First of all, I never write reviews but this was very warranted. I rented a car and upgraded to luxury vehicle : once driving the vehicle the check engine collant light came on a few times. To be safe and not damage the car : I called the Enterprise by my Dads place where I was staying. They immediately put me in a car, later that day when we found out the luxury car needed to be taken to the dealer, Marquis at the Royal Oak office put me a very nice new car. He also was so professional, kind and hardworking. Upon changing my reservation & returning my car to DTW a few days early as had to get back home for a work project : was presented a bill that hadn't been adjusted yet. Mike took the lead and was kind, professional and apologetic to my situation. I wasn't looking for sympathy: life happens, it's how we you react to the events that define who you are. Mike offered a very generous discount for my inconvenience and I accepted. He told me he'd take care of it as I was trying to catch the shuttle (which they have a ton of so rides to and from DTW were super quick). This morning I had call from David the store manager who wanted to make sure I was happy with my experience. The level of professional service, kind demeanor and above & beyond good humans (even the young lady who checked my car in) at every turn made this an experience I won't forget. Remember you get more bees with honey. The way the whole Enterprise team handled this very little hiccup makes them the sweetest in my book! read more

I have never been SOOOOO disappointed in Enterprise in my life. We booked a 15-passenger van with Enterprise on January 20, 2026, well in advance of our trip scheduled for July 24 through August 2. This was not just any trip. A group of family and friends were travelling with me from Canada to Texas so we could bring my husband's ashes home. It was an incredibly important and emotional journey for all of us. Because of how important this trip was, we did everything we could to make sure there would be no issues. We confirmed our reservation multiple times over the months leading up to our departure. We even called Enterprise three separate times during the week before our trip, and each time we were assured that everything was good to go. Then, on the very day we were supposed to leave, we received a call telling us they did not have a vehicle for us. WHAT?! How does this even happen? We immediately called and asked to speak with a manager, but instead of receiving a solution, we were given a frustrating runaround of excuses. We were eventually told that an area manager would supposedly have a vehicle brought to the airport for our 6:00 p.m. pickup time. This was especially confusing because we had initially been told there were no vehicles available due to recalls. At that point, we simply could not gamble with our trip or trust that Enterprise would actually come through. We had to start calling other rental companies ourselves, scrambling at the very last minute to find transportation for our family and friends. We planned ahead. We booked months in advance. We repeatedly confirmed our reservation. We called multiple times the week before. We did everything right. And despite all of that, Enterprise didn't just drop the ball--they stomped on it at the worst possible moment. Thankfully, Budget Rental came through for us when we needed them most. They helped us out at the last minute and made sure we had a vehicle so we could continue with our journey. Thank you, Budget, for stepping up when Enterprise let us down. You have earned our business going forward, as well as the business of everyone I know who hears this story. Enterprise, you should be ashamed of how this reservation was handled. When people are trusting you with something this important, the least you can do is honour a reservation that was made six months in advance and repeatedly confirmed. read more

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience this visit on 12/20/25 at this Detroit Airport location. My Husband reserved a Premium SUV almost a month in advance of our arrival date. We took the airport shuttle here and the line was super long. My Husband checked in, he has one of those great customer accounts since he frequently rents from Enterprise. Well, we saw several families waiting for their vehicles for over 30 mins. A majority of the time, an employee would come to talk to the people waiting on cars to ask if they would rather rent another class/type of vehicle. This was a RED FLAG and it happened about 4 times in 45 minutes. At an hour of waiting, a male employee comes over and asks if we would consider a Dodge Durango (which is not the suv class that we reserved). We let him know that it would not work for us, due to our party size and luggage amount. We have 3 people at and over 6 foot and 1 who is 5ft 8 inches, plus 8 pieces of luggage, backpacks, purses, etc., which is why we reserved a premium SUV. Meanwhile, 2 smaller (shorter and less people) got their premium suvs and drove off.... Another employee named Owen asked again (this is at 1hr 15mins) if we would take a Dodge Durango. Again, we declined and thanked him for offering. We then had to explain our party size and luggage amount. He said that they are checking the whole fleet including National and Alamo lots... Owen returns and asks my Husband to have a look at Jeep Wagoneer. My Husband said that it was not the class that we reserved, but it will work. Owen took a bit off of the price for the hassle and smaller vehicle class. Overall, they did not have the vehicle class that we reserved and paid for, it was snowing, it was cold, it was very bad. We waited a total of 1 hour and 45 mins to get a vehicle; even though we reserved a month in advance. I do not recommend this location during the holidays. When we brought the suv back, we prepaid for fuel and the estimated cost held on the credit card was set. We even brought the suv back with almost a half tank of fuel. The total was $40 over what the original credit card hold was. This place is a joke, scam, and most importantly unreliable. read more

I recently flew into Detroit and rented a car from this Enterprise. This wasn't the first time I have rented from here, yet my past experiences were just so-so, and I didn't really expect much. I must say that this time was quite different. The representative that assisted me on this day was Elizabeth. She was pleasant, professional, and moved quick when retrieving the vehicle I reserved. She took her time and explained the process to me (although I wasn't new to this) and did so without attitude, which is a big plus in my book. Even the return experience I faced when I brought the car back was fast and hassle-free. I will definitely do business with this rental car place again in the future the next time I come back to Detroit. read more

This is my first time renting from Enterprise and it was a wonderful experience! The employees are kind, courteous and show empathy for the customer. The shuttles are smaller but they seem to have enough in rotation. Our driver "The Candyman" offered a basket of free candy and he lifted suitcases on and off the shuttle. He even did a quick song and dance move as he loaded bags! He made my day. I will definitely switch all my rentals to Enterprise based on this positive end to end experience. read more

This was my first time ever renting a car and I'm glad to report it was a great experience thanks to this enterprise location! To give you some background, I reserved this car via. the Chase travel portal. It was easy to input my dates, pickup times, and on top of that I got 10x points for the rental thanks to having the sapphire reserve card. Upon arriving at the airport, it was easy to get my bag and head over to their complimentary shuttle. The rental place itself is located just outside the airport. I was able to check in within 10 minutes and waited outside as they walked to my rental. I asked if they had a particular car in stock and they were able to grant my request because I opted for a regular SUV rental. I actually ended up having an issue with the seat on the original car I rented (CX-5) and came back the same day to switch for a RAV4. During the switch I waited a good 30 minutes because there was a person a head of me who had a very serious issue with the papers. The gentlemen that helped her helped me after was super professional, quick, and very understanding. I would recommend trying to prepay for everything before coming here to make your experience seemless and smooth. Don't be scared to ask for a certain car as long as it's in the same rental class you choose. I would also take pictures all around the car when you pick it up in case something were to happen. My total was about $520 for the whole week. Although my company paid for it i think it's a pretty decent price. Returning the car was easy and they also have a shuttle to take you back to the airport. I would rent from here again! read more

This company is a piece of sh*t that makes false and misleading statements on their website as to what their policy is, and REFUSES to honor their policy as stated on the website AND by their customer service. They just pop up with random "policies" not stated anywhere (website, emails, etc - I read the fine print before I booked AND chatted with their customer service team to confirm all would be well before I traveled. IT WAS NOT ALL WELL. I flew in to work for a few days before flying back to my home out of state and now I'm stranded in Detroit, without the car I was told woukd be here, wasting precious time, and being told to walk the quarter of a mile to a different a company or take a shuttle back to the airport to take a shuttle to a different company. I STRONGLY recommend NEVER using this company for any reason. Staff and managers were unhelpful and said to go somewhere else - SO PLEASE take them at their word and do! They would rather send their business elsewhere than honor their own stated policies. This company is untrustworthy and does not value their customers experience or apparently their money, so don't give it to them! read more

We fly in and out of DTW quite often. Last time, we had a horrible time renting from Hertz--waited over an hour, staff sniped at each other and yelled at customer in front of us, car had bad brakes. Long wait at counter for car on Apr 9 22:00. Person taking us to car had major difficulty finding an operational car (majority were flagged for repair, one totally worn grinding brakes, dirty interiors, etc). The Mitsubishi Eclipse Sport had "Maintenance Required" light go on at 6400 miles, one day after rental; also car VERY uncomfortable seats, erratic suspension/steering, poor Apple car play connection. Employees were VERY nice and informative, excellent. Just overworked people and cars NOT well maintained! read more

I been a customer for over 20 years and today I no longer will support this business. I reserved a car and I purchased two one way plane tickets together instead of a round trip ticket, I normally pay with a debit card ( don't have a credit card) and I was told I couldn't rent because I purchased two one way vs a round trip ticket. if I have a credit card they would accept my one way ticket, according to the website as long as you have proof of a return flight it's okay, it doesn't specify it must be a round trip, the only reason I didn't get a round trip is because I was trying to save money, the ticket was already outrageous, customer service said they didn't see why I was denied but I would have to speak to a regional manager who would call me back but guess what they never called back, I waited 2 hours at the airport and nothing !!!! Nobody was calling me back especially on a Sunday, Oh the lady at Enterprise counter did suggest that I could go across the street and see if I could get a rental instead of even suggesting anything else. I'm done, never again will I rent from them and I'm making sure I let everyone know about my experience read more

Every representative what walked by asking my name to tell me how many ppl were ahead of us. When our turn was up, we reserved a small SUV. We often get free upgrades with Enterprise & saw they had many hockey players with gear. So I asked if they had a truck instead & would the upgrade be free? Less than a minute later, the guy pulled up a Dodge 1500! When we arrived tonight to return it early, I was given a refund of $77 because of being 12 hours early. That never happens!!! So I wanna start off by saying I've tried other rental companies some good some bad but my experience with enterprise was fantastic. I booked an elite SUV and the gentleman that helped me was very nice and he upgraded me for free, so I got a platinum SUV which made my whole experience 10 times better. The car was perfect with the unpredictable weather conditions. All wheel drive. A ton of space which was great. If you're ever looking to rent a big SUV the "Wagoneer" is the best option. I'm probably one of the odd people that I want to make sure that companies can't charge me for damage so I will get a car wash to make sure that there's no major scratches or dents that I can get blamed for that's why the car is so clean in the picture. read more

We were victims of Spirit airlines overnight closure while vacationing down in Florida. Both locations were more than friendly and accommodating with helping us find a good vehicle to get us back home. When I got back to Detroit to drop off the car I mentioned some issues with the car I had noticed, nothing of significance, and it wasn't said to complain about those issues, it was more of a FYI for the next guy. they really hooked us up with a good discount over it!! I repeatedly said it was unnecessary but the gentleman who helped us insisted and said that they were just happy to help. I wish I had remembered his name because it was truly such a blessing after losing our flights last second like we did. Would have loved to have given him an extra shout out!! Your spouse can be added as a driver at no cost, they are always accommodating and easy to do business with and, we never had a bad experience. There was nothing easy about Easirent. Waiting at airport like a dummy thinking they would come in 20 minutes like all the other shuttles, but Nooooo. You have to call them! Then when you get there be prepared for cars that need new tires and have cracked windshield to choose from. The icing on the cake was paying $25 a day for car insurance that you have to get or you get no car! The manager was nice but working at a dead end company. read more

Rented a Ford F150 for a week and when I returned it, I felt like I was coming home! There were so many staff on hand to make sure that my experience have been good. If there is a ZERO, i will give ZERO without thinking. I rented a car from enterprise Detroit airport to attend my nephew's campus day in U Michigan on last Friday. I was told everything was fine and free to go. Just got a Email that said THEY FOUND A BIG HOLE HIT BY A ROCK IN THE CONDENSER WHICH DAMAGED A/C SYSTEM. How could you check any damages under the hood when you picked up the vehicle. Please check your car before you picked up to make sure that was not a hole hit by a rock accidently to make A/C cracked. Terrible experience!!!!! read more

I always have exceptional service at the Detroit Metro Airport Enterprise Rent-A-Car location. My flight was delayed this trip due to the FAA computer failure in January 2023. I knew they had to have had a stressful day, so I made sure to be polite and have patience. The wait wasn't long at all, and the manager passed me off to Taylor to help me with my rental. He had a positive attitude and we joked about us both having a challenging day. But Taylor treated me like I was his first customer of the day and was very attentive. I've worked in customer service for many years. Lately, it's become a challenge to find good service, but also having to deal with rude people. Taylor showed employees still go above and beyond and not just skate through their jobs. Taylor represents Enterprise Rent-A-Car very well. read more

A major update: following up with Enterprise customer service was not helpful. The rep showed no real understanding of my frustrations -- which mainly was the lack of clear communication with the customer, which cost me time and money for a reservation made more than 3 months in advance. The one positive shoutout is to the woman associate at a Garden City Enterprise. She explained to my sister that due to a van recall, premium vehicles were given to people wanting vans. But what I still don't understand is how my premium vehicle that I reserved months in advance is still given away. Also, the fact that customer service assured me that there would be a premium vehicle (Jeep) available at a specific location after I was told nothing was available at two prior locations, then after booking that location (Redford) calls me two minutes later to say they're all out of vehicles, completely blows me. Why are there premium vehicles posted online if they're not actually available? And why is a customer who reserved a vehicle more than three months in advance the one out of luck? The rep today said that locations call to notify customers when there's a vehicle shortage. My initial reservation location called, but never stated there was a shortage, only asked if I was "still interested" and "to go over the options with me". I still have the message. Of course I'm still interested, I didn't cancel my reservation. The lack of clear information and passing me on to the next several Enterprise locations with no resolve, shows a flawed customer experience through Enterprise. My latest interaction with customer service resulted in my report being sent to management, allegedly. This just keeps being a piss-poor experience. No accountability, whatsoever. My family and I almost didn't make our family reunion because of this, and no one at Enterprise that I've spoken to understands why I'd be upset about that. read more
