My worst experience at a car rental agency! Went to pick up my rental and was told they had no vehicles. Mind you I made a reservation days in advance. No email, no text ,no call saying they had no vehicles. Instead I show up for nothing and sit there for an hour while the two employees just stand there , not sure if a car would ever come in. In 20 years of renting vehicles this is a first, and a huge inconvenience. I definitely will never return to this location or enterprise as a whole and go with another company. This experience was just off from the start. I did everything right on my part to make it as smooth and quick as possible. I'm an emerald club member, did the precheck in stuff. Had my code ready as I walked in. There were three working. Not one greeted me when I walked in. When I finally got to talk to someone I felt like I wasn't even there half the time. Twice during my check in she answered the phone and stayed on the phone helping the person all the while I'm sitting right in front of her thinking, I'm right here, shouldn't you be helping me? Check in took over a half hour even though I had everything pre filled out and should have just signed and drove. Ok the car, yes they did give me a Mini Cooper and I thought it was going to be fun. Turned out to be the biggest worry of the trip. So as I have never driven one of these I didn't really know what was supposed to be lit on the dash. I saw the brake lite on as we were leaving so stopped down the road to check that I didn't have the parking brake on. It was not so just continued the hour drive to where we were staying. The next day after I turn the car on, a warning comes on saying there is a problem with the brakes and drive moderately. You have to hit a nob to turn this off and get to the radio. So instead of driving to explore the area, I only used the car when we absolutely had to. We worried when we drove that we wouldn't be able to stop in an emergency. When I dropped the car back off, again a mess. I stood in the middle of the room without an person saying they will be right with me. After awhile, this lady walked in behind me and the girl at the desk immediately asks if she is dropping off. I actually had to say, I've been standing here this whole time trying to drop the car off. That got her to help me. Wow what horrible service. Now when I got to talk to them. I tell them about the brakes. They tried to sell me this story that they just had the car to a garage and they must have forgotten to reset the light. Now this is total BS, what garage would fix brakes and forget to clear the warning. I told them this much and the fact that when you turn the car on, you have to take a step to clear the message on the screen. Which was done as it wasn't there when we first got in. I got no explanation about this. At this point we had no time and had to get to the airport. Avoid this location if you can. read more

Make sure to put plenty of time in for sitting in the office waiting for your car. Made a reservation a week ago for an intermediate car at 10am on a weekday. Arrived at 11am, no line but the car wasn't there. Took 40 minutes for them to bring and then clean the car. When I complained about the wait I was told "Anyone getting a car is a win today, there's not a lot of cars" by the assistant manager, and the guy who brought the car from the other location told me "that's nothing, yesterday people were waiting two hours for cars!". I don't know if this is supposed to be a brag about horrible service, but it's the last time I book enterprise if two employees have said the wait times are usually this extreme, and then act like they're doing us a favor that it's not a longer wait. read more

Charged $276 for towing a faulty car after I was told I wouldn't be charged. Waited for a tow truck for 5 hrs. and an Uber back to the airport for another vehicle (only 10 minutes away). Terrible customer service. I received this extra charge after being home 5 days later. I called customer service 3 times and was assured each time a manager would call me back. No one ever called. The manager didn't care about me losing a day of vacation and wouldn't consider any compensation... instead received a c.c. charge for the extra $276. They only car about getting as much money as possible from you. Stay clear! read more

My husband and I had a problem with our brand new Jeep and Brianne and Ebony made us smile during a stressful situation. They got us into a car quickly and easily and took care of us. Made reservations for multiple vehicles weeks in advance. When we arrived there were NO cars available and in fact they had another group of people there in the same situation who had been there for HOURS trying to sort it out. I called customer service and they were sympathetic but not willing to take any action to assist us. As a result we have had to spend the last few hours going around trying to rent vehicles at the last minute. Thanks for ruining our first day of vacation, Enterprise. It is too bad there are no minus reviews. We booked a car rental weeks out, flew into Punta Gorda after travelling from Canada then Europe. When we arrived the very rude young person at the desk told us the car had been given away and they had no more cars. They were rude, did not offer any help not even help with a phone call or bottle of water. We have rented dozens of cars in our travels and never had an experience like this. We were left to stand in the scorching parking lot to track down 3 different Uber rides to get home. The next day we rented a personal car on Turo app and it was a fantastic experience and what we will use from now on. Little wonder apps and on line are taking the work away from these larger rental companies. Terrible Terrible service enterprise, we rent our florida home when not here and make recommendations to our guests to use as many local services as possible. Over the past 21 months, we have rented Enterprise Cars in at least 15 states. Consistently pleasant people and good quality cars. However, we have to plan on 45 minutes to rent a car - and many times had to wait for car to be cleaned even though we had a reservation and were present that exactly the correct time. No consideration seems to be made to "hold on the commitment" and any car goes out to any one, making those that have reservations wait just like a walk-in. Palm City was no exception - 45 minutes to complete a rental, when we had a 9 hour drive in front of us was challenging. Again, people nice - but nice only goes so far. read more

Made a reservation one month ago for a minivan. The service agent let me sit knowing I had a reservation for 45 minutes before telling me that she (Ebony) didn't know if she had a van available for me and that I should wait an undetermined amount of time to see if the airport had a van for me. Finally a manager came in and said that they did have a van but I would have to wait for it. One hour later, still waiting ..... I had no recourse and no options since I paid for the van in advance. Live 3 miles away and booked a full size car for the weekend. Have a smaller car and needed a bigger one to entertain and most importantly shuttle children to airport and back. These yoyo's couldn't find me a car. Agent was nice, but manager was a complete A** Sitting here trying to figure out how to pick up my brothers family (multiple lil ones) in a mustang? I use Enterprise Car Rentals Three or four times a year and always find them to be friendly and helpful and this time was no exception. The exception this time was that the car smelled faintly of smoke, although it had been sprayed to try to cover it up. I also discovered a problem with the car on the second rental day. The passenger side front door would not open from the inside nor lock. I never thought to check it out when I picked up the car but later when I had a passenger, he could not get out. Unbeknownst to me when I thought I was locking the car, that door didn't lock. Upon calling Enterprise, My husband was told to bring the car back, a 35 minute drive from our home. When he mentioned it was not our mistake and it was a safety issue too, Enterprise had someone bring us a car in less than an hour. That's great customer service! Good prices, friendly staff, and excellent customer service. If the car had not smelled like smoke, this rating would be a five star. We will definitely use Enterprise again. read more

Driver picked us up earlier than expected (and he was fabulous) and thrilled with that because to actually get the car took 45 minutes. Everyone in the office was very personable and friendly, except our agent, a management trainee. We only needed the car for about 5 hours, so when we returned it, everyone in the office asked about our trip to Sarasota, except our agent. We also went ahead and filled the car up as it was only on 1/4 tank of gas when we got it. This w/b a 5 star if our agent had been personable. read more

USAA referred me to Enterprise after my van was hit by another car on I-75 in Lee County. They were extremely busy but their staff smoothly and efficiently addressed everyone's individual needs. I have rented from Enterprise many times. They have variety of cars to choose from, If you are not satisfied they work with you to make you happy. Recently I rented a car for 2 weeks. They picked me up, patently waited for me to decide what car I wanted to get and I was out the door very quick. Greg was the one who did the final papers and he was very professional.
