The wait time is horrible. No sense of urgency and I tried calling from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. No answer and just sad. They take money out of my account without letting me know. Just poorly run. We have tried twice to rent a passenger van and were disappointed both times. This last time, they wanted us to go to Tampa International Airport to pick up the van. We reserved the van weeks before and even stopped in earlier in the week to confirm, and the salesperson said yes, and it is on our lot. The day to pick up is not there!!! Customer service horrible. I was probably her first customer, beginning of day yet she was so kind, upbeat, happy & provided me all the information I needed. Set up by reservation & everything just went seamless. Short staffed is not an excuse. It is neglect. I have been attempting to use Lakeland Fl. Enterprise on highway 98 North. My first rental was terrible. First, I reserved a midsized SUV several days in advance. The manager Ryan assured me that he would send a driver to pick me up in advance of my pickup time of 4pm and would call me 20 or 15 minutes before 4pm at about 3:55 I called and was on hold for at least 20 minutes as they would pick up and hang up the phone to avoid the call several times during this waiting period. Once they answered they said they would send someone. After about 20 more minutes I tried to call again but once again they would just continue to quickly pick up and hang up the phone without speaking to avoid the call. I tried to call customer service after a long wait. Someone said they transferred me to the Lakeland office, and I knew the same thing would happen again. I was still on hold when, eventually a ride showed, and I got to the branch at 5pm. I was on my trip from Fl to PA and about 4 hours into the trip the air conditioning condensate was leaking into the passenger side floorboard and amounted to about 3 inches of water in the car soaking the Items I had on the floor. When I called about the problem, I got the same runaround. The vehicle sounded like it had a bad rear end by the noise coming from the rear of the vehicle with over 55 thousand miles on it. When it started to rain as I was entering a busy intersection, I turned on the windshield wipers a saw that the wipers were completely shot and made visibility worse. I sprayed the windshield washer fluid, and it was chalky like mud and blinded me nearly causing a major accident. I eventually traded the vehicle for another at the Richmond Va. International airport. They said they gave me their worst vehicle because they were losing it. It was a Volkswagen SUV. It was better but the side view mirrors did not work right and made driving hazardous. When I returned the vehicle, it was a long experience and Ryan assured me I would get a premium vehicle next time to compensate. A couple weeks later I called to reserve another vehicle for 4 days. Ryan was not at work. Someone else helped me and I explained that Ryan said I would get a premium vehicle. The person told me not to book it online so they could take care of the upgrade when I came in. He said he booked a standard SUV. I told him I needed a pickup and reminded him that last time the ride did not show and please ensure this will not happen again and he said he noted this in the system and that I would receive a call about 20 minutes prior to the arrival of the driver. I told him the pickup time was 10 am so I was expecting a driver at about 9:45 and he assured me again that it would not be forgotten. On the day scheduled at 9:55am, I called to see if someone was coming to pick me up and once again, I was immediately put on hold and could hear each time they would pick up and hang up the phone avoiding the call. Once on the phone the person said that someone was on the way. When the driver arrived at 10:25 the driver said he had just been notified after 10 am. This pickup experience was no better and I ended up with a midsize SUV that does not have the front distance follow feature I had told them I would like. When I reminded him again that I was supposed to get a premium rental he asked if I could wait for a while for them to get a premium vehicle ready and that it would have more miles on it than the one, he showed me that is a 2021 Chevy trailblazer with 34606 miles. As I was already late for a meeting, I accepted the midsize SUV. I hope to arrive alive. read more

worst organization to rent from. employees are ride to include brannon the manager. reserved a sedan and specifically told thenm i cannot drive anything better. they showed up with a dodge journey. i returned the jext day and still the same thing then the manager had the audacity to day they don't rent mini coopers there.!!! i'm i returned my vehicle and left an item in it. they supposedly cant find it and the manager said theres nothing he can do that it isn't his problem. when i call they out me on hold hoe hours. asked for the district manager number and he never answers or calls back. contacted the corporate office for days and still waiting on a call back. as an active duty member that uses enterprises i will ensure thaat they get black list. rude, no customer service and thieves. take your business to another rentak company. read more

I have rented from here at least 3-4 times this year and I am always satisfied with the customer service and the vehicles. It can get crowded for weekend and holiday travel which means they may run out of certain vehicles but the customer service makes up for it. The folks here are very accommodating and when a neighbor unexpectedly backed into my convertible and it had to go in the shop, the people at this Enterprise not only showed the utmost courtesy, they went the extra mile and put me in a "commensurate car" (the closest they had to my Mercedes roadster was a Ford Mustang convertible, virtually new). Between this Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the neighbor's insurance company (Progressive), and the nearby Douglas Collision, the entire misfortunate experience was made as smooth as possible. read more

I had such a good experience at the north Lakeland Enterprise Rent A Car. I had reserved a mid size car a month in advance. When I arrived they didn't have any available. They asked if a smaller car would be okay and I explained we were taking a road trip to the Grand Canyon and a smaller car would not work. They immediately upgraded me for no charge to a really nice mini van. We had it for two weeks and it never gave me any trouble and was a very comfortable vehicle. When I returned the vehicle the manager came out to make sure the vehicle worked out okay for us. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Waited at the rental office 45 minutes as they had no cars available. Phones ringing off the wall and only 1 person there. The 3 other agents running across town to get cars. Switched the car I was to get, and got one that had a low tire?? I had one reserved!! Rented a car for $24.95, told I MUST have their insurance $20.00. Had to pay $40.00 for drop off fee for 150 miles away? Total cost $97. I don't need this type of service as there are so many other car rental. DONE!!!!! read more

Picked up by Enterprise from Field Mercedes since dealership didn't have any loaners. Assumed it would be free, took 45 minutes to finish, forced the $20.98 basic insurance coverage on me because they didn't mention that I could decline coverage. Just said "do you want basic or full coverage?" taking the car to work and back for 2 days. Office was dirty, computers froze up, the car was nasty. I went back same day to sign paperwork to decline the coverage, and 6 days later I'm still waiting for a credit on my card. one word "GARBAGE!" read more

Whereas those we dealt with were extremely friendly, we didn't find them extremely helpful or communicative. We were given an economy car rental through Enterprise via Geico due to a minor car accident and our car being out of commission for a little over 30 days. My husband and I were told that it would be approximately $1.00 a day as insurance was covering the rest--needless to say, we were extremely surprised when four weeks later, our bank account (since they make you give a debit or credit card to them) was debited nearly $300. As it turned out, they had tacked on an additional insurance without telling us and things ended up being over $13 a day. We were not prepared for that and in no form or fashion was warned. Nothing was taken care of even after speaking to the manager. She remained very friendly--but extremely unhelpful. Needless to say, we will be requesting or going to another car rental company if it is needed next time. read more
