Great experience!! The man who works at the front is so professional and courteous. They check in before you rent your car to see what you're looking for and they had a few excellent options for me to choose from. They are closed from 12-1 which I didn't realize. I rented a car here while my car was being repaired after a hit and run. What could be an annoying/somewhat stressful situation was made very easy and enjoyable by Asia and the other staff here who set me up with a nice rental and called me to make sure I was happy with it. So I'm in California from out of town, to take my sons to the beach at Newport. My vehicle developed a problem and I had to drop it at a shop for repair. The shop referred me to enterprise who came and picked me and my sons up so we could rent a car and get to the beach. The rental took a turn when I tried to pay with a Business Debit Card. I was told that Enterprise would not take a debit card from an out of state renter unless I could show a return plane ticket to Las Vegas. Well, you just picked me up from the auto shop, so you know I drove here and don't have a plane ticket to show you. Never mind that I showed them the 3 business accounts that I have and there was over 20 thousand dollars in the accounts combined. What a disappointment. I understand that Enterprise is family owned, maybe they should consider that families travel and when they do, sometimes bad things occur when they travel, like a vehicle breaking down. It would've been nice to have my sons on the beach instead of sitting inside a repair shop wondering what time the car will be finished and whether we will get to the beach on our last day of travel. The staff was nice, however a manager should be able to make the final decision as to whether or not a rental should be made and a policy overridden. You know I'm here on vacation, and you know the car I drove broke down since you picked me up after the service manager called to have me and my sons picked up. Avis, who I have a business account with, takes debit cards. They do a soft credit inquiry in order to determine if they can rent to you. Perhaps that's something enterprise should look into. WARNING. Please Read. Dishonest. Scammers. AVOID! I was given a free rental car by Sterling BMW because my car was being serviced next door. After a week I returned the Car to Enterprise. About a month later Enterprise contacted me and said that I must pay for the rental car because Sterling will only pay for one day. I told enterprise that it was not my problem and they need to discuss it with Sterling BMW. Enterprise obviously has no integrity so they charged my credit card anyway. I called up my credit card company and successfully disputed the full amount. I paid nothing. $0 : ) Thankfully my bank sided with me and saw though their fraud. read more

I came in due to having my bmw dropped next door and I had a reservation through my insurance. To my surprise, my reservation was actually set in Tustin which is my ins fault. Enterprise was out of cars so they had a truck delivered, only after a short wait, I was going to be on my way. I was a little irritated by that time but it was out of my control so just calmed down and waited. I wanted to point out the great customer service and red carpet feeling I got next. The blond female, I'm terrible at names, was super nice and told me to come back at 5 and she'd switch out the truck for a bmw (which is what I dropped off at Sterling) which made me really happy since I have to commute to USC each day; a truck would be gas hoggy. ATTENTION MANAGER OF THIS POORLY RAN BUSINESS!!!!! I rented a car from you 9/14/17! 2 years ago, used the rental between 12pm and returned it at 3pm, parked it in the parking lot of enterprise gave the keys checked out and picked up my car at the bmw dealer next door and thought I was OK. Following week I get a Newport Beach ticket saying a parked my rental vehicle on a no parking zone at 6 am the NEXT MORNING AFTER I RETURNED THE CAR! YES THE FOLLOWING DAY! Apparently they didn't take the car out of my name yet and parked it on the red curb. Didn't think it was a big deal called enterprise they said they would handle it and it was their fault because of there small parking lot, they had to park a few cars there and the get tickets "all the time". It has been 2 years now YES 2 years and here I am calling them every 6 months telling them I am still getting this ticket with late fees added on in my mail box. Last person I spoke to which was 6 months ago promised me it would be handled and today I get a ticket saying that the ticket has GONE TO COLLECTIONS AND IS ON MY CREDIT SCORE. A hit-and-run driver crashed into my husband's high-end car and we needed a rental car through State Farm, who is contracted with Enterprise. Since this is the branch near our home, we decided to go with them. After talking to the State Farm claims adjuster, we got a call from Reed at Enterprise within minutes, which seemed promising. He asked when we needed the car, and we said the next day. Then we got into a detailed discussion with him about car type. He offered us a BMW 3-series or an SUV at the State Farm rate, not indicating that there was any problem with availability. We made a 9am appointment to pick up the car the next morning. We showed up at 9am, not having heard anything further from Enterprise. The car offered to my husband, surprisingly after our detailed discussion with Reed, was a damaged Chevy Impala. We said no to that, and after a bunch of misquotes on the rate Reed had given us, they consented to let us come back and pick up a BMW SUV which was coming in. They had no other cars on the lot, so obviously, supply was a problem, again, something that Reed had not indicated. So I came to pick up my husband again, having just dropped him off. We returned a couple of hours later, and the BMW SUV was not drivable, having problems with a gas cap cover that was stuck and various non-working lights. Again, Enterprise did not call us in advance to tell us of this. They had told us the car was ready. Again, I had to go back and pick up my husband. Now, we have no car. They are supposedly looking for one, but pretty sure that will come to nothing. I thought Enterprise was a well-run company. What I can tell you is that their car stock is poorly kept. They do not communicate with customers, seemingly unconcerned about how many times you have to come back for faulty cars. Who needs this? They made a bad situation for us so much worse, making us spend more time on the phone with State Farm. And Reed just totally disappeared, unanswerable for all his promises which were obviously just window dressing for a poorly run Enterprise branch. Avoid this place if you value your time or if you want a decent, operating car. read more

Fantastic customer service. Conveniently located on PCH, this Enterprise rental location is efficient and affordable. I decided on a whim to rent a cargo van for 24 hours to pick up a bunch of furniture for my new apartment. I called Enterprise, and within a few minutes reserved a van, and picked it up 20 minutes later. Tyler was awesome and made the rental process fast and easy. In under 10 minutes at Enterprise, we were driving away in the van. The cargo van I rented was in great condition and the perfect size for moving furniture. It was also very affordable at $65/day. The return process was also fast and simple, and Enterprise was even courteous enough to give us a complimentary ride home. I will definitely come to this Enterprise location for all of my future rental vehicle needs. read more

BIG THANK YOU TO TOMMY W. !!!!!!! I've rented from here before my first time was AWFUL however that's neither here nor there. I tried it out again because let's face it it's within walking distance of my job, I made my reservation and although they were not able to accommodate the weekend special for me (because I didn't reserve a car until super late in the day and last minute)they offered me a good rate with an awesome car. I was very reluctant to get Enterprises Insurance that they offer for $15 a day (I was trying to stay in budget ) but Tommy my Enterprise associate convinced me to get it even after an argument with my boyfriend and attitude I gave him he gave me great customer service and a discount for my troubles. It was THE BEST thing he could have convinced me to do because this morning when I got to the car there was a huge dent and a couple straches on the passenger door. I freaked out for a couple minutes but then remembered and realized that I got the insurance that Tommy suggested. Upon returning the car I was nervous on what they would say to me or how they would react but of course as I walked in I was greeted by Josh W. with a smile and hello, I let him know what happened and he checked it out. I was sent by BMW for a loaner. The dealer was charged over 60 bucks a day for a 30k plus mile Hyundai that was DISGUSTING on the inside. The guy at the front desk was nice enough but the vehicle was absolute garbage. If this is representative of their fleet at this location, then avoid it at all costs! !! Today I rented a car there because mine was being worked on at Elite MB on Old Newport Blvd. Dylan, was there had my car ready, explained everything and off I went. Well, 5 hours later, got a call from Bobby at Elite, my car was ready to pick up. Drove to Elite and said my car was ready and Dylan said that was the shortest rental he knew. Smooth, easy and met my expectations. We dropped off a rental car here today, and got a ride back to the hotel from a guy there named Joseph. He was relaxed, friendly and interesting to talk to, and made our ride back to the hotel fun, easy, and efficient! They have a good selection of cars and they let you take a look around to pick a car. Before they tack on an extra $28/day, remember that you can use your current car insurance to insure your car rental. They do have a lower insurance package, so if you want to pay for theirs, ask about your options. read more

I believe this is the same enterprise that is located in the Sterling BMW center. I just got my car service at Sterling and they offered me a complimentary rent a car from enterprise to get me through my day. When I walked in, the consultant was friendly, but she was quick to get me out of there, which in sometimes that is not always a good thing. She walked me to my car, that was dirty and unwashed. Normally the rep would walk around the car with you to check for any damages on the vehicle so that you would not be liable and she failed to do so. She did ask me if I wanted coverage and I said no, she said sign here, here and here and went off her merry way. I had the car for about 2 days. The next thing I know this week, I was charge $48.00 on my credit card account. Called them to ask what happen and she said oh you must've signed up for the coverage. I told her I wasn't even explained what the coverage was and the girl just asked me whether or not I wanted it. Before even considering that possibility she says no its not possible the girl that worked with you is known to be very thorough. She didn't even seem to pause to apologize, She said she would need to look for the contract and call me back and she still has not. I've rented through other enterprises prior to this and they were great - apparently just don't come to this one. I probably won't get my car serviced at Sterling anymore either so I won't have to encounter these obstacles again. read more

This location isn't doing you any favors in its understaffed model of zero service. Appreciate the reply from enterprise. Suggest you have cars ready to go between the house of 7 to 9 given you are next to multiple car dealers who have customers who appear every day to get loaners in addition to your regular business. To fail to plan for this in terms of product and staff is just an operator cutting corners vs putting your service first Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the response. I have no interest to add any more feedback to help enterprise get their operation working at this location. I suggest that you as management send secret shoppers in during the time frame I mentioned. Re read your entirety of yelp reviews. And then fix things. I don't understand why this particular location has a bad rep. I had an excellent experience here. My only complaint would be that there seems to be a lack of communication between Enterprise corporate and the individual branches. There were a few price discrepancies between what I was quoted when I made my reservation at corporate and when I went to pick up the car at this branch. However, they were MORE than understanding and waived every fee that was in question. Seriously they were so cool about it. My car was not only clean, but brand new. It was such a fun little car. Everyone here was excellent and extremely friendly and professional. I have to rent a car every month for work and I'll certainly be using this branch of Enterprise again. I had charges in the hundreds of dollars that were unauthorized put on my card and then spent days getting it properly credited back, the cars given to me have on a couple of occasions been dirty amongst other things and the list goes on. read more

First time, I rented a car at this place...the car was not available which I previously reserved, want me to add more $$ for an upgrade so took about an a hour to drive a car out..I noticed other customers were having the same problems...the car interiors are dirty, badly stains in all three cars I checked even after a car washed...more long waits when you return the car, their courtesy pick up or drop off takes about 1 hour wait or longer,,again I noticed other customers are complaining too,so never again ......I'm renting at Thrifty's. Recently had service done at Sterling and was offered a rental car. The service from the start was impressive and even though they didn't have enough cars due to the business from the dealership, my agent, Stephen {not sure on the spelling} remained calm and positive through the whole ordeal even when one customer was being needy. I have a toddler. If we can handle waiting for a car, so can you dude. They offered to hold onto my carseat while I waited for a car and even took it behind the desk for me. They had a BMW ready within about 10 minutes and when I arrived they had it waiting for me and my carseat was ready for me to strap in. When I returned the car, Stephen walked out to greet me, took care of the paperwork and walked my carseat over to the dealership. He really went above and beyond and I was truly impressed how he kept his cool in such a stressful situation. read more

When we arrived this location there were three people in line. When I got to the front of the line the manager took a phone call and waived someone else over to help after a few minutes. This location was out of cars. I asked if they had cars at other locations and they looked at me like I had three heads! "Oh I don't know, you would have to check that I don't have access to their inventory." Okkkaaayyy, I guess I'll call them... I was surprised. I've rented with Enterprise before and if they didn't have a car available, they would offer to call another location! And then they offered to drive us to that location so that we could rent the car! My mind is blown at their complete lack of interest in helping us rent a car. So we called Budget, who not only had cars, but called us back to follow up and make sure they had our details correct. My brother just moved to the area so I'll be coming in and out of Newport to rent cars often when I come to visit, and this will not be where I go to rent a car. It's too bad; they lost a customer who would have come back more than once. read more

Excellent customer service! People are polite, accomodating, courteous and considerate. Renting a car here is a breeze and the cars are really nice. I had rented a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder and our road trip to Vegas was very convenient, comfortable and fun considering we had an 84-year old man traveling with us with his walker, luggage and what not- everything fits in the car and knowing that we got accident protection and all, makes a good car-rental experience for all of us. The BMW dealer in Newport Beach uses Enterprise Rent a car to help with there loner cars when they run out, after giving my new BMW to the dealer I walked over to Enterprise because the dealer had no cars of their own to give out. I told them that the dealer sent me over to get a car. I filled out the paperwork and they pulled up a Toyota Rave 4, I walked outside to find the worst rental car I have ever seen at a rental car company. I looked at the agent as if to say"IS THIS A JOKE" but he just looked back at me and smiled. I was now in a tough spot now being short on time because I had to be somewhere in just a few hours and I had to pick up my wife at work in long beach. I took a look back in their lot and saw many cars of much higher quality than the one they were tiring to push on me but I had no time to waist. I walked around the car and took pics and a video just to be sure they were not going to try to charge me for the poor condition of this POS car. Let me summarizes the condition of this car. 30,896 miles, scratches, small dents, dirt, worn out seats with stains throughout the front and back, hole in the carpet where your foot would rest under the throttle. That is just the quick overview it was worst than that. I smiled at the agent and drove off. The car drove good, I went home to try to get a quick bite to eat because I had no lunch and it was getting late. I had no time to change to get ready for my appointment so I drove to pick up my wife at work and when she saw the car her words were, "was ok to sit on the seat with her good clothe?" I smile at her and said the back is just as bad. On the way home I told her the story and said we were lucky to have something to drive to our appointment. "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING" The next day before my car was done I showed the rental car to a few friends and without exception everybody I showed the car to couldn't believe that the dealer approved this car for their customers and that Enterprise had cars like that on their lot. I took the car back to Enterprise and told them, "they should be embarrassed to let that car out for people to use." Enterprise used to be my favorite rental car company, NOT NOW! read more

I dropped my 740i off at Sterling BMW and was directed to get a rental car at Enterprise next door. The counter agent was terrific. He rented me a 430i convertible which initially seem fine, until I started to drive the car. To start - the car was dirty, both inside and out, with trash on the floor of the backseat. But the biggest problem was the inability to properly close the trunk. Because the power trunk was broken, you couldn't lock it or open the convertible top. When the girl walked me around the car prior to Initially driving off of their lot, I told her the trunk wasn't closing properly, she seemed to ignore my comment. Having the signal display in the vehicle and an inability to open the top should warrant the vehicle to be taken next door to BMW to be repaired. read more

Horrible service, cars are always dirty, smelly and don't have gas. This is my 5th time I have rented a vehicle through enterprise within the last 2 months and they contunue to fail. It's a shame a business like this operates and continues to do business this way. My purse smells, my briefcase smells and I am disgusted by how I was advised that if I want another car it will be a 45 minute wait. I will never rent through them again. read more

The people were nice, but the car was so dirty. Inside and out. There was grass clippings in the back seat area and the trunk area. There was food crumbs everywhere and dirty finger prints on everything. It also smelled like a farm had been living in it. It was rented by Sterling BMW. Friendly staff, but my car sucked. $45 a day and no blue tooth, cigarette lighter didn't work so I couldn't use my car charger and had to stop at a gas station mid road trip to buy a $20 charging cord to plug into charging outlet. Car was missing a hub cap and they had no parking so I had to park in neighborhood up the street and they picked me up. I was so nervous I'd get towed but luckily I didn't. Only positive was I forgot to fill up with gas when returning and instead of $6 a gallon he just charged me $3 read more

I had my car serviced at Sterling BMW and got the complementary rental from this place as usual. Jimmy walked me through the process. When he asked me if I need additional coverage I said no I don't need any coverage, and he asked me to sign here, here, and there. A few days after I saw a credit card charge from them. Turn out it was for Personal Accident Protection, Personal Accident Insurance, and Damage Waiver which I clearly declined. The guy on the phone is very rude during all the conversation. He insisted that Jimmy is very through and it is impossible for him to make this mistake. I just want to warn other customers who go to this place to make sure you ask them to explain every line item on their paperwork and the meaning of each signature, even if you have verbally declined their additional coverage. read more
