    We've been renting a car once a month from this location to visit my son who's stationed there. The last 2 times we've rented the car hasn't been full. The first time I was told they'd give me a credit this was a male rep at the counter, that never happened but I blew it off. This weekend we went rented a car again after waiting in line for quite a while due to the holiday weekend and long lines. The car once again was not full, but with it being so late at night, we decided not a big deal. We would address it later return the car Monday morning at 4:00 AM with a note on the rental agreement stating that it was frustrating that the car was not full with the receipt of filling the car the mileage and everything come home a few hours later after calling customer service to handle the situation because that location specifically has to handle the location. We get our final receipt and which they charged me fuel service charge of $60 on full vehicle so I called the location and it transfers me to customer customer service customer service explains that I need to call and it may take several times of calling but call and only let it ring a couple times and then I can speak to somebody at that location so I do just that the first two times I'm hung up on the third time someone answered the phone, but let it sit on the counter and you could hear the keyboard clicking and then they hung up the phone not knowing what was going on because I'm doing what customer service told me to do. I call back again and which a gentleman at 10:40 AM answers the phone and starts telling me that it's closed to call back tomorrow morning. I explain I just need to talk to somebody to figure out what's going on and he starts getting nasty at me that I've called a ridiculous amount of times and I said I just need to ask a question and he starts yelling at me in the phone that they're closed and he just happens to be there doing work to call back tomorrow and I said can I please get your name sir and he hung up on me so I have to call customer service again to file a formal Complaint and just wait. We have given our customer service to this company for the last four months just this location, but this will be the last time. This was extremely frustrating and irritating and the customer service handling the situation at that location is very inconsiderate and disrespectful. Called today, Tuesday, September 3rd To speak to the location, the car was rented from directly, asked to speak to the manager was told that the gentleman I speaking to was a manager. I informed him of the situation to be called a liar that they would never rent out cars, not full even though I told him I had proof then told I was a liar. Customer service would never tell me to call multiple times to speak to somebody directly then when I asked him about calling yesterday and who would've answered the phone, he said he was there yesterday I proceeded to start to tell him how frustrated I felt the way he was treating me over the phone and then he told me he needed to put me on hold and put on hold for 14 minutes, which I'm sure was really just his way of not dealing with the situation. Called and spoke to customer service again all they told me I could do was file a complaint which I did waiting to hear back

    Reserved a car here. No one present at the front desk. No one answered the phone. Had to book a different car at Avis.

She made a very stressful situation stress free within minutes. Assisted us with getting our guest a new vehicle within minutes, and they were able to continue their road trip. She then allowed us to return the old car for the guest once we found the keys. For personal use, I usually go to hertz or enterprise in the past, this has now made me an Avis customer. Thank you!

    DO NOT COME HERE…read more If I could give these people a negative number I would. I rented a vehicle in Dec for my sons birthday trip. I prepaid calling the Monterey number. They never answered. So it went to 800 number. I paid the reservation and arrived at the time I was sent an email to arrive. Upon arrival a man wearing a backward ball cap asked for my info. He then proceeded to share that there was no cars. I said how so? I have already paid and was told this was the time for my pickup. He said it's the holidays, it's busy. He said he couldn't help with the cancellation and referred me to the 800 #. I called the customer service # and they told me My refund would take 5-10 days. I was upset because I didn't get a car when I was promised after I had already paid. So I wanted my refund asap. It's now end of January and no refund. I called the Monterey office. Spoke to someone, she put me on hold and then someone else got on the phone to tell me that she couldn't help. That she doesn't know how long it would take for me to receive my refund. Because I purchased it through a third party probably Priceline. Which I didn't. I called their location and it was rerouted to their customer service directly. She proceeded to be super rude by saying she couldn't provide any Info besides call my bank. I said, so when refunds are done, how long do they take to process? She proceeded with I don't know because I don't do that here. I asked, when they have training how long are they told to give information to customers? She cut me off and said I was being aggressive and in her words "now I see why you weren't given the vehicle on the reservation" then proceeded to hang up on me. I'll be showing up to the location to make a formal complaint.

    I rented a car from Alamo for a weekend road trip from LA to Monterey, choosing a vehicle…read morespecifically for comfort and safety (I have chronic back issues from a previous accident and needed a seat heater for support on long drives). Near Ventura, the tire blew out on a busy stretch of freeway. I called Alamo and was told to call 911--then the rep hung up on me. Thankfully, CHP roadside assistance helped install the spare, but when I called Alamo again, I was told I had to backtrack 20 miles to Burbank to swap the car because the spare wasn't freeway safe. The whole ordeal--waiting on the side of the freeway, coordinating with CHP, and then the drive to Burbank and vehicle exchange--added three hours to my trip. The replacement vehicle didn't have the seat heater I'd specifically booked, and I was told there were no alternatives. By the time I arrived in Monterey, my back was flaring up. I went to the Monterey Airport Alamo to request another swap, and the woman at the desk was incredibly rude. She said I needed a new reservation, refused to check availability at nearby Enterprise locations (same parent company), and offered zero help when I struggled to get through on the phone myself. She literally smirked and refused to assist me. After being passed between multiple departments--including roadside assistance, who told me they "don't help unless it's an emergency"--I finally spoke with a kind representative who secured a car at the very same location. When I returned, the original desk agent refused to acknowledge me, and her manager silently handed me keys. This wasted hours of my weekend, caused me physical pain, and made me feel like I was being blamed for a tire blowout I had no control over. I rented a car to avoid problems--not to spend my trip dealing with a customer service nightmare. The only helpful person was the last rep on the phone. Everyone else added stress to an already stressful situation. Never again with Alamo.

Cannery Row, Pacific Grove and all along the coastline with the top down. It doesn't get better than this! Finishing up in Carmel for lunch and getting lots of looks and attention made us smile. Once back, we told Carly of our journey and she showed us all the other cars for our next trip. You can't beat this experience for the price and the memories will never go away. Had a bit of a snag with the Camaro but it happens with old cars, the team told us options and how to manage and we were in great hands. We plan to return again to try the other cars and make it an annual thing! Great options, easy to do, pride and love put into the maintenance and appearance of the vehicles by this team. They were also super informative on how to operate the car, where to go and expectations while renting. Big shout out and thank you to Jeff for helping to make this a memorable weekend!!!
