THEN........ wanted to return car to Enterprise in Glen Head NY. near new car dealer! Tried to call for information. Male answered said "please hold" and left me on hold for 20 minutes!!!!! I thought he had forgotten about me so I hung up. Tried again 15 minutes later. This time was on hold for a full 30 minutes!!!!! I hung up. How could I possibly trust them for anything!! When I asked him the reason he give me their corporate office number. I called corporate office and inquired about it. They said contact local office in Glen Cove. This is ridiculous. This is not a branch I would use again. They indicate that they offer a clean and sanitized car. In fact they gave me a car completely covered in bird poop with all due apologies. I was promised a coupon where I could bring the car in to be cleaned since I was now viewed as a new employee of enterprise. The coupon was not provided and when I got home I called and said it was not in the car and I was told unfortunately I would have to come back and pick it up. I asked if they could put it in an envelope and send it to me and I was told that the manager, Lauren, said no to this. After I threatened to contact the corporate office somebody drove it over which took them exactly 5 minutes. Because I recently had surgery and was not going to use the car and was not allowed to drive, I called the Garvies point enterprise branch and asked if someone could pick up the car. Unfortunately the person who answered the phone was Lauren the manager who thought even a stamp was too much for a customer. Needless to say she thought picking up the car was too much for a customer as well. Her manner was rude and unprofessional as well as quite nasty. I told her that I had no one to bring the car back and that I could not drive it. I have no idea why a company like Enterprise would keep a so-called manager like this woman employed who in my view is clearly intent upon getting rid of customers. In my opinion she is not up to the job and accordingly I will never go back there. I called the corporate office and explained the problem and amazingly someone came and picked up the car. Don't rent from Enterprise, or if you must, not from Glen Cove or Summer Street Stamford, CT, and use their insurance, and/or take a lot of pictures of the vehicle prior to getting behind the wheel. Trust me on this. I rented a mini-van (Chrysler, Pacifica) from them April of 2022. They were the only location within 100 miles that had one for under twice what others wanted. I walked around the car with the young man (I think his name was Mike(?) he was very friendly) to assess damage, of which there was a decent amount. In addition it was dirty, there were stains on the floor and seats, food in the cup holders (some sort of sugary dessert), and crumbs, hair, fingerprints and general detritus all about the rear cabin. It only had a half tank of gas and there was a musty, animal scent in the car. It was raining, and we both wanted to get this done quickly. He showed me on his iPad the yellow sections of damage, and they all looked to be in order. I did NOT receive a copy of this damage, prior to pulling off. I assumed it would be sent to me digitally via my rental agreement email. It was not. Before this, I asked if he had any other vans, to which he responded "no, this is our last one." I took it begrudgingly, but what else was there to do? Of the damage I recall, there was a dent in the front quarter-panel, a crack in the bumper, scratches along the right side of the car, and missing/chipped paint in two areas that were both rusty. One of them was to the top of the corner of the rear hatch, I don't have any clue how someone manages to do that, but it was there. We drove from NY to Florida and Back over the course of two weeks. We parked the car away from most others (we needed the room to open the doors and change our infant) during our trip, and never, not once, got into an accident. If there was any damage that happened to the vehicle while it was parked and while we were at a place of business, it was nothing we noticed. The rest of the time the vehicle was parked in a rental houses' garage, in a gated community. This was over Easter so once it was parked that was pretty much it until we had to drive home. I thought of having the car cleaned but I remember someone having this done and then they got hit for damage to the car that the car wash inflicted, so I left it sadly, dirty. When I returned the vehicle I returned it at a remote location (not the original one) and I believe this was part of the issue. The receiving locations manager in Stamford CT, Summer Street, looked at the iPad and said that "everything looked to be in order, have a nice day." They never stated that there was new damage to the car, a week later I get a claim report stating I damaged the car. When I asked for an explanation via email, I received a cryptic response stating that the claim dispute had begun and I'll hear back within two weeks. Less than a week later they said that I damaged the car and that I need to resolve this. Recap; I didn't damage the van, I never received a pre-drive damage report, they let me leave the return with the receiving employees agreeing that there was no damage, when I responded they didn't give me an explanation of what I supposedly damaged, they never gave me an estimate of the damages. What does someone do when you don't damage the car, but since you didn't take photographic evidence of every single inch of the car, your dispute comes back, "nope sorry we say you damaged this so pay up?" I had already gotten an insurance plan on the booking from priceline, something told me to just do this, and I am currently trying to resolve this through them, but this should have never gotten to this point. So what did we learn? Review every aspect of the vehicles' damage with the rental employee, regardless of your situation, make sure it is accounted for, take photographic/video evidence, get a copy of the report before you drive off the lot, and to make life easier, just pay for their insurance. Also never rent from Enterprise. I used to rent from Enterprise freely when I needed a car. It was quick and convenient and close by my house. I will not be renting from Enterprise again. read more

I was in the area this past weekend and ended up renting a car from this location. Location Depending on which angle you're coming from it might be difficult to spot. With it being nested a small nook of the Land Rover dealership it is very easy to miss. The parking lot is also very tiny making the probability of empty parking spaces low depending on when you come by. Rental Hey, what can I say. I'm a frugalista. I went with the compact category. However, I didn't get a hideous vehicle and it gave me no problems the entire time I had it. No frills, just the basics and that's all I needed. I was satisfied. Service Everyone I encountered here was friendly, personable, prompt with providing service to customers and polite. I had no problems but I'm sure if I did they would've worked diligently to resolve them. read more

Just terrible. My experience was very similar to several 1-star ratings at Google Reviews, so this seems to be systematic shady business from this branch. The reason I rented a car was that the car insurance company of the guy who rear-ended me sent me there. Started of bad with the assistant branch manager couldnt get hold of the correct people at the car insurance company so I had to call. Everything was set and I was informed the car insurance company payed for it but that I needed to give a credit card for a $200 deposit. I signed and gave my card. After the car was returned I started notice strange things. The deposit wasn't returned rather charges of the same $200 was flipped on and off on my credit card. I called Enterprise at branch and they said everything was in order and that I wasn't going to be charged the deposit and that the deposit was going to be returned within a couple of days no other charges. A couple of days later they had charged by credit card $620.54. I went online to check rental receipt and could see that they had added roadside assistance, PAI/PEC and DW despite me being very clear I already had insurance and that I didn't want to pay for anything more than the guy who rear-ended me insurance company would cover. I called them twice but no one in the store said they were trained or authorized to deal with the case and told me someone would call me back. No one did. I called again and they said same thing again but that I should come in the following day. I came in and no one was able to help me because of the manager wasn't there. They said he would call me. He didn't call me so drove to the store and now found the assistant branch manager. He disputed the events and falsely claimed that the charge to the credit card could not be dropped because he already payed the insurance company and was very rude. When I asked to talk to his district manager he wasn't co-operative and I had to call corporate support there directly in the store to set me up with a complain. Corporate were helpful and polite. I'm now waiting for the district/area manager to get back to me. But so far absolutely terrible! Stay away! read more

I was returning the car since I could no longer pay for a rental out of pocket when my case manager from Chrysler called (was dealing with Chrysler corporate due to the unwillingness to help me at my dealership East Hills). Beware! I was scammed at Enterprise in Glen Cove. I received an old car with several dings and dents ( it reeked of marijuana too). I was assured that it was no problem... They told me it needed to be the size of a golf ball or 5 inches. When I returned the car they said I signed that the car was in perfect condition. They asked me to sign in a few places but never printed anything out for me. The staff especially the manager and two others was extremely aggressive. I personally believe this was directed towards me because I am a senior citizen and they thought they could get away with it. read more

Garvies Point glen cove NY is a disgusting location of Enterprise they're all about overcharging and falsifying claims they said existing damage was caused by me I inspected the car with Mgr Lauren she barely looked it over was a replacement from the 1st rental which reeked of smoke! I have been using this car rental for years and the service in this branch has really changed they are very rude now, I rented a few weeks ago and I was given one price and I went back to rent the same car and they gave me a price and it was double of what I rented it about a month ago, I spoke with one of the sales person and he did not even honor the price I paid, I spent thousands of dollars with them this year and I will definitely not go back! The worst company I have ever dealt with, bar none. I have never had a smooth transaction with this organization. Just rented a car from them while mine was being repaired. They gave me one that leaked on my driveway and in my garage. They have been totally unresponsive except to say, "it's not my job", call someone else. I called their corporate office and tried to reach someone, anyone, but not a single one of their extensions connect to anything. The only reason I used them this time was because my repair shop was right next door to their office. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GET SUCKERED INTO USING ENTERPRIZE. What an amazing experience I had with the boys down in glen cove. Spoke to jerry on the phone and had an amazing transition when I walked in. Dealt with PJ in the office who was very efficient. Answered all my questions and checked me into a great orange charger. Kept the car for over a month and spoke to Evan to check on what was necessary gas was needed. All the guys working at this location are super helpful, accommodating, and very professional. I was involved in an a car accident right before the new year and within minutes of speaking with the insurance company- enterprise called me, picked me up, and put me in a beautiful, new Tahoe so I wouldn't be late for work. I had the car for 55 days (due to extensive damage to my own vehicle) and returned it with no issue.
