This Enterprise is a twelve minute walk from the Amtrak station. I already reserved the car online, so picking it up was an easy process. Although the Enterprise closed early on a Saturday, I was able to park the car in their lot and returned the car keys in their key drop...very convenient process.! read more

My particular experience was top-notch. I needed pick-up and drop-off at the Amtrak train station and they were very obliging. The young lady who drove me both ways was a local college student on Summer Break and just a devine, lovely person. The compact car that I had reserved was on the lot, but it was "tagged" for needing an oil change. So, they gave me an intermediate car, which was almost luxurious...a 2025 Nissan Altima. I returned the car full of gas, just like I received it and got my timely ride back to the Amtrak station. How could it be any better? read more

There's a customer service number but, when I couldn't reach your Chapala Street location the morning of May 29th, I called customer service to air my grievance and hopefully get help and they asked me to hold, and they put me through to the employee who hung up on me! When I realized it was him I said "why did you hang up on me?" And he said "we must have gotten cut off"...yeah thanks for calling back. Again no apology, no help.. I don't see how me spending time going through the rabbit hole of your website is going to make me feel less upset, it's just causing more anxiety and a waste of my time. Poor Customer Service - Unfair Charge and Rude Manager. The employee we made the agreement with was friendly, but when we returned the car, we were charged for an extra day. When we asked for an explanation, the staff couldn't give a clear reason and called the manager. The manager was passive-aggressive from the start, saying, "I don't care, I have other customers." He spoke negatively about his own employee, even threatening to fire them. He refused to check if there was a note in the system, wouldn't give his name, and blamed everything on his employee. The service was unprofessional, rude, and lacked common sense. We will not rent with Enterprise again because of this terrible experience. read more

If you can totally avoid renting from them, please do so! And if you 100% need a car please make sure you take pictures all around and inside the car you get. I was on a car accident and the insurance company provided me with a rental car from this place. Well turns out they did not do the proper inspection on the car and I trusted for them to do so which is why I did not take any pictures whatsoever. A few days later I received a call that everything was good and I would receive my deposit which I did. To my surprise 10 days later I received a notification that I had to pay almost $800 because there was "damage" on the vehicle, which I 100% am sure I did not do. On top of dealing with a car accident I had to deal with a payment to a damage I did not make. Overall please make sure you do not trust this company because they will bring more stress than anything. read more

Had to pick my friend up from here. My only issue is it is EXTREMELY hard to find. Not only are the signs small and a light grey color, but also they are also covered by shrubbery! Furthermore, THERE ARE NO SIGNS ON THE STREET SIDES OF THE BUILDING!! There are no signs on the front or side of the store so I was driving around the block for five minutes. I'm a frequent renter with Enterprise plus I probably take weekend vacations here and there throughout the year it totals up to be about 10 total. I most definitely have had my problems with some of the vehicles and or some of the communication with staff. However, I must say my most recent rental representative, Cassidy W, was absolutely great! Upon my arrival on a Saturday afternoon at 12:55 PM ( closing time that day was 1:00pm), she greeted me with a smile. She was prompt, cheerful, and polite. Overall, she satisfied my rental needs. Surprisingly they had the size vehicle. I need it on the lot she got me in and out of there within less than 15 minutes. The vehicle I received was OK it was clean gas mileage wasn't bad. However, the day I was returning my rental on my departure from Arizona coming back home to Santa Barbara, the car I rented seem to have had a bit of malfunctions or wasn't properly maintenance before I received it because service engine light turned on, on off auto was glitching, tire pressure sensors were going off several times, and when I removed the Febreze clips that were in there at rental agreement originally, WOW the smell of wet dog and gym socks was awful. All and all I will be renting with enterprise again I understand that every car has had multiple renters multiple destinations and since there's such a quick turnover, not everything can be meticulously checked, and or cleaned . Additionally, management texted me on a Sunday afternoon thanking me for my rental and making sure everything was spot on. When I responded moments later, I didn't get a reply that day or any other day regarding my rental concerns and needs so I'm a little bothered with management from Goleta enterprise in downtown Santa Barbara.. read more

Once again, I called, reserved a car, rec'd confirmation # and asked the reservation agent "are you sure there's a car", she assured me yes! I had a very important meeting to get to. I already wasn't a big Enterprise fan, but this place sealed the deal. I rented a vehicle through Hotwire, but it never said on the website that this location does NOT have an after hours key drop (so be warned!). I showed up to pickup the vehicle that I needed to drive to a gig for the day. I planned on returning it in the evening after hours, but the manager onsite told me that they weren't able to receive the car after hours so I would have to either come back in the morning (which wasn't possible since I had other work) or return it to the other Enterprise location at the airport. Because I had to return it to a different location, they charged me $50. If I had known I was going to get charged a fee because this place didn't have a key drop, I would have booked the car at the airport. I called about the charge and they were unable to help out. So I just rented a car from The Chapala location for maybe the 3rd time this year.... and no surprise to me, I was treated by all of the staff with the utmost respect, care, and a general attitude that the employees were engaged,And it was clear that they wanted me to have a good experience getting the car best suited for my needs. I used to go through Kayak and stuff like that but after finding these guys I don't even bother. When I rented today I was assisted by two stand out young men named Bay Buckley (super sick name) and Ricky Banuelus. Not only did they give me a fair deal but they switched me from my original chosen rental to something that they felt would be more appropriate for my size and purposes. Wow. What is happening to this place. This time renting was a complete failure on their part. Reserved an SUV to pick up co-workers down in LA for a high level meeting. Also reserved a pickup that morning. First off, when I called that morning to confirm the pickup they said they were too busy so take a cab/uber/lyft. OK, I could have done that with any rental company. I get to the Enterprise office, and they said they didn't have my SUV, but they had this POS thrashed economy compact that I could take. Obviously they do not understand the concept of reserving a specific type of car for a purpose. My meeting was at noon in LA. My reservation was for 9. They finally got a car at 10:30. There was only 1/4 tank gas - and when I needed it most, found out the window washer fluid was completely dry. Not safe. Not cool. Their insurance company was on the ball and willing to cover everything, including the rental. However, even though completely paid for and authorized by everyone involved, Enterprise would not accept a credit card (from insurance co thru school district) with anyone's name on it except mine... my only access to a card (as a sole proprietor) only has my company name on it -- so nope not acceptable either. Worse experience ever, I had done the ready pass to save time, but when I arrived there weren't any car ready, I waited 30 minutes and finally asked when will be one ready, I was told another 15 minutes and was offered a dirty mini-van instead of a sedan. I told the person that was not acceptable and decided to record our interaction, he then told me that he wasn't going to give me a car. The manager (Katie Grande) arrived another 20 later and told me that she wouldn't give me a car, she didn't even want to hear my side of the story and was terribly rude, no people skills whatsoever. At the end of the day it was a little inconvenience to me and I had to call a friend, but was it worth to lose a costumer for life and the bad comments that I will tell to everyone that I know and encounter, you judge. I had an excellent experience today. I showed up hot and sweaty after walking from campus and was kindly greated with AC and a smile. When I walked in the two workers inside immediately stopped their conversation to help me. The whole process at the desk took no more than 10 minutes and the woman helping me was amazing at her job. She was juggling between me and the phones ringing to put them on hold like an expert customer service worker while maintaining me as her priority. I rented a car from your Santa Barbara Chapala location. I called in the morning at eight and was not able to get through. I called back a little later and Brandon answered. He was there alone as he said he usually was and he was just amazing. He had no cars at the present time and told me to come back at 1o'clock when he had more cars. I arrived at 12:30 and Brandon was working like a madman. Every time a person would come up he would greet them and ask him to wait a minute he then would finish with the person he was working with and move on to the next. Brandon needs a raise. It's been a couple of weeks since I rented a car in Santa Barbara. So I am forgetting the names of the several young men that handled my rental but I think one of them was named Brandon. They were all so helpful and on point. They were running about 30 min late and so was I so we had to coordinate timing to make sure I didn't lose my spot in the schedule. I was visiting my 101 yr. old grandmother and needed a car that could accommodate moving her to and from a wheelchair. And, I needed it at a very specific time. They secured the perfect car, made sure it was sanitized thoroughly and had it parked and ready to go when I arrived to pick it up. Each customer service person on the day of picking up and returning the vehicle were polite, thoughtful, organized and incredibly friendly from start to finish. We drove by it a couple times before realising where it was located. Parking was easy and our companion ran inside to add himself to the rental record. I made a appointment for 1pm on Monday the 13th I showed up early to get the paperwork handled. They took our card information and payment as if they had the car they're available for pick up. I asked the sales lady if the vehicle was going to be ready at 1pm or could they have someone drop it off or do a pick up. It's 3:25 PM now no call back I called and spoke to corporate to arrange another branch far out of our way and inconvenient to handle our situation. She refused to be of any help and snidely laughed when i ask to speak to her supervisor, proclaiming to me the manager and refusing to pass my issue to her superiors. Normally, I wouldn't give such a dreadful review, but I would walk away and never look back, however, this time was the last straw. For the THIRD time, as a member of the Enterprise club for over ten years, and after using the services of the company for many more years than that, upon arriving at the Chapala street address, the manager and some arrogant young brunette behind the desk, told me they did not have the car I had reserved days before. The car was visible from the front window and as I explained that we had an important deadline to meet and without the car they were leaving me stranded, they told me the car in the lot was reserved. I told them that it was I who had reserved that car and I was told it was ready, so I had been dropped off to sign the contract. To add insult to injury, while I was standing there, two young girls walked in and were told that they could have the car I had reserved. Furiously and frantically, I called Avis on Montecito Street and was immediately accommodated. Such frustrating and boorish behavior by the Chapala Street staff harms the entire brand. A good regional manager needs to get in there and whip that group into shape. It will be an ice cold day in hell before I will use Enterprise again. When I finally arrived home again, I shredded my Enterprise membership card. It was as worthless as the Chapala office staff. read more
