O Shawn your a terrible, horrible, awful worker. You need some severe training. I had a 10am pick up, 1035 comes and not 1 person in the building. Finally got someone. Started papers after I was called up to the desk a few times then told nevermind. Finally started paperwork for my rental, and it was 1 issue after another. Finally my handicap mom comes in with a cane and this kid said how I'm not worth his job and all I was doing was asking questions. He started in with personal issues. Told him this is a business i dont care to hear his personal issues. So what does SHAWN DO??? Shawn turns to my mother and I.....told us to get the he out. We're not worth his time and find another company to do business with. I mean really? I ask questions and you say find another company? You dont want money huh? Okay. Hertz does. I am legit shocked with my great experience renting a car from this location! So, someone pulled a hit and run on my car leaving such damage that I couldn't open up my drivers door. To drive my car I needed to go in the passenger door and maneuver myself over to the drivers side. If you think you'd be a bit clumsy doing this? Imagine that ramped up to a thousand and you'd have a little bit of an idea of how I fared before bringing in my car to the shop. They said it would take a week and off to rent I went! They are so nice at this location, and they don't pull the weird stuff many renting cars worry about. I can't recommend this location enough. Enterprise in Poway does not have the best choice in cars. I should have went to Mission Valley location to have more options to choose from. They were also more expensive than Hertz. Insurance covered $25 a day and still had to pay an extra $5 overage per day for a tiny compact car. I came the first day and they had no sedans. It's been out for days. Said to come back next day when people return cars. Came back and nothing. They were left with trucks and giant SUV's. I settled w a Chevy Spark. At least it has Apple Car Play. I saw a car wash and detailing on site but the car was not cleaned. Dirty on the outside and dusty inside. They no longer have Clorox wipes for you. The gas tank was not full. Service had always been great at all Enterprises. It's just the selection of cars on hand that was frustrating. I would recommend to go to larger locations or near the airport. I usually get free upgrades when there's an abundance of cars. In this case, it felt like I got down graded. read more

First off, let me say that I have had multiple issues here but continue to give them a chance. Many times, they end up resolved as long as you are present and insistent, but today really tops it. I booked my reservation in advance, more than a week. I was supposed to pick up today at Noon but received a call at 11:30 saying the car I booked had a flat tire and that they were going to get it fixed. They did not have another option, so I opted to delay my trip to wait a couple hours. 4 hours later, I still had not hear from them. I spent over an hour trying to get the branch to answer one of two phone lines. When I did finally get someone, he said the car was still at the shop, unlikely to return and they were too busy to update me. He also told me they had no other options. He transferred me to the Kearny Mesa location and told me he saw "two" available vehicles there. Of course, they too are completely sold out. I now am missing a minimum of a day of my trip, IF I can even find a car by tomorrow with ZERO accountability from this location. They did not care about my time, my waiting on them, my trip, or even to find me a replacement. It's pretty disappointing to have had these types of experiences with them and Enterprise. I've given them so many chances, from not having my car class, to giving me cars I had to instantly return due to needing service, etc. There are some really pleasant staff, but being "nice" doesn't fix the problems. read more

I am very satisfied with my experience working with this company. The staff is always very attentive and polite. I was assisted by Christina Sherwood, and I want to highlight her professionalism in customer service. Since my Hyundai dealership is located in Poway, this was the closest branch of the company. Everything was clear and to the point. I had an unpleasant incident during a trip (someone hit my car and ran), but I didn't have any issues -- I was treated politely, the insurance paperwork was completed, I paid the deductible for my insurance company (which covered the repair), and I was immediately given the same car model, just a different color. The Manager Victor hooked my family up with a top of the line Mercedes GLE-350 for two weeks. Nicest sports car I've ever driven and got so many compliments on it. Horrible place, I've seen Chuck E. Cheese's run more efficiently . We reserved a car for thanksgiving , 4 weeks prior to our trip. Got to the Poway location and they didn't have a car, nothing was available. Called the 1800 number they told us someone would call us back and that didn't happen. Called the 800 number multiple times after that, no one got back to us, same lie each time "someone will call you back" they ruined our entire trip. We stayed home. They ruined our entire trip and provided no customer service. The workers are horrible. Do not go. They will ruin your life. read more

Had an amazing experience renting a car recently at the Poway Rent A Car location. It's not often you pull up and are immediately greeted in the parking lot by a smiling individual. Shockingly it wasn't a sales person or manager, but instead a young man named Chris H who was a car detailer who was busting his butt to clean a car that just came in, while also greeting myself and another individual. Once we got into the car, we were shocked at how immaculate the car was both inside and out. Funny enough, it was the same car Chris had just detailed. I hope whoever runs this location realizes Chris is what's missing today from companies... he's articulate, kind, cares about customers enough to say hello and be polite, PLUS cleans a car better than most mobile car detail businesses. I will absolutely come back again, simply because I want to see if Chris is still there & to see if he has ever considered growing into a different role or even having his own detailing business. read more

Hertz rental car location at Poway road very Bad. Be careful guys, check on your credit charges. They over charged everything. I returned the car with full fuel of gas, 1 hour early. DO NOT rent from here!! If I could give it no stars, I would. This place is a joke! We rented a 15-seat passenger van, and what we received was an old beat-up filthy van. Zack, the manager and Jack, who claimed this van was in good condition and that they had to source this van from somewhere else to get it to us. The van smelled inside and had dirty seats that were torn. There are hand prints all over the windows. Not to mention, the front passenger seat reclining lever was broken and had leaking water dripping from the bottom of the glove compartment. We had no choice and drove this van to our destination and tried to swap it out. This van was so terrible that Enterprise in Texas would not even take the van. They were even quite shocked that Poway Enterprise rented this van to us in the first place. They weren't willing to compensate us for the inconvenience. We will be filing a complaint! read more

Horrible service. Wish I could rate zero. When there are drop down options for a specific car as in occupancy, baggage, fuel preference why do you offer a lesser fill. I've always been upgraded for no fee at other rental car places. Operation is a cluster F. They are renting out a "fleet" of cars in a pretty nice zip code while their facilities are a broom closet with like 4 parking spaces. Literally no space to be dropped off or park as a guest/customer/visitor. I've had better experiences at airports which operate with an attendant at a kiosk. Go with Hertz or Avis down the road or just Uber. read more

Only downfall, and not the branches location, is the constant fluctuating rates. Incompetency at its finest at Poway Rd Enterprise. My car is under repair at CarMax and my warranty covers a rental. They sent me here and Elizabeth Tiersten branch manager refuses my rental bc CA DMV is behind on issuing driver license renewals. I have proof of valid licensure and payment of renewal. After taking an Uber to get the car and I ask if I am stranded, she says yes. When I show her proof of payment and proof of license stays online she can't help. She refuses to give me a name of a supervisor or the risk manager contact she says to call 1800 customer service. Disappointed this is how people are being treated by Enterprise and Elizabeth needs to handle this situation in a more professional manner. They could have offered me a ride home or another solution. Nothing. Manager who had no answers and confirmed I was stranded with no options for a ride home. I've had to rent two cars from this location in the past couple of months. The staff are generally nice, but the place is poorly run. Usually (not always) a long wait when calling. Haphazard COVID precautions, when they were being enforced. And the "Pick Enterprise and we'll pick up" slogan of theirs is a crock - I've requested multiple rides and they've always given me an excuse about why they can't. Watch out for the shady employees here. When you sign up for a certain type of car and they do not have it, they will up sell you. We should completely be so grateful and honor the ground they walk on, because they are giving us a better car. I am telling you to watch out, because they will get you in taxes and say oh it's only a dollar or two! Well, what if I told you it is only a dollar or two and I will not pay it? If I wanted a better car, I would have rented it. I had to take a Toyota Tacoma. I was told it would be better in gas, well it was not. They offered a super tiny adjustment, I even told the one assistant manger it was not enough. Another thing this same branch did was when my son needed a rental, they totally up sold him. He is new to this shady business and just believed what they told him. So, they gave him an SUV and told him he had to pay extra because the insurance would not cover it. It was a significant daily amount. I explained to him this is not how it works. Enterprise tells him they are giving him something comparable, but turn around and charge him for a daily upgrade. He did not ask for an upgrade. He was going to take whatever insurance granted him. So, when I told his adjuster this, he was livid! He said he will call them and take care of it, because they keep doing this to people. Do not get scammed by these people. I talked to one of the assistant managers and he did not do anything even after I explained what would make me happy. He did not care. Be careful! Watch your charges. Yes, while a charge can be a dollar or two more. Imagine how many other people are doing the same. Hundreds of people a day? So these companies or someone is getting an extra $100 a day, $700 a week and $2400 a month. Do not be fooled just because they put you up in a 'nicer' car. read more

If I could I rated zero, first of all they gave me a dirty car with empty tank of gas, and car showed only 5 miles can go with that tank, also later on, again I called them to replace my car because the wiper doesn't work properly to clean, and the guy over the phone rather than saying to ok we can replace the car which I asked too, he said, we can arrange some location like big O tire to I go there to replace the wiper. I rented a vehicle from this location only because it was the only place near Scripps Ranch. The service here for me was terrible! one of the worst experiences at a car rental. I arrived at the office and there were two young men at the counter one helping a customer that was loudly complain about a vehicle she was given the other young man was standing at the counter watching the drama. I told him I had a reservation and was here to pick up my vehicle and he told me to wait, he was not helping anyone only standing there watching the upset customer. I told him again after a few minutes and then he took my information. I specifically reserved a midsize SUV but this guy still found it necessary to ask me what I was looking to rent. I reminded him I had a reservation an suggested he look it up. This guy finally found a vehicle for me and when we nt to the vehicle to walk around sign the contract and leave. For some reason this guy found it necessary to ask if I had insurance and asked who my carrier was after showing him my insurance card he then decided to question me about my coverage and asked what my deductible was. In 20 years doing business with National and Alamo I have never had an employee behave so rudely. If I did not need to vehicle I would have walked out. This was The worst experience every renting a vehicle. To add insult to injury I was sent a survey to complete and requested the manager to contact me regarding my comments and lack of a positive memorable experience instead it was a nightmare! After a week, no response or acknowledgment to my experience and request for a cal back. The poor service by the manager. Now I understand why the employees are so awful, the management there has set the tone for lack luster service. read more
