Enterprise is my go to for rentals. Staff and service is above anything else!! They are always able to get me on my way.

What a great experience. They do take the time to make sure your are please as a costumer. I like the fact that college students can gain experience working for a business. At face value it seems to be a positive work environment for the students. Traveled into Syracuse for a Syracuse University event. I'm an Avis Preferred Member and needed to make a last minute change to my itinerary. Avis service was ruse and unaccommodating. I rented a vehicle on the 14th of October at 1133 from the Hancock Airport, Syracuse, Enterprise. My initial experience went well at the counter when I received my car. My experience took a drastic turn when I received my electronic receipt. I had to get an electronic receipt due to dropping the rental vehicle and keys off just after 0400 on the 18th of October. The receipt showed the end of rental period date as the 20th of October at 1209, resulting in an additional $150.00+ charge. Dropping off on the 20th was impossible due to the fact that I flew out of the airport, on a military movement, just after 0600 on the 18th of October, landed in Virginia just after 1000 and have been in Virginia ever since. I was in a group and we all dropped off our vehicles at the same time...before 0500, with exception to 2 vehicles from our team. That group dropped off their vehicles on the 18th of October before 1100. And lastly the mileage reported by Enterprise on the return was 193 miles and I took a picture on the 18th, prior to putting my keys in the drop box, with my trip meter reflecting 195.2 miles. So now as I try to get in contact with Hancock Airport, Enterprise car rental, I have been pushed to voicemail 5 times. I have left a message with my phone number and have received no return phone calls. I rated the establishment a 1 in customer service and integrity. As a military member, integrity is a core value and extremely important in all settings. The worst part of all of this...I am originally from that area and would have never thought this would happen. We just had a terrible experience with Enterprise at the Syracuse Airport! First of all, a trick they pulled on us and some of our relatives who have used them is that they add an extra charge for insurance without asking you first. I was quoted $249 on the phone but then when I looked at the contract, they were about to charge me $300+ !! I'm glad I caught this and told them that I already had my own car insurance. What a racket! Second, after we had turned in the car and got to our final destination, we got a couple of voicemails that there were scratches on the bumper. However, this was already noted on the contract from a previous user! The agent had specifically shown these to me prior to driving the car off the lot. We left them several voicemails to discuss this but nobody called us back. In a couple of days, I got a FedEx Overnight Delivery letter telling me that I had to fill out an incident report and the case was turned over to the Damage Recovery Unit. This was such a hassle and nobody was willing to help. Terrible service all around! read more

A HUGE truck was cheaper than a standard car...Not a big deal. When we got to the garage the woman manning the keys said she couldn't find the keys to our truck, so we would get something else...as the truck was pulled up by another person. She inspected the car a bit and we signed the papers...Upon arriving back to the garage they said "There is a dent in the roof, we will have to fill our an incident report." WHAT??? We parked in a lot all week and the person when we rented the car didn't inspect the roof... COMPLETE BULL! read more

I use Enterprise a lot, all over the US. I generally find their cars and customer service to be amazing and standard-setting, not just for the rental business, but for business period. This location however, is the worst I've encountered. The standard up-selling that takes place didn't feel right. The cars were relatively expensive the one I got made a funny noise, like the car was out of alignment - thump thump thump .. Overall, I'd go back, because of the loyalty program. I work in the Quality / Customer Service sector and that is very important to me. Sandy waited on me in May and Queen in September. They were a pleasure to do business with. The vehical I got was great clean, ran good and I had no problems with it. The service was quick for th epickup and return. Why the three stars, well I reserve the standard SUV because I am disabled and I am a BIG guy. I get there oh they don't have that I would either have to down grade or up grade to the full size SUV. Well I could not down grade because I would not fit, so I had to up grade and it cot me an extra $65 dollars for the two days. If they did not have the vehical I reserved I should have been upgraded for free. That is why only a 3 stars. read more

The vehicle was rented through corporate but was still a disappointment. The vehicle smelled musky, and there were stains on both front seats, not sure if they were part of the smell. They were limited on availability and this was the vehicle I was stuck with for 12 days. read more

I use Enterprise very frequently for work. I am an emerald member, yet every time I rent a car I get hassled with the same questions about insurance and protection, my company credit card handles it. The guy behind the counter was arrogant, pushy when it came to this part of the transaction. Plus my car did not have an ice scraper and we got about 12" of snow that week. read more

I've always used Enterprise, and it's always been great service. The first problem I encounter, turns into an ongoing threat to my credit report that won't go away! Rented a car in August 2020, my credit card on file was charged according to the Rental Agreement receipt. Then, there was an overcharge of $53.34 billed that was supposed to be adjusted by Syracuse Airport location after countless redirect calls between the location and Customer Service. I just got a letter today March 2021 from Enterprise COLLECTION department for overdue balance of $53.34!!! So here we go again! I called the number on the Enterprise COLLECTION letter, and rep said they cannot adjust amount owed only COLLECT PAYMENT, so they redirected me to local Syracuse Airport location. Calling the Enterprise Syracuse Airport location gets you redirected to CUSTOMER SERVICE. I spoke to 2 different customer service reps today that confirmed no balance is due, my account is paid. One customer service rep said the COLLECTION letter was sent by mistake, and while he was saying that-- the call disconnected! So, I called back, on hold for long wait times, hoping to be reconnected with rep who was disconnected. The disconnected rep did not call back. Next rep says, cannot connect to previous rep, so I HAVE TO START ALLLLL OVER AGAIN!?! Ridiculous re-direct, incompetent system at Enterprise. Like the other frustrated users, I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB and continue to dispute charges with Amex. read more

Had some difficulty reaching them on the phone, likely due to this being an airport located rental lot and number of people in the terminal looking to rent a vehicle. I have a corporate account and usually have rented by the month from Enterprise. My wife and I were visiting friends and family and we picked up my usual rental from Enterprise in Syracuse. They gave me a great 'upgrade' upon my arrival to a very nice midsized SUV. The folks at the desk were very courteous and friendly. The only demerit would be that the interior of the car had that "smoker's odor" just slightly. As neither of us smokes it was only slightly annoying. Overall, it was the experience I expected from Enterprise, which was a good one. read more

Read these reviews people, you'll see a pattern of trying to blame previous damage on you! We caught it and photographed it and suddenly they didn't want to rent us the car anymore. Clearly they were trying to unload a mechanically damaged car on us and blame it on us upon our return. I even see them fighting people who had the damage pointed out before using the car right below in the reviews! You'll see the auto response to bad reviews that'll never be read by a human. Go to ConsumerAffairs if you want to see over 2700 complaints within the past year. These guys are just plain awful. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see an article saying these guys filed for bankruptcy in the next few week, or months. Playing all these games? read more

I have NEVER been to an airport location that doesn't even wait for its reservations' flights to get in. THEE WORST customer service. Never rent from here, you'd be doing better by renting from a suburban location since "they pick you up". How about this enterprise.. instead of being so quick to snatch up people's money for these less than mediocre rentals, why won't you be just as vigilant with providing the product we are paying for. I reserved a car similar to a Kia Rio. This is a 4 door car with hatchback. Upon arriving at the Syracuse airport to retrieve my car I was given their " Deluxe" standard 2 door Fiat. This is not a car it's a wind up toy. When I asked why such a small car I was told I could upgrade to a larger car. As I said absolutely not, I was then told my luggage wouldn't fit and I needed a larger car. I said I would make it fit. It fit but this rental was a joke. I was taking the car from Syracuse to Buffalo and the up charges were over $80 for an alternate drop off. They really nail you if your drop off is different. There was no way I was paying a penny more just to get from point A to B. I had to sign my life away declining the extra protection. I was told my card only covers liability and I needed more coverage. Excuse me but how would a 20 year old part time worker for a car rental know what coverage my card carries? There were scrapes all over this car which I reported immediately. Even still I was questioned about them upon the drop off. read more

I chose the option to have Enterprise choose a car for me - it worked out OK despite the fact that there was only one choice anyway - a Kia Soul. I liked it better than I thought I would. The two issues I had were: 1. I stood in the checkout line at the airport for 20 minutes - there was only 1 person ahead of me. The checkout person was chatty and clueless as to the time being wasted. The other checkout person had 3 people out the door in the same amount of time. 2. The child safety seat I added on to my rental was handed to me in the garage on my way out. There was no way I could carry it in addition to my luggage. It was rather thoughtless and made the person in charge of handling such things appear lazy. 3. The child safety seat was a bear to install. My husband and son spent 20 minutes installing it only to find the straps weren't long enough to accommodate my 5 month old grandchild. My husband performs easier maintenance tasks on his airplane! The seat was useless. It was also taken off my bill. 4. The left windshield wiper didn't work which made driving in freezing rain and snow downright dangerous. read more

Didn't have any trouble checking in or returning. The vehicle selection seemed smaller, and older, than other Enterprise locations I've rented from in the past. But that could be simply because of the location, Syracuse being a smaller airport and all. Overall a good experience. read more

Experience was mostly good at Syracuse airport but there was a ding on the roof that we had no idea how it got there. Fingers crossed it won't turn into a huge deal as this company was better priced than others, and our vehicle was good too. Be sure to take photos all the way around when you pick up the vehicle and again when you return it, especially if no one is there to check you in. Better safe than sorry. read more
