When my car went to the shop, I reserved a rental through my insurance at the Highway 99 Enterprise location. I called ahead to explain my situation and that I only had a temporary paper license from the DMV. I offered to bring my passport and any other documentation needed. The Oregon DMV confirmed over the phone that my temporary license and supporting documents were sufficient for verification. I even went into the local DMV office in person to see if there was anything else I could do, but they assured me that what I had was completely valid and should be accepted. However, the manager at Highway 99 flatly refused, insisting I needed a physical license with my photo - something the DMV said would require starting the entire process over and paying additional expedited fees since they use a third party for processing and couldn't refund what I'd already paid. Throughout this interaction, the manager showed zero compassion, speaking to me coldly as if my situation was just an inconvenience to him. Even when I asked if my husband could rent the car for me, he incorrectly stated I couldn't drive it without a physical license (which my insurance confirmed was false - Oregon law allows me to drive any car I'm insured for with my temporary license). I left feeling defeated and violated all over again. Thankfully, a relative who works for Enterprise suggested I try another location. When I called Canyon Road in Beaverton, it was like night and day. The manager and Zac (who's in the management training program) were immediately sympathetic and accommodating. They found a way to verify my identity without bending any rules and got me into a rental car. They even came to my house for pickup to ensure I was completely taken care of during this difficult time. The contrast between locations was striking - where Highway 99's manager was cold and dismissive, the Canyon Road team showed genuine care and understanding. Zac and the manager (I wish I could remember his name!) turned one of my worst weeks into a moment where I felt heard and helped. I cannot recommend the Canyon Road Enterprise location highly enough. Comes equipped with cooler, gas stove, huge water jug, and misc plates, bowls, silverware and camping supplies (paper towels, tp, lighters, fire starters, wine bottle opener, lantern...) Definitely check before shopping for supplies.. we left some useful skewers and such for the next renter! Bedding was nice, came with standard cotton fitted sheet, flat sheet, a quilt and warmer microfiber blanket. Tons of storage under mattress, we also stowed our carry on bags in the center with no problem. Next time we are back in Portland and planning another camping road trip we will definitely be using them again!

We felt like Lewis and Clark making the Kessel run in 12 parsec, but the hyperdrive worked flawlessly plus involved less portaging and/or cholera. Eating in the dining area kinda resembled that that scene in LOTR when Gandalf steps into Bilbo's house but oddly I discovered I kinda like feeling like a giant and regressed into eating my spaghetti with my hands while referring to my Apocalypse IPA as "Grog" (plus it had the added benefit as a defendable conclave against predators or gypsies). Sadly weather permitted the rest of our meals to be consumed in our camp chairs under Zeus's watchful eye. Bed was some space age super foamy thing crafted by magic gnomes, the furniture all folds into itself as if Optimus Prime got drunk and went slumming at IKEA. No complaints, these guys are top notch and we're already planning our next trip to Middle Earth or maybe the in-laws in Coeur D'Alene.

I received…read morean email stating that my issue had been escalated to the stores District Manager and to allow 48 business hours for a response. That was on November 7th. Since then I have received two calls from the same store manager who I made it clear to in our last conversation that I would never again do business with them again. He even called me back after I hung up on him. When I called Customer Service to follow up on my complaint I was told by the girl that she would be happy to give the district manager a "courtesy" call in hopes that maybe he could speak with me today. I told her that as the company has not followed through on promises made TWICE now I have very little expectation of anything coming of it.
