This location is the best! The employees here are consistently across the board, friendly and helpful. I even got upgraded from an economy car to a hybrid brand new minivan. It was fun to try this vehicle out and it had a great gas mileage. I ended up having to use the car for a few extra days and the process was so simple because every day they would send me a text message asking me if I wanted to modify my rental. It instantly calculated my new charges and I was set and I didn't have to worry about constantly changing the date of my return . My husband and I don't have a car so we rent quite often to go on trips and explore Oregon. We had no issues at our previous enterprise location where we use to live. These last two times at this location it seems we have had problem after problem. This last time it was a bit annoying because they only had electric cars for me to choose from. My husband and I are all about electric but where we were going there was only one electric charger. I felt bad for the staff member who helped us because she was very sweet but having only electric is unacceptable. I know depending on what class you reserve you will have options to choose from between make and model but an electric and gas car are two different things. There are gas stations everywhere but not everywhere have electric chargers. Most electric cars are not like Tesla that have purposely built their own chargers in a lot of areas. After a back and forth they did have a solution for me. They had a lower class car that was gas. It was smaller than what I had reserved but luckily my family members where there and they said the space in the back was good for them. I never "argue" to try and get a deal. I worked in customer service for 13 years and know that feeling. All I wanted was a solution. On top of the car option they gave me they said they would offer a discount so I could have the price that car should be and not pay for the mid size class price. Well just got the bill and there was no discount and I got charged more than I would have paid for the mid size car. This just makes me happy that my husband and I decided to get a car again and should be getting it next month. read more

After receiving a priority reservation through liberty mutual my wife was told her drivers license e didn't feel right and lower level people were required to provide more information to rent at this particular location. The policies are so weird and rules changes all the time based on what is convenient for them .If you are even slightly late in picking up your car , they would let someone else have your reservation , what even is the point of reserving then ?If you can`t do drop offs post a certain time , due to the ongoing issues in the city, then the charges for the next day should not be on the customer , since we got their on time and they closed their premises earlier. This seems unfair as a customer to pay for an extra day , because of the policies that Enterprise changed .We have rented from here a lot and every time there has been some concern , which kind of makes me wonder why wouldn`t they change policies to better accommodate customers.The Employees are nice and friendly and try their best to help navigate the difficult situation but there is only so much they could do. read more

What an awful company. I have used them a few time and each and every time it's a new awful. I went to rent a car, got enterprises insurance, they took money out of my bank account for it. And when I went to pick up the car I was told I need privet car insurance. I said I don't own a car hence why I am renting a car. "Oh you'll need your own insurance plus ours to rent a car." Both they never told me. Plus I told them they took money out of my bank and they said no they didnt. After showing them they said oh that's a 3rd party BS. The best customer service I've had on my trip to Oregon, hands down! Dalton and the team here gave me great recommendations on where to travel, maps, routes, hiking info (even gave me a heads up on closed areas and alternate scenic routes) and really did an incredible job at helping me get the right car for my trip. I rented a Prius and with their recommendations, went to the coast and Multonomah Falls with only a half tank! HALF A TANK! They recommended upgrading from one car to Prius and it was the beeeest advice.Saved me so much in fuel and had a blast! When I called in about a few questions, they troubleshooted and helped me fast! I had questions about gas and car insurance, and they solved it in a friendly and helpful way. I've had excellent service with these guys. They have a variety of cars (domestic, foreign, AWD, FWD, RWD), and the vehicles are always clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I've noticed that sometimes the gas tank is at half full. If you ask them, they will fill up for you, or make sure it's full before you get there. Sometimes prices are better if you reserve through the website. Excellent service, they always follow up after you return the car. read more

I booked a reservation weeks in advance for Sunday pickup and triple-checked my reservation with the person on the phone. On the day I arrived, they said "traffic is too bad" and despite pre-arranged pickup time, refused to pick me up. I was traveling with a school group, and without our rental car, the event was severely dampened and the kids missed out on a lot. I was frustrated but polite. Having spent years working on insurance, I never raised my voice and even said "I know this isn't your fault, but how can you fix it." To top it off, once she said this, she hung up. When we decided to rent a car to go to Tilamook from Portland, we expected nothing great from Enterprise. We got there early before the opened time, 8am, and to expect a line out the door. But absolutely not, there was no line, and they even opened early! The staff was super nice and attentive. We got to pick our car, inspected, and drove off within 15 min. Although during our rental, there was an issue with a leak, we called the enterprise number, and someone named Andrew, picked up and helped us and even gave us a discount when we didn't ask for one. You know, I don't even particularly like Enterprise as a brand, but I like this particular downtown location. The staff is friendly and really helpful - and fast. Enterprise run weekend deals through Yelp apparently and just in general I've found it really convenient to have a car for a few days in PDX or for said weekender (#adventure #coachella #wanderlust #livelovelaugh #explorePDX) for ~$100 bucks give or take. The staff here has always leveled with me and never tried to upsell me. In fact, they even gave me a complimentary upgrade I used on a long trip to divorce court. Long story, long drive. Bottom line though, when your entire life's dreams are broken and burning it's nice to have in-dash-GPS and a back-up cam. On all the complimentary rides I've gotten after turning in here, I've also always been able to exchange healthy jokes about dead bodies and sex toys being left in the trunk with the drivers. I used to love this place but things change when people change, in this case not for the better. A lot of people that used to work there are no longer there or have transferred to a different location. One of the benefits that sets enterprise apart is their free pick up and drop off. I always take advantage of this. When I returned the car, they guy just blatantly said im the only one working today and I can drop you off. In the past, I was offered a credit up to $10 for an uber. The second time, I called to reschedule my pickup 4 hours in advance and spoke to Jessica. She told me the last pickup was at 1 so I had to rearrange my plans based on what she said was the deadline. I waited for 30 mins and called and Jessica tells me they are on their way. One thing I hate are businesses who lie and dont take responsibility for their mistakes. We all make mistakes, own up to it. They were not on their way because I know how long it takes to get to my place and I spoke with the driver who told me they just left... BUSTED! So they missed it. After I rearrange my plans, I am now late ... I tried to speak to the manager Andrew and instead of making it right and being empathetic to what his employee caused me, all he did was defend these actions and tell me that I should schedule 24 hours in advance. WOW! I've never had that experience in this branch before. We as customers have to pay the consequences if we make mistakes (late return, damage car, gas not full etc) ....THE PENDULUM SWINGS BOTHWAYS! I dont think this represents enterprise as a whole but enterprise needs to look at the people running the show in this branch coz I swear I have had so much better experience. Enterprise ruined my trip to Portland Oregon. I had my wallet stolen and I didn't have my physical license. Enterprise is my "go to" for car rentals. I reserved a car well in advance. I walked to the location to pickup my car and the staff was RUDE to me. they didn't empathize with my situation. If I were the manager I would have rented the car to a loyal customer. I feel for you if you're forced to go here because of your insurance. This group of guys are the most inconsiderate, incompetent fools I've dealt with in the rental business. I've had my fair share of rental cars and this is by far the worst. They represent the worst of Portland customer service. We came without a reservation, ours was down the street on E Burnside. Not a problem he said, just give us a few minutes to clean one our for you - a sigh of relief. This would be a lot easier that imagined. Not so. After 20 minutes of waiting and no indication of telling anyone. We ask him (after serving a few other people) where we stood. He said that we had no reservation and he needs to take care of all the other customers before he thinks about presenting us with an option. What the hell? How can you lie to us about an arbitrary 20 minute wait if you haven't done anything to support the claim. We could have been across town at the RIGHT Enterprise had we not waited for his incompetence. I don't mind a wait since I had no reservation at this specific place, but his lack of care and inability to deal with customers outside the normal grab and go was appalling. Not to mention the incredible sarcasm we were met with when he tried to rent us a minivan when we are looking for a Yaris. What a joke. read more

I've had some really bad experiences at other Enterprise locations so I was really really nervous about booking a car here. Luckily the employees here made the experience a breeze! I was really impressed. We ended up walking in and booking a car a few days in advance. The girl who was helping us was obviously being trained so things were a little slow but we were in no hurry. She was super nice and her coworkers were all eager to offer her help when she needed it. It was nice seeing that kind of teamwork. We ended up having a nice chat with one of the other employees are she offered us travel tips and advice for when we made it to Eugene. Much appreciated! Picking up the car was equally easy. We walked in, got the keys, did a quick inspection, and were off! No fuss, no problems. The man who helped us was also very helpful when we were debating whether or not we needed the additional insurance. The office was closed when we dropped off the car. All we needed to do was park it in their lot and drop the key off in the box. Easy! This location definitely restored my confidence in Enterprise. If I'm ever in Portland again needing a car, I will definitely rent from here. read more

I have never felt compelled to write a review when renting a car. Usually this is because service is just lackluster (not just this company, but others too). I always want to just get in and get out without trying to be sold a million add-ons. This was NOT the case at this location. We were helped right away even though they were busy when we both picked the car up and dropped it off. We weren't sold a lot of extras and felt comfortable during the entire process. We came to Portland and needed a car for the day. I made a reservation the night prior online. I walked in the next morning, and I was greeted by a friendly staff. There were several other customers as well. The team worked efficiently and I was helped almost immediately. Josh (the manager) was super helpful. We got a car in no time at all. It was a very smooth process. We hopped in the car eager for our trip to Tillamook, but it smelled like cigarettes. I ran back inside to let Josh know (to make sure we weren't charged for a smoking fee). Without question, he switched our car for us. It was a newer one (that didn't smell like cigarette smoke). I love this place. I rent in Portland 3-4 times a year. These folks are so professional and care about doing a good job. The staff is great, they work quickly and efficiently, but take as much time as a customer needs explaining things. Usually I'm good at skimming Yelp reviews before trying out a business just to get a general consensus on what patrons are saying. I didn't do that when I picked this Enterprise to rent a car for a few hours from because it was the closest to where I was staying and I was too lazy to walk somewhere further. My fault. Picking up the car was easy enough - they showed me an electric Leaf that had about 90 miles' charge on it and told me that it was enough charge to get to my destination and back. Fabulous. So my friend and I went off on our merry way. 10 minutes into the drive, I notice that we're losing miles about every other minute. I don't normally drive electric cars, but somehow methought that wasn't quite right. My friend called the office, they said "oh that shouldn't happen" but we could come back and swap cars. By this time we were about 20 minutes away from our destination but I'm not from Oregon and I didn't want to be stuck on some remote highway with no way to charge an electric car so we headed back. The closer we got to the office, the faster the miles seemed to vanish into thin air like my confidence in Enterprise. Near the end, the dashboard flashed and we had to turn off things like the AC to save battery. When we pulled back into the parking lot, we were down to 2 miles. The office didn't seem too perturbed, but they did upgrade us for free to a huge truck which thankfully had enough gas. Of course, as we went back out, we discovered the glove compartment didn't have the right manual and there was a takeout container of hot sauce in the middle section but at this point I just wanted to get to our destination which we did without further incident. When we returned the car they didn't charge us for the gas or the vehicle upgrade, but it concerns me at how the car they "checked" really wasn't fit to be driven at all, and the second car had the manual for a completely different car. Don't be lazy like me - walk a little further for a better car rental spot. read more

They can get busy at times but they really are awesome about getting me in and out quick. I also interacted today with Derek who is also very nice. I returned a car the other day with a scratch on it and because I didn't purchase their insurance I have to deal with my credit card etc. He has been very nice, very informative and I must say that as a company they are doing an amazing job to not make me feel like a number but a person. read more

I walked to the wrong location so I called the correct location to tell them I probably wouldn't make to their office by closing time. The man asked me how long I would be and he said he would still be there. When I arrived, I was greeted by a sincere, nice, and witty staff (considering I was a few minutes after they closed. They got me on my way in a timely manner. Plus the attitude didn't change when I declined ins. When I returned the car the next day, I walked into the office and they stopped their conversation to greet me and give special and efficient attention. Not only did they deliver a vehicle with the maintenance light on, after following the proper channels of setting up to exchange the vehicle. I went to the location to make the swap. Well, after explaining things the female rep I wasn't actually speaking to at this location decided to then give me an attitude about the process. Saying how they had to honor the reservations for the vehicles they have and couldn't do anything to help me except give me a considerably smaller vehicle that wasn't what I reserved. Insisting that there was no way they could give me one of the same sized SUV's on the lot because I wasn't comfortable continuing to drive the vehicle with the check engine light on. The funniest part is the car I was given at a different location wasn't even what I reserved to begin with, so why am I being treated differently?! My initial reservation was for a standard SUV, I was given a compact, that was smaller than even a Honda Civic. I didn't get a price change in the reservation for the difference in vehicles either. I was also promised to get called to swap out the vehicles. Never got the call. Unfortunately for me, the car ended up dying because it was one of those fully electric cars, although it had ample miles to get to the charge station. If you honor other people's reservations it should apply to everyone. Doesn't matter who I speak with, nobody has done anything to correct these issues but expects me to be paying hundreds of dollars for horrible customer service and dirty poorly maintained vehicles. I'm fairly positive there are policies against releasing rental vehicles to customers with the service light on. Entirely the worst experience I've ever had. We have used Enterprise Rent-A-Car for years so when our insurance company recommended booking in Portland after she was rear ended, we were on board. The experience she had with the office and the car she rented was efficient and easy. Later we received our credit card bill and had a big charge from Enterprise. We investigated this with our insurance company that should have covered the costs and they said our daughter had accepted FULL insurance coverage upon renting. At 25 this was her first experience and she simply initialed everything that was suggested "just to be safe." As this was coordinated with our insurance company in the first place, it was obvious she had coverage but just didn't know better. I called and spoke with Kelly at the Burnside office. She was pleasant, understanding and eager to find a solution. We discussed the situation and she was able to reverse the insurance overage immediately. I have always loved Enterprise's excellent customer service and Kelly at the Burnside office expemplifies the company's mission to excel. She clearly wanted to make us happy and keep us as a customer - and she definitely has succeeded!! read more

After a night's stay in the ER, I went to go pick up the rental my insurance set up for me. Even though I was stressed out, exhausted, and not in the best of moods, I was still treated and taken care of very well. Jacob Noah understood my situation and was very accommodating, allowing me to use the store phone to make important phone calls to family and to wait around until the tow yard opened up. When it finally did open, Adam Tischmak went above and beyond and out of his way to take me to get my possessions, drivers license, and cell phone from my wrecked car.
