I rent 1-2 cars a week for business and have returned vehicles to this location several times. The last 3 times they have incorrectly charged me for an extra day--even when I return the car hours before my scheduled drop-off. I always provide time-stamped documentation, yet it still takes days of back-and-forth before they finally fix the mistake. Yesterday I returned a car at 2:00 PM (my contract said 8:00 PM), and because they closed at 1:30, they still added an extra day despite having an after-hours drop box. When I called, I waited 35 minutes on hold. I asked nine separate times for the manager's name, and the representative, Ishmael (spelling), refused to provide it--completely unprofessional. I can't say enough good things about the service that I got from Hanah at pickup and again over a week later at drop-off. One-Night Rental Turned Into a $2,500 Damage Claim In September 2025, I rented a car in Germany for one night to drive from Berlin Airport to Rostock cruise port. Before leaving the rental location, I took extensive photos of the vehicle. At return, the representative identified a small scratch (approximately 8 cm) on a plastic part underneath the front bumper -- an area that is not easily visible or accessible. I did not cause this damage and had no practical way to inspect or photograph that specific underside area before departure. I clearly refused to acknowledge that I caused the damage. The representative prepared a statement in German and verbally translated it into English. Based on his translation, I understood that the document reflected my position that I did not cause the damage, and I signed it. However, when I later translated the document independently, it stated that while I claimed not to have caused the damage, Enterprise considered it new damage. I was subsequently charged over $2,500 for what appears to be a minor scratch on a small plastic component under the bumper. The situation required a lengthy dispute process and significant time and effort to resolve. My experience was extremely disappointing and stressful for a one-night rental. read more

Attn Manager - although your staff was friendly and quick to serve, I had to swap vehicles twice. The first vehicle's wiper blades were bad during a week of rain. The second vehicle smelled like cigarettes and pot. The third vehicle required a refreshed cleaning but delivered not dried as I was informed there is no dryer on site. I also witnessed a customer offered a car not yet cleaned as if it was a standard practice. For personal use I am a satisfied Hertz customer. Your practices are not up to par. Unfortunately the rental is through USSA and was required to rent with you. If there is a next time, I will try a different location. read more

We went in for an insurance claim paid vehicle. The clerk couldn't find my information nor my claim info. On top of which they said there was no vehicles to be rented except for a truck or an electric vehicle which we would have to pay over what the insurance would probably pay. We didn't want to pay and we were basically sent away since they didn't have our claim info and they can't see anything for Concord Enterprise. I called the Concord number, they immediately had our information in the system, they didn't understand how Walnut Creek couldn't see it. Got in two hours later, they had to TRANSFER the information from Walnut Creek as it did exist there- so they did have our information!! My wife reserved a performance sport car as a birthday gift to me. Confirmed the reservation, showed up on the date and they did not have any vehicle in that class. The ones they did have were already reserved out. For some reason they allocated me a totally different car (luxury sedan). The assistant manager Giana was courteous (That's where the 1 star goes from this review). She referenced some "exotics manager" who handles these sorts of cars who was out for a few days. Out or not, allocated a sedan to someone who reserved a sports car makes no sense, I'd say fire that person quick. Made a reservation to rent an Audi at the Walnut Creek Location. Got there and they didn't have the A4 they told me they only had a car that rents for 200 less than I reserved. They had a C class Mercedes which is very comparable to the Audi and he said no upgrade. I said at least refund the 200 difference. This is the manager he did nothing!! Worst rental car group in the area. My wife was shown multiple vehicles and I told her to take the Rubicon as a choice, because we are traveling to tahoe during Christmas and we know there was a storm coming. The representative was adamant about showing my wife a Nissan pathfinder and after assuring her that it was AWD and safe to drive in the snow she went with the pathfinder because of the bigger truck space. I flew into Reno on business and met up with my wife in tahoe. We got stopped and asked if we had chains. My wife told them we had a AWD vehicle. It was not. It is Enterprise's policy we can not install chains. We had to spend 2 nights till the road cleaned (extending the rental) on I-80 and take the long way around instead of 50. The misinformation cost us an extra $800. We just request 1 night hotel stay in return for being lied to. They denied and said "my bad bro" no compensation of any kind. I would go with Hertz down the street or Avis/budget because Enterprise does not train there employees on their vehicles and specs. read more

took my car to an auto body shop so needed a rental. i was given 2 options (toyota camry and a nissan). i went with the toyota but it was so dirty on the outside. i had to ask for it to be cleaned. and i guess they don't dry the vehicle so the just sprayed it with water and gave it to me dripping wet. the inside was clean though. the service was pretty good. they were able to pick me up from the auto body shop. when it came to returning the car, they said i can just leave it at the auto body shop and someone would call me to confirm its pick up and close out my rental. i never received a call from enterprise. after filling out a customer survey, i received a call from enterprise who apologized and offered a discount on my next rental. i appreciate the follow up but wish this experience would have sent more smoothly. read more

UPDATE: I provided my information a week ago as requested on the comment to this review and no one has reached back out nor tried to make things right! My insurance put in a request for a rental car on my behalf (I have $50 per day in my policy). I came to pick up the car, had my credit card charged for the $200 deposit, given a Chevrolet Equinox, and asked to sign papers. When I returned the car about two weeks later, I was asked to pay $59 for the taxes on the car. I asked why I have an out of pocket when I have a $50 limit on my insurance. The lady stated that the insurance does not cover the taxes. On top of this, she stated that they would only return $151 of my $200. I contacted my insurance to clarify this and they said I needed to talk to Enterprise. So I called Enterprise again and spoke to Alessandro. He said they only charged me $59 and not docking my $200. I explained that I was told different by another staff and let that go. Regardless, I asked why the out of pocket was never explained to me when Enterprise knew my limit was $50, and why I was never given the chance to choose a car that would not have put me above my limit. Alessandro said that this was "explained" to me. I wouldn't be calling about this issue had it been clear to me in the first place, would I?? There was no acknowledgment of how they failed to explain this to me. Alessandro said it was all in the contract. The contract was NEVER explained to me and all I got was "I just need your signature right here". I can forget the $59 but I am NOT doing business with Enterprise again because I feel tricked into paying more and when I brought it to your attention, Alessandro was dismissive, showed zero empathy, and did not even accept responsibility for the poor communication and handling of my business. read more

I like Enterprise in general but this location is awful. Reserved a car and called to ensure I'd be renting the car I reserved. They confirmed over the phone but that wasn't true and the vehicle they offered cost more. Fun surprise. I appreciate that they picked me up, however the gentleman that picked me up was dressed in old sweats and a tee shirt that were about three sizes too small. It looked like he rolled out of bed. Not very professional. And finally when I picked my car up at the shop I was told I could turn in my rental car with them and Enterprise would pick it up same day. They charged me for three extra days and didn't send me a final bill for almost two weeks and four follow ups. This place is pretty shady and I'd recommend finding a different location for car rentals. They just proved to me repeatedly that they didn't care at all. read more

I am surprised to be writing this review. Usually car rental experiences are so commoditized and mechanical that you'll rarely see a situation warranting a glowing review. Until, Walnut Creek Enterprise. First guy I talked to at the counter...gosh, forgot his name. Goatee, late 20's Latino gentleman, had the Jocko Willik wallpaper on his phone which was an instant conversation on jiu jitsu haha. Danny also helped with my reservation and was a very nice guy. My return was easy, the manager Asian gal took care of everything and when we were finishing, she said something I hadn't heard before at a rental car agency, "let us know if you need a ride somewhere." Wait what? I do, was gonna walk 20 minutes home but I could use a lift. And there you go, this Walnut Creek location is one of the few with a courtesy shuttle and driver for pick ups and drop offs within walking distance. WOW. I use to do this exact service as a valet for a Lexus dealership but that was only after the service department ripped a new hole in your wallet. But to get that same service for a mere $30/day compact car rental is just incredible. Gosh, forgot the nice driver gal's name. Uh. Big hair girl. Reserved a car as we were traveling from FL, because of a FL DL we could not use a debit card. The credit card did not cover the cost plus additional 300.00 deposit for a 2023 small Nissan SUV. The manager Allesandro was very dismissive, told me to go to Costco to get a discount code to offset 28.00. I explained, I am a loyal customer, as a travel nurse my company paid for my car from them for 2+ years at that same location. He didn't care, stated he tried to help and knows I'm frustrated but he will not be providing any services to me, in other words he is not renting us a car. I called customer service who stated the district manager would reach out to us with an hour, 7 days later NEVER received a call or email. We went DIRECTLY across the street to Budget , was able to rent a 2025 Ford Bronco for 100.00 less. Better deal, better service and nicer staff. Never renting from Enterprise again. read more

3 starts as Edmund (I believe that's his name) was great! Kait (the manager) is horrible and more training needed. I was helped out by a young lady so sweet, looked at some vehicles and when I was about to check out, Kait relayed I have to sit down and wait my turn as I wasn't on the "waitlist" . I requested multiple times for her to reassess the situation as I was before the 2 people waiting. Kait declined me and after advocating for myself she did not hear me. It must be ageism, racism, or pure ignorance. I was greatly treated unfairly . And guess what, it was an accident I wasn't placed on the "waitlist". Thank you to Edmund to heard my concerns and understood. Kait, More training is needed and never would I allow my family or clients to come here as that is a rude practice. Process improvement needed and EDUCATION + overlook if she has abilities to be a manager, Hope this gets escalated. I picked up the rental car at the Lafayette location which was a great experience! However, since they're closed on Saturday, I had to return it at the Walnut Creek location which was quite the opposite! First off, I rented an Audi and left my Cartier sunglasses bag on the passenger seat. I contacted them and they claimed that they didn't find it less than an hour later, but I knew that I left it for sure! Then I realized they charged me for 3 days rental when I rented the car for less than 48 hours. The lady on the phone argued that since it's insurance claim despite I had to pay for the difference, they charged by calendar day! If I wish to be charge less, I should return the car the day before?? Her attitude and demeanor over the phone is completely unacceptable!!!!! It is bad enough that I had my car broken into results in renting a car, now I feel like I'm being robbed again by Enterprise! I had the car for less than 48 hours and they charged me for extra calendar day AND they said they don't have my sunglasses case!!!!! C'mon!! What's going on with the tiny "drop key box"? It is impossible to find after hours. The manager of this location should request the company put a large sign at the door or on the window that simply explains the location of the drop off key box. Also, there needs to be a light above the "drop key box" and the sign should be large enough for people to read. The last thing customers want is to find the key box in the dark with no sign at the door or window explaining location. Improve it and customers will be happier with the service. read more

it just seems they don't really have much of a care about the customer. They come across super nice and do their best to help you when they actually have a car but when you need a specific vehicle that has maybe better gas mileage, maybe smaller, it just doesn't happen and you have to call back about every hour to keep checking to see if somethings come in. They will not call you back. I have tried time and time again to ask for a different vehicle only to be told we only have this or we only have that I find it hard to believe that with a rental car place that cars aren't coming in at a regular or going out on a regular basis. The only bright spot was Gianna. She was helpful, courteous, and new to the job, but did a great job in explaining the vehicle. I just wish she had more time to look for a car that actually suits my needs versus just sticking me in something, but that's not her fault read more
