Rented from the Oak Lawn, IL location and unfortunately had a very poor experience. Shortly after leaving the lot, warning messages appeared for "low key fob battery" and "change oil soon." The Dodge Durango later overheated and leaked fluid into my driveway, requiring a tow and vehicle exchange while I was out of town. Thankfully, the Enterprise team in Lee's Summit, MO was extremely helpful and accommodating during the exchange process. What was most disappointing was the lack of follow-up and accountability from the Oak Lawn location. After returning the replacement vehicle, I was immediately met with accusations about damage to the exchange vehicle instead of any acknowledgment or concern about the original Durango overheating. I ultimately had to coordinate communication between branches myself to help resolve the issue. Problems happen, but customer service and accountability matter. Oak Lawn needs improvement in communication, professionalism, and handling customer concerns -- especially when safety and vehicle maintenance issues are involved. read more

If I could I rate it "0" I WOULD. I called and got confirmation of a car rental from location on Southwest hwy. My mother is dying in hospital 70 miles away. I rented car to see her and talk to her doctor. This location was to pick me up to go to office and complete paperwork. I was told to call at 10am for noon pickup. I did and they said they were on their way. They never showed up or even called. Now they're lying saying there was no confirmation. Why is it I have number they gave me. My mother did not have a ride back to the house after dropping off her car and they offered her a ride. Then told her to get off on 71st and Pulaski that she would have to walk or take the bus from there. My mother is 60. We were so upset my mother walked 12 blocks to get home because no buses came. She tried to tell us it was okay. It is not okay, it was 25 degrees out. They did not tell her they would not take her home all the way. It's a 10-minute drive from the location. She also received a notice for a speed citation, and it said they deducted 25 from her account. We pulled up the notice and it said it was a warning NO PAYMENT NEEDED. Stay away! I rented a car in advance because I had to take my car in to a repair shop and needed a way to get to work. A few minutes before my rental was due to start I was walking to the location to pick up the rental car, and they called to inform me they had no cars for me, so I calmly asked the woman "well what am I supposed to do?" She told me to hang on and then hung up on me. I called them back and have been waiting for someone to answer for the past twenty minutes! The phone menu keeps repeating "We simply treat our customers the way they should be treated". They claim they're a "family-owned business in a very corporate world" but they're NOT family owned they're a subsidiary of Enterprise Holdings Inc. Update 10 months after disputing toll charges that occurred 2 weeks after I returned the car. I resolved one credit card and got the charges removed. I rented a car Dec 8 2021. It took until May 26th 2022 to remove the erroneous charges off one card. Apparently they went through my profile and charged a different credit card on May 26th 2022 immediately after removing the charges from the card I used to rent the car with. I have filed a case with the Federal Trade Commission and emailed Christine Taylor current CEO of Entertrpise rental car. Check your credit card history for fraud when renting with Enterprise is all I can recommend and if you find Fraudulent charges report it. I work too hard for my money to give it away. This location is horrible and they do not give Military discounts as advertised. Most locations do give Military discounts with valid ID being presented, not this location. read more

The rental was just returning from the car wash when we arrived. However, the interior was stained and filthy. We had to clean the seats, ourselves, with fabric cleaner AND the smell of marijuana was powerful. Both of those, I could deal with. It's just a rental while our car was being repaired. But what was totally unprofessional was this: Never, at any time, did they explain that the extra insurance you get was billed to us, daily. I would never have chosen it, if she explained that. I believed it was a one time fee. I am now down $500! My husband was with me and he also never heard that funny but important detail. We aren't dishonest people and would not complain if there's any chance we simply didn't hear her. I truly believe that they deliberately omit explaining that important detail. read more

I recently rented a full size sedan for my family and I to go to Wisconsin Dells for a few days. I have rented from this enterprise in the past and have never had sub-par service. This most recent trip I just wanted to say a big thanks to Antonio for great customer service. He was super friendly and let me pick from 2 same sized vehicles they had. All the people working there at the time I was in were all really friendly smiling faces! If you're renting a vehicle for whatever reason this would be the place to go. I previously have rented at this place with no problems, HOWEVER this time was totally different and unexpected. I reserved a 15 passenger van in my name for 7/11/19. I was told THE DAY BEFORE I had to come in person to pick up the vehicle. Due to my work schedule I was not going to be able to appear in person. They told me the name couldn't be modified for someone else to pick up the vehicle. I reached out to corporate and CORPORATE created an ENTIRE NEW reservation for my mom so she can pick up the van since the name change couldn't be modified on my reservation. WELL fast forward the day of the pick up, William Wells and his sorry azz manager Alexander ALLAM denied my 78 year mother from picking picking up the vehicle AFTER corporate reserved it for her!!! WILLIAM WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND CONTROLLING. I reached out to other enterprises and they saw the existing reservation and called to the branch where WILLIAM slandered my family's name!!! Alexander ALLAM was actually at one of the branches when I called and he advised them to not rent to us as well..THIS HAS BEEN ESCALATED TO HIGHER MANAGEMENT... CORPORATE says they have never seen this happen and is very apologetic. WILLIAM response was Corporate doesn't mean anything to him. The only corporate he looks us to is ALEXANDER ALLAM!!! This particular Enterprise was great. I had visited another in Evergreen Park on Western and I was so very disappointed by their customer service. I will never ever go there again. This Enterprise in Oak Lawn was courteous, considerate, friendly, and efficient. I was in and out in minutes and when I returned the car, they were the same. I will be going there next time I need to rent a car. They were so full there were no cars on the lot, we were taking them as soon as they came back from oil change and cleaning. A family member recently rented a car for our family trip. Exiting Enterprise we realize there is a nail in the tire. Had to take car to Firestone and tire had to be replaced. As we travel, we notice message from dash display, low air in another tire. We continue to put air in tire, but it seems to have a slow leak. We called Enterprise in Oak Lawn and spoke to Adam., because we are now in another state. We are told to take the car to any Enterprise in that state to exchange it. Therefore, we stop at the Enterprise in Atlanta, GA on Capital Ave. There we are told by Travis, there are no other vehicles to trade nor any other nearby Enterprises has vehicles. We are also told, by Travis, to drive the car with the slow leak to Atlanta Airport Enterprise. It was not guaranteed that they would have a vehicle. How dangerous and time consuming that would have been. Next, we were told to call roadside assistance, which was not much help(spoke with 3 different people:Barbara, Leondra, and don't remember other person's name). Travis, later stated customers would be returning cars. We continue to see cars being returned and ask about them, but we are told they are registered to others, already. Finally, we receive a car that is somewhat smaller than our previous rental. We seem not to have any other choice, so we take it. Overall, this ordeal lasted for about 3 hours, no one seemed to care. Didn't ask how we were doing, no offer of water or anything. We return from our trip and return the car to Oak Lawn, IL. Shelby states 15-20% off. We disagreed due to the trouble endured so, we speak with Rashaunah, the asst. manager who was willing to give a little more off the total. read more

The most frustrating business practice in their shop- answering phone calls ahead of the customers waiting in line- please let these calls queue up in voicemail for a time when you are slower. read more

This place is shady as hell!! My son rented a car. He works Monday through Friday . On Sunday night he dropped it off back in their lot. Monday morning I went there with the keys. ( the lot on that morning was PACKED)The guy TOOK the keys.. said he'd be right back.. went outside. I'm SURE he went to go check the vehicle. He comes back and says I'm good to go. FOUR hours later they call my son and say there's now damage on the vehicle!!! WTF!! We're supposed to be responsible for it ALL day long in THEIR lot?? I called the damage center.. told her what happened and told her they said they'd be checking cameras. Here I'm thinking .. GOOD! Then they'll see who actually damaged it. NOPE. We get a bill this morning saying WE owe $500 for damages!! We didn't even see the camera footage PROVING it wasn't our fault!! I'm calling total BS. This is NOT how a multimillion dollar company should treat its customers.. just despicable. I'm SO dissatisfied and disappointed in this company. I'll never rent from them again read more

As an insurance provider, I have referred countless customers to this company during their claims and have never had a single complaint about your business practices until right now. My insured was involved in an accident last Thursday 02/11/2016. As his agent, I set up his claim and the reservation through Enterprise. My customers all carry rental car coverage comparable to their insured vehicle, so in this case, $25/600 was more than adequate coverage for the coupe I have insured in this claim. Only AFTER he arrived to pick up his rental vehicle was it explained to him that the only vehicles available on the lot for rent were mid or full sized cars, both of which would put him above his aggregate. Rather than adjust the price for our customer, they simply advised that any "overages" would be his responsibility and he was sent home with a Jeep Compass for $29/per day "+$6 (I assume for taxes/fees)" not before he was ensured that he received a "discounted rate" for the SUV. The estimated completion date of my insured's vehicle is 02/21/2016 which means every day for 10 days, he is paying $10 out of his own pocket because the place that people go to rent cars... didn't have any cars to rent? Just wondering why Enterprise thinks that's a fair business practice? I don't go to Popeye's Chicken and hear "sorry, we're out of chicken," so why am I going to Enterprise-Rent-A-Car and hearing "sorry, we're out of cars," and why are you punishing your own customers for your company's lack of supply? Are you willing to lose potential repeat business and an entire insurance agent's book of business over a measly hundred bucks? read more

Whatever your situation is , DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! This people are very nice in the beginning but after you return the car the deduct money from the account you provided without previous authorization or valid reason. I received a call from a guy named Matt after weeks of returning the rental car saying he was trying to contact me for several days which is a lie. When I asked what was the problem, he responded that I had a pending balance of $99 for additional coverage they added to the car (insurance to cover vehicle which was paid off prior to returning the vehicle) I explained him that that wasn't accurate and he said he wasn't calling to have an argument with me and I had until the end of the day to pay off the balance. I explained that his call was unexpected and he needed to give me more time. He said NO ... I went into my bank account to check my balance and I noticed that as I was speaking to this asshole , he processed a payment for $99 from my debit card!!! I hang up and called my bank , luckily they will refund the money to me but I just couldn't believe what this people did to me. That money was to pay my coming up mortgage and they put me trough a hardship without caring even worse without my permission. That is not they way you treat customers. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. DO NO PROVIDE ANY CREDIT CARDS to Enterprise. I am in the process of submitting a complaint to State's attorney as advised by my bank if anyone else wants to join contact me. read more
