So this not a review against the branch BUT the company. We rented a vehicle on July 20,2024 to go to a wedding in Waukesha, WI that started at 4:00 pm. Mind you Waukesha, WI is 2 hours NORTH of Naperville, IL, we used our own I-pass and all the tools per our I-pass were paid. Got home returned the vehicle and then a few days later got a "citation" from enterprise saying we missed 2 tolls in Markham, Il at 5:05pm and 10:20pm. HMM well that would be some kind of MAGIC that here we are at a wedding in WI and getting charged for tolls in Markham, IL at the same time. Called enterprise and spoke to 4 separate people, responded to the emails asking for proof and SENT them proof, time stamped photos from wedding for BOTH tolls, called the Illinois tollway authority and had an enterprise employee speak to them. The tollway authority has NO record of sending this citation nor any record of the vehicle traveling south to Markham,Illinois. We got off the tollway in Downers Grove and that was the last exit going north or south for the vehicle. Enterprise charged my card, so I called again, the employee said to escalate it and ask for a manager in the customer service dept. So I did the NASTY lady I spoke to kept talking over me, saying I wasn't telling the truth, saying she was the ONLY manager. What a SCAM, if they do this to 100 people a month that's $2800 because the toll was $3 (that we didn't go through) PLUS a $25 fee! SCAM!!! and the person answering the emails needs to check themselves, again I did nothing wrong we weren't even in the STATE and they keep saying that we somehow were in Markham, il @ 5:05pm and in Waukesha, WI @ 5:07pm! Prove it, we have photos of the car going north and south and getting off at Downers grove 55th street plaza. Shame on such a big company for NOT doing the right thing and SCAMMING customers who rent from them! Just got ANOTHER email from their customer relations " telling me that because I rented the car in Illinois I am guilty". Again check your info before you send emails and put it in writing! Another driver renting enterprise was at fault totaling my beautiful now not replaceable vehicle. My insurance company talked with Enterprise to allow me to have rental insurance rates which, although I gave them repeat business, they would no longer allow insurance rates beyond 30 days. I have so many mixed feelings about this rental place but maybe all car rental places are destined to be a not great experience. My husband got hit from behind and had to bring his car in for a repair, so we needed a rental, for a week, and it was covered by the other person's insurance. We called way ahead (weeks ahead) and they assured us we are covered for a similar vehicle to my husband's (a 4 door sedan). When we arrived, all they had for us was a sport utility/minivan and it was huge -- too wide to fit in our garage, and sitting too high up for his elderly mother to go to medical appts in. I'm not sure why a sedan is a difficult thing to rent to a customer, but they said they had none available and clean for us, even though their lot looked full of them. So we pointed to a Nissan Altima parked in front, seemingly clean (water was dripping off it), and they said, sure -- you can have that one but it's extra--above your insurance coverage. Weird. We took it, and we'll talk to the hitter's insurance company about covering the extra cost, but how is it that a larger vehicle is less money to rent? This is the exact same rental place that I had the exact same experience after someone also ran into me, 2 years ago, and my insurance was covering the rental. They also tried to nickel and dime me when I wanted a sedan instead of a minivan. I remember I was ready to cry because I had just been hit that same morning and had bad whiplash. However, this time, strangely, some man comes in and asked about renting a minivan and he was told none are available until after the holidays. Huh? Why not offer him the Kia minivan that looks like it could seat a lot of people? I just don't get the situation here. read more

This location is very nice and I've had nothing but positive experiences here. However, contracting the company online and by phone was frustrating. I was getting conflicting information, so I headed in to talk to someone in person.* This made for a much better experience, but obviously is not always convenient. *I originally booked online and got a confirmation. When I needed to make a change, I called their booking number and was speaking to someone in a huge call center in another country. The attendant could barely understand me no matter how slowly and clearly I spoke, and the background noise was distracting. I was given different prices than I had originally, which is why I decided to drive over and get everything cleared up. As I stated, this went very well and there were no problems from there on out. I am so disappointed in this branch. I believe they just changed management and customer service dropped. The car was an hour and 15 minutes late. When we got it it smelled like a dirty ash tray. I was in it for 5 minutes and couldn't stop coughing. I called to see what they could do and was told another branch had one and I could go there to get it. That branch was 20 minutes away. I couldn't spend another 40 minutes going to get it. There were no attempts to resolve the issue or solutions provided. We needed a truck for our family vacation. We were planning on helping my elderly parents with projects around their house and needed our tools. This is completely unacceptable and impacted our plan significantly. This is not service. It made life a lot harder. When I asked again if there were any additional solutions I was told, "no I did everything I can." read more

Me and my brother went to go pick up a car from this branch around 12:30 today, and the young gentleman that was working was very rude to us for no reason. we mistakenly went to this location instead of the other Naperville one. We walked in and told him we were here to pick up a car and he went off and said he does not have a car for us in a very rude tone he said that. Initially we were only allowed a specific type of car with our insurance but we were worried about her driving in the snow and ice and wanted a slightly bigger car for her. I rented a minivan from your organization for a family vacation the week of July 2-9.   While in rural Illinois (Waterloo, IL to be exact) the latch mechanism on the hatch failed and I couldn't shut the hatch (I had pulled over to get something from the back for one of the kids).  The van was full of four kids, two in car seats, two adults, and all our luggage.    It was 92 degrees and I was stranded with four little kids.    I could not shut the hatch and continue to drive.   I had to get three people to the MO airport to catch a flight.  I had to get myself and my two boys back to Naperville, 290 miles away.   And I was stuck.   Waterloo is 30 minutes from the St. Louis Mo Airport, where there was an Enterprise.   I called and the best they could do was to offer to send a tow truck.  This would do me no good since I had four little kids in the van.  Which is why I rented a van.   I asked, repeatedly, that they just call the Enterprise in St. Louis and have someone drive out and swap the broken van with one that was not broken.  No one would even offer to call.   So I had to walk I don't even know how far, to a "Rural King" store to buy zip ties to zip the hatch shut so I could get everyone where they needed to be.    No one at Enterprise when I dropped the van off was authorized to assist in making this mess right.    This was lazy.  This was not a difficult logistical problem.  You call a local Enterprise, someone drives out, we swap, we move on with our lives. Seriously, this was an easy fix.    I contacted the manager Dave Mahon (I may have the last name wrong, forgive me) twice and he never called me back.    The charge was refunded to my card so I thought the matter resolved, though the communication was terrible.    The charge was put back on my card on 7/19.   To say that I am displeased does not begin to cover my feelings on this subject.    Please make this right. read more

These guys are good. I had a long road trip to and from Columbus and wanted a car to spare my car the miles. Since I had a double upgrade coupon I went with Enterprise. I booked online and received a call from the local enterprise confirming the reservation since online you just hold the car. I asked the kid from Enterprise if he had a car with Sirius radio in it for the long ride. He said not at the moment but would look into it. An hour later he calls me back with the news he has such a car. He had me in a nice new Taurus with all the gizmos Ford has in their cars and it was a smooth ride all the way. I've never rented a car before but Enterprise made it almost painless. So I wanted a weekend getaway to Minnesota. I looked online and Enterprise had an incredible deal for a 3 day rental at $55. I had to jump on that. Customer service was very friendly but a little slow. The car I had reserved online was out picking up a customer, which in turn had me waiting in the lobby about 15 minutes. Not good when you're on a schedule to hit the road. There has to be a better way to handle that. When it was to time to return the car, it was no hassle. I signed off on my paperwork, received a credit back on my debit and was on my way. The next time I need to rent a car, I'll definitely be back to Enterprise. read more

I too had a ridiculous experience with this enterprise. I made a reservation online the day before because my work truck broke down. I got dropped off the next morning and my ride left. When I came into the store, they told me because im paying with a debit card, they need a utility bill. Why in the world would I carry my utility bills around with me? After telling the salesperson that I don't have a bill with me, he said he can't rent me a car. The other salesperson butted in and said "on our website our says it in fine print that you need utility bill if paying with debit card." Wouldn't you think they would put that in bigger print if it was such a big deal? Anyways I left and couldn't get a car all because I don't carry my utility bills with me. read more

This is extremely funny,I always book with enterprise at the corner of Ogden and Aurora in Naperville and today as a normal day, I booked my reservation on September 24th-2015 at cheaptickets.com and they put my reservation with this other enterprise at 1097 E. Ogden, So, I try calling them to get a pickup from my house and I'm about 5 miles away, I was on hold for about 10 minutes and nobody pick up the phone. So, I drove down there and park my van nearbye and walked a half a mile to their store. I get in there and one of the the customer service agents, she was chuckling with a customer on the side, didn't even bother to say, I'll be right with you or anything,but not at the counter and it was a while maybe a good for 5 minutes. So, I got up to the counter when they were done and she said to me, I need a major credit card, well, I have rented maybe 30 cars and the last 5 years and I always have my business debit card, I don't like credit cards because I don't want to pay the interest if I'm late on a payment so I figure it's better to just pay for it in full instead of owing the money,I rent at the other enterprise all the time with my same debit card. So ,I tell her, I don't have a credit card,she said,oh I'm sorry, without a major credit card, you cannot rent it and I told her I rent at the other one all the time ,she said ,sorry with a smile on her face, I cannot rent it to you I don't know, I'm not a part of the customer service team, but, in my opinion a debit card, you can take a huge out of someone's account. I think is better than a credit card but she didn't even offer me that and that's funny you know I listen to the. recording when you call them and they say we're here to help you, we are a family run business and we go out of our way for you well ,it didn't seem like they went out of their way for me considering I do rent at the other enterprise. I was in a rush to pick up a stranded family member so I did not have time to go someplace Else.I did receive some lies about how I Have to get insurance even though my personal insurance covers me...o.k. Basic sales tactics and lies,what really bugs me is that they had the NERVE to rent me a Nasty,dirty vehicle! Flew into Midway, but since I needed a car for a few weeks, went with a local rental. Very easy rental experience. Dramatically cheaper than renting at the airports, even when include cost of taxi from airport to the local car rental location. Staff is fast and professional; very accomodating. Only downsides are the extra time it takes compared to renting directly at airport, and Enterprise not being open on Sundays. read more

Always rented from this location without issue. Then, I needed to rent a car one day to take a friend to a serious medical appointment downstate. The staff here previously was superb...as I said...no issues. But when I recently went to pick up the car, I was met by a young woman sitting with her legs crossed in the chair, like a child, behind the counter. She quickly became loud, rude and obnoxious, even to her co-worker. I had to provide a current phone bill, which I happily turned over along with my DL and my business debit card. I have rented here 4 previous times with the same documentation. I am always on the road in 15 minutes. The young man who had been the person I had always dealt with before and was super nice, was trying to get my pick up sorted out. This girl kept interrupting, both of us, and kept saying that they have to "follow the rules" and I was not going to be able to rent the car. She demanded a major credit card. I explained to her that I always "followed the rules" and brought everything as required per their specifications. As I said, never had a problem. She refused to allow her co-worker assist me and just kept yelling. It's as if this girl has a personal issue with customers and takes it upon herself to pick and choose who she will harass that day. She can't be in a position of management or authority - if she is then Enterprise made a horrible mistake hiring her. The guy was truly trying to work it out as he always has before but this girl wouldn't shut up her loud talking. Then, two suits walked in...execs from the corporate office I'm guessing. Both employees immediately stopped talking to me and cut me off mid-sentence to shake hands with the suits. I refused further assistance. I went to another company and they happily rented me a car with the same docs as I had handed to this place multiple times. If you are that willing to let a regular, return customer walk out, then we won't be back. And we will share our experience of your poor service so the execs higher up than the two that were there that day see it. To the girl behind the counter: Try to sit like an adult in your chair behind the counter. Having your legs crossed like a teenager in a professional setting and using your angry voice made you look a petulant child. And check your ego at the door -customers pay your salary. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST car rental in the world! After using this Enterprise location at 1097 E Ogden, Naperville twice I find that the cars are NOT ready when I arrive, after having made a reservation ahead of time and I don't get the car I reserved when it finally does arrive. This latest time, I drove to the alternate site to pick up my car and got a dirty car with 1/4 tank of gas. The car was so dirty, they offered to wash it but who wants to wait yet longer for the car that is already over 1/2 hour late? The ignition key was broken in 1/2 and they told me to simply use the extra key! Upon returning the car, I received a call the next day to ask how I planned on paying for the damage to the right bumper. I did no damage to the bumper! They never did walk the car to assess the damage beforehand and probably would not have seen it under the filth on the car! Now they want me to be responsible for damage that someone else did to this car. I will NEVER use this location with it's inept employees or for that matter Enterprise again. People, deal with a more reputable car rental agency and save both time and money! read more

I'm a frequent business traveler. This is a reliable location with good service. Enterprise is my first choice for car rentals. Just a note to the 1 star reviewers. They appear not to know the limitations of paying with a debit card. As for the person who had their rental re-possessed, who are you trying to fool here? Pay your bill and your car won't be re-possessed. My only problem with this location is that sometimes stock is low. I have never failed to get a free upgrade in those instances. No comparison to Hertz. Much better bang for the buck. read more

I have rented at this office 3 ties in the past six weeks. The first two times I was the one renting and driving, the 3rd time, due to an arm injury my wife was. The agents that assisted us each time, were very kind and helped in any way they could. They go out of their way to serve you and make your experience the best possible! I was charged twice for a rental that my dealer was paying for and the dealer was even looking for the bill. Then they tried to charge me for insurance that was mis represented and I did not buy. I had to change cars 2 times and Tyler made it so simple, I literally walked in and picked out the car i wanted signed a paper a left.
