I have always had a wonderful experience at Enterprise till now. Let me say this was not a good reputation of what I expect as a consumer this time though. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET THE 2024 CHEVY MALIBU. IT HAS A STRONG SMELL OF CIGARETTES and honestly I feel upset because the AC was on full blast when I was brought to it to not show the smell. In hindsight I should have asked for a new rental before driving off the lot and returning, I take responsibility for that but why is a rental with heavy cigarette scents in the car and air vents with no smoking stickers in it on the lot rental stock list? Remove it from the lot and return it back when that smell is completely gone. If there is no available cars for the rental booked, let the customer know so they can come back at a later time. I'm very happy with the service when we came back in to replace the car, but don't do that "I'll turn the AC on to make sure the customer doesn't smell how heavy the cigarette smell is in the car" move. So when they say Pacifica or similar, they will charge you more if they give you a different van and you then ask for a Pacifica. The van they also offered had empty tank. I needed a rental car after a minor accident that wasn't my fault, and my insurance set me up with Enterprise on June 11. I called ahead just to make sure everything was in place, and a very kind woman answered the phone. She was super sweet and explained that the body shop would notify them once I was ready so they could send someone to pick me up. I remember thinking, I love her accent, I believe she was from England. She really made a great first impression. A little while later, a nice gentleman picked me up from the body shop. He was friendly, talkative, and overall made the ride enjoyable. But once I got to the rental office, the experience started to go downhill. I checked in with a gentleman that was very friendly, he told me it would be a nonsmoking vehicle and I'd be able to choose my car once they called me, I waited around 25 to 30 minutes before anyone helped me. Turns out I couldn't pick my car because there were hardly any left, so they had already assigned me a car. They gave me a Buick SUV. I'd been hoping for a sedan, but I was even more disappointed by the condition of the vehicle. I had specifically asked if it was a non-smoking car, and they said, "We believe so," then asked the guy bringing me to it if it smelled like smoke. He said no. But once I got in, the car smelled very stale. Not like full-blown smoke, but definitely musty. When I turned on the air circulation from inside the car, it got worse and started to smell smoky, so I had to keep the air on fresh from outside to avoid it. And the cleanliness? Honestly, it was bad. There was either a man's or per hair on the dashboard and hazard button, very dusty, some kind of sticky residue in the cupholders, and smudges all over the seats. It just didn't feel clean at all. On top of that, the brakes squeaked every time I used them, and the brake pedal was way too sensitive, which made driving kind of uncomfortable. I gave two stars because the initial phone call and pickup were both pleasant, and the staff I interacted with were polite. But the main issues were: * I wasn't allowed to choose my car like I was told I could * The vehicle smelled stale and somewhat smoky when I used the internal circulation * It was very dirty inside * And the brakes squeaked noticeably If this is the only Enterprise near your body shop, it'll get the job done, but I expected much better. read more

Terrible. I reserved a van online and when I went to pick it up there was an issue with paper work. I told them I'd sort it out, which I did within about 30 minutes, but by that time they'd already given the can to someone else. Instead of trying to help me they hid that fact from me until we walked outside and they told me they don't have any vans anymore and tried to put me in a little sedan. Great friendly staff. They picked me up from the body shop after dropping my car off and guy was super cool and friendly on the ride over. They were pretty busy for a Monday afternoon when I got there, but again, next guy at the counter and other guy that provided my rental were super cool, timely, and it was obvious they getting through the waiting area as quickly as they were able. Sitting there waiting also, the staff treated everyone that walked in or was already waiting before me with the same solid customer service. Not wild about my car, but my insurance made the reservation and I get that they only gave limited inventory. Guy asked if I wanted something else but it's a rental so whatever. I was in an accident and I was told that my car would be brought to the collision center. It wasn't. I was told that I would be assisted by the person that brought the car to the collision center once once i went inside of the office. He didnt so much as say hi when he walked in. Everyone in the reception area was helped then a walk-in with no prior reservation(she said so her self in front of me) was helped and given a nicer vehicle that fit her needs. I was told that I could take the last vehicle which was a Toyota corolla. I explained that while trying to buy the Toyota corolla, I test drove it and later rented it and found that it hurt my knees sitting in the driver'sseat because of the lack of leg room. I was disregarded and the rep explaind that this was simply all that could be offered because it was all they had. I then explained that I had a medical issue with my knees developing and i felt disregarded. I'm 6'2 and was going through a hard situation where I was hit by a car and just trying to pick up the rental that was promised to me. I felt as though I was disregarded. I felt like a number as the rep told me that the only thing that could be done for me was swapping out that Toyota for a larger SUV at an out of pocket cost. I explained that I lived less than a mile down the road and again was disregarded and told that we only have what we have on the lot. I explained that I got off of the freeway everyday a few streets down and drove past the office daily. Again, I was told it's not much that could be done because they only have what they have. As a last stitch effort, I explained that I worked from home twice a week and could come back to swap at any time. I was never put on a list or communicated the option to work on finding another vehicle that had better leg room to fit my needs. On top of the lack of empathy for my medical circumstances or the interest in assisting a customer in need, there was no solution or ability to problem solve. After giving them a positive review, I had a negative experience with this location. It seems that some of their staff members are very incompetent. And some are very excellent when it comes to providing service to their customers. I got double charged from this location. When I called customer service, I was informed that I would receive a future certificate for commentary use. I never received an email. I have called customer service 4 other times to receive the same feedback that I will be emailed. Every time I have called I have received nothing via email. It was finally escalated to their escalated team . They were no help. I went into the branch and they were no help. They only could provide a discount at the end of rental agreement. I have a corporate agreement with enterprise. However, when I try to make reservations via App or website, my corporate ID number did not work. You looked through my past reservations, my corporate ID number has been applied to past reservations. The store location would not honor my corporate ID even after showing the app glitches. Our company provides with thousands of dollars of rentals per year. And it's a damn shame that they are about to loose our business. I am frustrated with the lack of service that is provided by enterprise. They refused to provide the exact dollar amount off my current bill they overcharged. I will be returning to Avis! This rental company provides better customer service.. enterprise needs to step it up their game. I was asked by an agent before leaving if I was happy with their service they provided, still a big fat NOOO! One of the other matters I brought to the management attention was that every car I rented; I mean several of them, they all had some kind of maintenance issues! The manager told me that they don't check their cars; they clean the cars but they don't check them unless they receive some kind of indication signal from the cars and wait on customers to inform them of maintenance issues! How many people do you think just drop off the cars after operating hours and don't say anything? Be careful where you drive, because I had some shitty brakes and rotters! After every maintenance issue I mentioned, never received any discounts. My last car had an air leak that they fixed by placing extra air and every 100 miles, I had to refill and I finally switched it out due to the safety of others and myself. read more

Picked up a rental with just a little over 1/2 tank of fuel and a 283 mile range. Was told to bring the vehicle back with the same amount of fuel, or there would be a $7.xx/gallon charge. I brought the vehicle back with 3/4 tank of fuel and a 360 mile range. After the vehicle was returned, I looked at the receipt emailed to me, only to find out that there was a $23 refueling charge. I went back in and spoke with Mathew, the store Manager. He told me that enterprise has a fuel scanner that's accurate to a tenth of a gallon, and that it was showing that I brought it back with 3 gallons less than what I picked it up with. I explained to Mathew that when I picked the car up, I was told to bring it back with the same amount of fuel and that I don't have a fancy fuel tank scanner, but I do have the vehicles fuel gauge. To this, he responded that it's a manufacturer's gauge and it isn't accurate, etc... After going back and forth, he tells me that he will not continue to argue and that if he gives me a refund, he excepts a 5 star, fully satisfied review on the survey! This is a shady operation, and I will not be doing business here again. read more

The only reason for not providing a 5-star review is due to the vehicle not being completely cleaned out prior to handing me over the keys (the vehicle reeked of marijuana and after a quick search I found some leftover stuff in the glovebox). I have rented from this location twice. Both times were a terrible experience. My car was being serviced at Future Ford and this is where the dealership sent me for a rental. Both times the wait for a car was close to two hours. The first rental I received was filthy and smelled of Marijuana smoke terribly. The entire 3 weeks I had the car it reeked of weed. The worker that gave me the keys even stated that he told them not to rent the car with it smelling so bad. Fast forward to the second rental. On day one of having the car I noticed a crack in the windshield. I noticed this after the car had been parked in the hot sun for 9 hours on a blistering 110 degree day. When I returned the rental they told me I was responsible for the crack? I am not surprised that they rent cars with chips in the windshield along with their filthy cars! Do yourself a favor and look over the windshield with a fine tooth comb!! I am not impressed and will never rent from them or recommend them! read more

Both the manager and assistant manager are completely unhelpful, inconsiderate and inconsistent with policy's their own website states. I ended up paying around $600 in Uber fees and rental car fees (at another location) trying to get around Sacramento to rent a car. Their policy on the website and the email confirmation I got clearly states that, "the address must be within 50 miles of the renting branch OR the renter's drivers license is from the same state where the rental branch is located;". I showed this to the assistant manager and she said it's wrong wording and that she cannot honor it and I can ONLY use a major credit card. Extremely frustrating experience and poorly handled by management there. I truly hope someone from management reaches out to corporate, to fix the wrong "wording", so someone doesn't end up budgeting and planning their entire trip based off term and conditions their company has posted. read more

This review is for enterprise Rent-A-Car but more so for the wonderful employee Ebony who helped me through the rental car process. When I was a young lad, I worked for budget Rent-A-Car for three years. So I do know the business somewhat even though that was a long long time ago. I thought the process was going to be long and tedious like back in the day. But I was lucky to get Ebony to help me out the day I called for the rental. I told her the quick story of why I needed a car. I was minding my own business when my vehicle was struck from behind at a stoplight. So I needed to rent a car while my vehicle was being repaired in the shop. And it wasn't on my dime because I wasn't at fault for the accident. I called enterprise and spoke to Ebony. She was fantastic! I expressed to her that I needed to car, told her the situation, and requested an equivalent to my car. Ebony told me that unfortunately she didn't have a luxury car in stock at the time but to give her an hour and she would surely have something nice for me. Ebony called me back in an hour as promised and set me up with a beautiful brand new SUV. The process she took me through was very quick, very easy and enjoyable. She knew exactly what she was doing and made the process fun because of her delightful personality. If a managerial position ever comes up at that location or others, I feel Ebony would be perfect for the job. Customer service goes a long way in my book, and Ebony was a joy to work with. I would not recommend Enterprise. Especially this location. In the past I would only rent from Enterprise and had moved up their Plus system. I noticed that other companies were offering better service and I took my business elsewhere. Well I recently had to go back to Enterprise because the car dealership I am using provides rentals through them. Today I walked into a full lobby and very few agents. After a hour of waiting I was wondering what the hold up was. I saw one rental leave the lot in one hour. I asked the assistant manager Matt what the problem was and said to how long is going to take. I said I only saw one vehicle leave in a hour. He argued with me and pointed to the line of cars and said the detailed 3. I said I needed to be somewhere and said it was not acceptable. He said fine I will cancel your reservation. I told him I just needed a car and was wondering what the hold up was. He said I could just leave they were short staffed. I said I wanted to know how long. He then said he would move me to the front of the line rather sarcastically and infront of other customers. I said that was not fair to them. This was done after I said I would be contacting enterprise directly. He then said don't say I didn't offer to help. As another customer gave up and wanted a ride back I said I would probably do the same. I asked an agent if she could check my place in line and she said it would probably be another hour before she got to me. I told her to cancel and went back to the dealer. Unfortunately I just took a Lyft home. If Matt is the type of leader Enterprise is promoting it definitely reflects bad on the management for that location. The car was okay, as I paid for a midsize suv. But when I got in the car the smell of weed was extremely overwhelming. They obviously didn't take the time to really clean the car. There were multiple dirt stains on the carpet and I even found an empty water bottle under the seat. I think I might have to do my business elsewhere. I'd like to start my review by stating that we don't live close by. We live in Rocklin but choose to use this Enterprise because of excellence of customer service and we trust them. We have used them for years now. We were going to Malibu for Mother's Day weekend and wanted something like an Altima. Aliah made sure we received what we wanted. Unfortunately the Altima had a maintenance issue and their ground crew couldn't have handled it better. The next day they sent a driver to pick me up to sign for the replacement car. They didn't need to do that as I live about 15 miles away. They upgraded us because of the Altima issue to a brand new Murano. This might sound like good customer service but it really was much more. I felt special. I felt like a red carpet was rolled out for me. I am a random customer and have no connection to anyone at Enterprise (some reviews have ties to the business). Aliah Terry runs a top notch business which is rare these days. Carina Macuha likewise. It can be scary in a new car but Carina sat with me and made sure I knew where all the gadgets were and programmed my Bluetooth.
