They have regular bikes, but we rented ebikes since well the Black Hills are actually hilly! They even offer a shuttle service instead of riding out and back. Very convenient. We chose to be dropped off and rode back. When we rented snowmobiles on a different trip here they worked great and trails were beautiful with the pines covered in fresh snow. Trails are marked at every intersection "you are here" that you really don't even need a paper map. Highly recommend.

They will illegally adjust your time card without even asking you about the hours in question. The management pushes the laundry and other duties over to the employees. They have the entry level employees do the job of 2-3 people and very rarely pick up the slack themselves. They'll cut your salary back to hourly because you called in sick one time. But then the new managers can call in sick every day for a week straight. They let some employees milk their time while cutting other employees days to compensate for the payroll being to high. It's a joke.

We stopped here and they had no dog rooms that also was handicap friendly. The clerk called the boss and told him want the problem was and they got us in by rearranging rooms. We had to stay two days due to the storm. The room was nice and clean and the staff, including housekeeping was very helpful in meeting the special needs of my wife. What could have been a very miserable time waiting out the storm was made easy for us by the staff. Thanks guys.

So after…read morespending 30 minutes flipping between the apps and waiting for them to find a driver, I asked the receptionist at the Hampton who confirmed that there's no Uber in Deadwood. She said that only Dakota Taxi runs in the winter. There's only one taxi running on weekdays. But they do pick up the phone, and they are pretty dead on with their pick up estimations. I called for a lift from the Tin Lizzie to Terry Peak, and Lloyd told me that he was in the middle of a couple rides but would be there to pick me up in about 30 minutes, and he was there in exactly 30 minutes. Be prepared to share the ride if someone is going in the same direction or is along the way. In a one taxi town, that's reasonable. Thankfully, everyone seemed friendly enough. Lloyd (the daytime weekday driver winters Monday through Wednesday) was a hoot! He is a long-time area resident and is full of fantastic yarns, area history, and travel advice. He got us up the icy road and back safely and kept us entertained the whole time.

It's located in what looks like an old railroad building and has a huge parking lot for the area. They have historical information and interactive displays available inside with lots of information on the town and things to do. I appreciated that I was able to get the information that I needed via the kiosk and didn't have to speak to anyone in the center. There was plenty of parking and the bathrooms were very clean. After you get the information you're looking for inside, you can step outside and there's a pleasant path/trail system by the creek nearby. I stood there for a little while. Just enjoying the sounds of nature and looking through the information from the center before we headed out to explore Deadwood. Overall, this is a very nice and welcoming information center where you can get lots of ideas for things that you want to do before you head out onto main street as it can get a little overwhelming. I definitely recommend stopping here first on your visit, especially if you appreciate being able to explore things at your own pace before the bustle of this busy town fully hits.
