch. When I went to pay we almost overcharged me 100 because of the drop off . I was able to return the car after one day but because they were closed at twelve. There used to be a few more choices for rental cars in Cottonwood, but eventually all that was left is this fantastic Enterprise office. We so appreciate their always kind and efficient service, as well as their great rental options. We drive vintage cars, so on long road trips we usually opt to rent a new car (with cruise control! And AC! And a boomin' stereo system!) and we always rent with this Enterprise Office. They are always very professional, courteous and we're always pleased with the car we get and the price. Note: the office is always super slammed,all day long, so I'd recommend reservations You also can never be certain of the make or model you'll get. They do occasionally have hybrids available, and we were once told they hope to have them available more regularly as their numbers in the fleet increase. Big thumbs up to this office. Worst experience of my life. You know the classic "Seinfeld" rental car episode? I actually lived it in Cottonwood, Arizona. Had a written confirmation on.my phone...but they didn't have a car for me. Left me totally stranded in this tiny town bur then managed to extort 100 dollars in CASH UPFRONT, to take me to Sedona ( a 20 minute drive) to get another supposedly RESERVED car there...and we know what " reservation" means in the rental game...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Employees in Cottonwood didn't give a crap. It's like they're used to stranding customers ALL THE TIME and don't give a DAMN! Horrible customer service, but I guess it's my fault cuz quilting time was and hour and a half away. They just couldn't stop looking at their watches. I guess they were lucky they had a place to go home to...I on the other hand wad completely stranded and those a-holes could care less. Would leave zero stars if i could. After having our rental car broken into and being robbed we had a horrible experience dealing with Brett ("Manager" in training) at the Cottonwood location. After a traumatic day he refused to let us leave the office even though any information he needed could have been given to him the next day, he also kept walking away from us to talk to coworkers and go rent more cars even though there were other people in the office who could have assisted them. At one point my spouse was having a panic attack so severe he was throwing up outside the front door. Brett walked right past him, didn't even ask if he was okay. We finally just left, not that anyone even noticed. Worst customer service i have ever experienced in my life. We reached out to the board members as well as the care email. The care email wrote back with a generic response saying the regional manager would be in touch, but more than three weeks since the incident we have still not heard back. read more

They said they refunded my security deposit, & a week later it still has not showed up!! The local manager said he processed it, & that it must have been a mess up on my banks end, or they (the bank) didn't process it or they (the bank) deleted it!!! I had 4 different people employed by my bank look at my bank account & they can not find the deposit anywhere!! It never went thru. Banks do not delete, or pick & choose which deposits to let thru & they do not take anyones deposits & do what they want, like the manager at the local enterprise office said banks do...... I have been called a liar, & no one can talk to me or explain where my refund of my deposit is at. They have promised phone calls, nothing. How rude and unprofessional can you get? I was contacted to pick up a car, I asked how long i should wait or if it was ready now. "Branch Manager" Aimee Pelzer told me to come at any time. I arrived less than 30 minutes later and suddenly they have ZERO cars available. SHE was so rude about it and curtly said they'd get one down from another town. In her words "it will ONLY be 15 minutes" when i asked why she had told me they had cars available. After nearly ONE HOUR my car was still not there. As she was helping out another customer she said I should have called to check if they had cars first! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! She called ME to tell me they had a vehicle, and in 30 minutes every car is gone!! She was very rude and argumentative the whole time AND in front of 2 other customers. I was not informed, when making the reservation online or when I called the 800# to verify how much would be held on my Debit card, that an SUV could not be rented with a Debit card! Our reservation was one-way since we were moving and needed the extra space of an SUV. Fortunately she was able to upgrade our reservation to a mini-van! This worked out perfectly for us! We had a great trip. She checked and filled the tires before we left since we had such a long trip! The mini-van wasn't cleaned on the inside, but since she had to make a last minute change, we just got some wipes and cleaned it up a bit; it wasn't too bad really. read more

My jeep went in the shop for warranty repair and it was taking longer than anticipated, so I needed a loaner/rental. The car dealership set us up with Enterprise and covered most of the expense. We worked with Tyler who was very personable and helpful. He apologized for the dealership not telling us that the amount they covered was limited to a rate that was lower than even their cheapest vehicle (very annoying, but not Enterprise's fault). Tyler assisted us in getting the best vehicle for the lowest price. Returning the vehicle was a breeze. I was very impressed with Tyler's professionalism and courteous service. read more

First of all, the review written about 4 weeks ago here about a Manager, is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I never like to use names when writing a negative review, so I will just say that I am referring to the female who was Manager at the Cottonwood, AZ branch during this incident. As a corporate account customer for over 10 years, I rented a car for my fiancee to drive to Sedona. She was the only driver, but was accompanied by her mother and our 9 week old baby. The issue found was that when they arrived in Sedona, my fiancee discovered a noticeably bad leak coming from somewhere on the vehicle's engine. After calling the West Sedona and Cottonwood branches, I was informed that there were no cars available in the area. The gentleman at the Cottonwood branch advised my fiancee and party to drive to Flagstaff, where they should have vehicles available. I then asked if he was saying that I should drive a vehicle with a noticeable leak to Flagstaff, with a 9 week old baby in the car. The CS rep appeared to be uncomfortable with confirming this and transferred me to the manager. The Manager picked up; someone who I have rented from in Sedona, many times; however she apparently did not remember me. She stated that yes, if I wanted to switch out the vehicle, my fiancee, her mother and our 9 week old baby would have to drive to Flagstaff in a vehicle with a leak, risking the safety of the vehicle occupants. I once again attempted to confirm what she was saying and also mainly to find a safer and more pro-active solution to this issue. However, attempting to do so, this Manager started to repeat "Do you want me to transfer you to Roadside Assistance? which she did several times in a very robotic manner. I then told her how disappointed I was with her, and suggested that her actions could be a huge liability to her company, and how upset I was that she had absolutely zero care or humanity for the safety of a 9 week old baby. I then stated to her to transfer me to Roadside Assistance, which she did without saying one more word. In the end, a good solution was suggested by the Manager at the West Sedona branch. He found a tow service that could exchange vehicles for my fiancee and family, so they were able to make the 6 hour drive home safely. This incident is so disappointing for me, as it is quite shocking and inhumane. I left a message for the Area Manager regarding this incident, but received no response. read more

Don't count on it! I reserved a car for a weekend trip almost a week in advance, the day before my reservation at 5:40pm I get a call to let me know the car I reserved isn't available. When I came in the next day I had the option to get a smaller car or a truck or suv. Well I'm a bigger guy and wanted a larger car but also don't want to pay for the gas a truck or sub would use. I guess the moral of the story is that you should know a reservation doesn't mean much to Enterprise, just because you reserved a certain class of vehicle does not mean you will get it. read more

I had a great experience here. Julie and Amy were very helpful. Reservation was easy to make online; went in and was shown all available cars. The selection was limited - the only drawback. Otherwise, this was an easy, pleasant rental. Julie showed me all the bells and whistles on my car and even recommended what she thought was the best one on the lot for the price. (I'd recommend full protection on the car if you can afford it, because I had no worries about losing keys, flat tires or getting scratched anything in the parking lot). The staff here are wonderful. I rented a car to drive to Tucson online and requested a standard size. All they had when I showed up was a tiny little Mitsubishi Mirage. I asked for a bigger car but didn't have time to wait, and Emma told me I could go to another enterprise and exchange it, but I really didn't want to waste my time doing that. I took it because I only had two days for my vacation with my children. Driving it on the freeway was pretty scary. When I got back and told them they gave me a discount and were so sweet. I hope nobody ever gets stranded & needs to call this Enterprise for a car rental because all you'll get is the run around. I called Enterprise & they confirmed my car rental, then I was told to call this Enterprise as I needed somebody to pick me up. I called & they said that the car that was confirmed for me was in the shop & they must have not updated their website with the info, acting like it's no big deal, they told me to call back in about 1/2 hr as they were going to have a car available. I called back & was told they don't know when they'll have an availability but they would call me probably not till late in the afternoon when cars are starting to be returned. Needless to say, I never got a call from them. It's a good thing I found another ride. Note to Enterprise: If you're going to rent out cars, make sure all your people are on the same page & make sure your website is updated with the correct information. read more

My girl friend needed a car to travel , hers was not working so well. The woman that I spoke with failed to tell me that they would put a $250 hold on her debit card as she does not have a credit card. This caused some trouble as I had to run and put some money in her account. But they more than made up for the minor inconvenience. Anthony was super helpful and friendly. My birthday was at the beginning of the month and we had a whole weekend trip planned out. So when our car suddenly had to be in the shop I was super bummed. We went to Enterprise for a rental. They were helping someone else with an issue but greeted us warmly right away and let us know they'd be with us as soon as possible. When it was our turn, the manager Aimee was awesome! She was great as explaining everything. We also qualified for two different discounts and she made sure to run the numbers to make sure we used the one that would save us the most money. We were also in a pickle because the office would be closed the Monday we wanted to return the car to avoid having to pay an extra night. But Aimee offered to meet us at the store anyway on her day off so that we could save the extra money. So nice!! In the end we had a friend offer to lend us her car so we decided to save the cash and not do the rental. I felt so bad I had taken up Aimee's time but she was so nice about it and warmly invited us back if we ever needed a rental in the future. They don't keep a thousand cars here just in case.. I was a recent customer at the Cottonwood location. The store was busy and the staff was hustling trying to help all of the customers. There was one customer who was completely rude to the staff and the manager which was uncalled for. However the manager, Aimee, remained calm, talked though policy and the situation and how she could remedy problems. It was impressive, when I was helped, I was put into a nice clean car, they went through all of the different options with me which was great and then ensured that I was comfortable driving the midsize. Very thorough and detailed discussions about prices and insurance and premium customer service by the manager. I will be back. read more

I recently had my car smoke during the Sedona fires it was taken to the salvage yard. I was given a rental. During this time there were anomalies with my claim and I was called to stop but the insurance company allowed me the car for my full 30 days plus a three day extension by the company. However two weeks after the car was returned the insurance company did not pay Enterprise the full claim, so Enterprise used my credit card and charged up more than the legal insurance deductible for the claim without my permission. I would never rent with this franchise ever, or with Enterprise if there is another option available. They use extortion methods and passed judgement on my responsibility during the claim. Also why didn't they take the money out of AAA insurance's account they would not bounce their checks. Why didn't they extort money from someone with even more megalomaniacal business practices? I guess because they were afraid of losing that account so truth did not matter. Sometimes the smaller companies who still have agents that send you reminder cards are better. I say stay away from this corporation for they are truly in the pockets of the other ones. read more

I have rented an SUV from Enterprise rent a car 3 times to transport my family for the airport. They are moving here and the bring alot with the so I need a bigger car to bring them up. My car is big enough to return them. People that work for Enterprise are really nice Cars work very well but here is the problem. The first car I had to get in Flagstaff because offices were closed in Cottonwood and Sedona after 1 PM Sat until Monday. The car was so filthy I spent 3 hrs cleaning it myself. The second car was from Cottonwood and was Black so could not see dirt. The third car was worse. The poor sales agent spent over an hour trying to clean the car for me. NO matter what she did the car was so dirty I told them to forget it. I called my neighbor and he help me pick up my family. I see that customer care says they care but I talked to the corporate head quarters and they said someone would call me. No one did. You are trapped here and the only other care rental except Hertz. We took a vacation with a rented RV to Sedona the last weekend of October. We realized that sightseeing in the RV was not a good idea (even though it was a small RV) and decided to rent a small vehicle. I had a very nice young man pick me up from the campgrounds and on the way to the office he asked why we were in Sedona, had we ever been there before, etc. He gave me several recommendations of places to check out, approximately how far away they were and was overall a wonderful young man! He even told me where grocery stores and Walmart was in case i needed anything. when I got to the office, Aimee helped with the reservation. She also gave me quite a list of places to check out and helped me save money by letting me know to keep my receipt from Montezuma's Castle to use for entry at Tuzigoot. She had plenty of knowledge of the area and was SOOO helpful! Everyone I came into contact with was wonderful and extremely helpful! The whole team in this place is different and I understand people move on but the way that the business was ran should not. The manager is requiring you show your insurance when this was never done before, I know for a fact that they don't need this information. When I called the office to ask a few questions the "branch manager" said let me send you over to my reservations specialist. That was a load of crap! The woman couldn't speak English and couldn't answer the questions that I had. The woman that checked us into the car was pleasant but seemed to not have very much training or that the new manager was messing with everything and she didn't know what to do. The car was okay ish, when we got the car it was not very clean. The car had been somewhat vacuumed but not washed and it was a sunny day no rain in sight. The man who checked us in was great he seemed to know what he was doing and was able to help and answer questions that I had. When I returned the car, the office was very busy but the lady in charge was always courteous and professional. My main problem with this company is that 90% of the time I reserve a car with them, it is unavailable when I show up to pick it up. They DO NOT hold a car for you, even with a reservation! Why on earth would you allow customers to reserve a vehicle with the assumption there will be a car waiting for them, when the truth is, it is a "first come, first serve" situation?? I have to travel out of state frequently. If there were another car rental company in this town, I would definitely use them instead of Enterprise. They have screwed up so many of my trips, it's ridiculous! I have had to drive as far away as Flagstaff or Phoenix to get a rental car after I had already made a reservation with this company here in Cottonwood, only to show up and have them tell me there are no vehicles available!
